In my case, I started in chapter 1 season 7

Are we really still seeing people hunt down others for sprites? I thought that was gone. I literally had a guy chase me across the map from 85 ppl to about 25 just to get my trick or treat tails sprite. Into the storm I might add and he killed me after I ran out of movement items. I had a sprite I never extracted in my inventory which is why I'm pretty heated. Like God. If I kill someone with one I don't have great but I'm not spending the whole game chasing them down. This is ridiculous. Can't wait till they are gone.

Also want to point out I've played 400 matches this season and have a 20% win rate. I'm not playing just to get the sprites. Calling it a skill issue is honestly stupid especially since my focus was to get away and get the sprites extracted not to take them on with bad weapons and low health after just taking on two other ppl.

People enjoy the game for different reasons. Some play for story, some play because of cosmetics and some play for the gameplay or a combination. If FN threw away cosmetics or story I guarentee there would be a drop in players. This is another feature that some like. As someone who likes to collect things I'm trying to keep up, however many sprites are hard to come by. Its frustrated that they were implemented so poorly. I'd rather focus on BR but I collected all last season and after putting in the work I want to finish the collection. When sprites are no longer in BR that will be a great seasom.

Note: I myself am trying to collect em all. 11 away so its just annoying finding one I need and having an *** chase me.

I just got out of a match where I successfully took down a player in a 1V1 only to find out he had an extra life, respawned, and took the game.

This is janky as hell. The extra lives give the player using it a free instant 150 hp refill, invincibility on the ground when downed, gets to keep all of their inventory, and a rift that grants them any type of high ground and movement within their vicinity, putting the opposing player at a significant disadvantage all for playing the game. It’s all reward and no risk.

It goes beyond meta-defining. It essentially becomes if you don’t have it and the other player does, unless they don’t have basic fundamentals, you lose.

i was fighting a beetle juice (have no video sry) i had a overclocked 8 bit every time he came down got like at least 50 or smth on him, i had no assault rifle (don't ask) everytime he knew he was losing he would just use his tails sprite to go back up and spray me, yes i know i should've had a assault rifle but still it should at least have a cooldown for the sprite....stupid little fricking cowards jobless fricking frickaden fortnite fricking kids....

It was actually Chapter 5 that got me into playing the game in the first place, but season 7 has made me stop playing for a long time, only ever returning to farm xp for the battlepass skins using creative maps. There are three main reasons I hate this chapter:

1. There are no strong season themes anymore. There are so many themes we haven’t done yet like steampunk, medieval fantasy, monsters and cryptics, walking-dead style apocalypse, Norse mythology, Egyptian mythology, and so on. Instead we get a vague Hollywood season, a rivalry season (which isn’t even a theme, conflict is the most basic part of every story), a “cartel season” (except they didn’t even lean all the way into it and through random crap into the mix), and a video game season (stronger than the others but poorly executed). Season themes used to dictate the map changes, the mythics, the unique mechanics, and more, and now they’re just a side piece being overshadowed by the story

2. There are hardly any non-gun mythic weapons anymore. These type of weapons (not items, weapons) keep decreasing in number. Part of what made me love Fortnite was the variety that mythics gave us. I loved war machine’s arsenal, Cap’s Shield, Chain of Hades, and so on. I loved trying out new mythics to experiment and find new styles of fighting. I don’t care that the competitive side thought it gave noobs too much of an advantage, it was fun, and having fun is the whole point of why I sit down to play Fortnite. It’s a video game, its main priority should be fun, competitive can be secondary. Now everything is just the same old guns with reskins, there’s nothing fresh and exciting anymore, no unique mythics that tie into the season’s theme (aside from a few utility items)

3. For the love of all that’s holy, stop cramming the story down my throat, Fortnite. The storyline has always been something that people enjoy as a piece on the side, but now it’s overshadowing themes, gameplay, and battlepasses entirely. We couldn’t do a Hollywood season without having a massive floating orb in the middle of the map that’s completely out of place for some reason. We’re forced to engage with the story even if we only care about the gameplay as the story is now dictating map changes and battlepass skins more than anything else. The gaming legends season did improve this, but its top tier skin is still a Fortnite original story-character that does not tie into the theme whatsoever. I get that some people like to follow the storyline, and that’s fine, I just want the story to be a side piece that’s optional for players instead of every single aspect of each season trying to make it the spotlight. I’m here to play and have fun, not follow a story

I also hate sprites. They’re a fine mechanic on their own, but it feels like someone tried to force a collecting game into a battle royale game without ever actually thinking it through. It encourages behaviors that actively minimize fighting, which is the whole point of a battle royale, ruining the flow of the gameplay

I always hated when the storm always favored this POI and the end games were soooooo miserable that I just left if it ever happened to go near it 🫩

I didn't really mess with mine until now but I realized the one main thing that you need to change is the strafe angle. If it's 90% that means if you only hold left you go purely left, but that is no good, if you ever go left/right only you are stuck in a slow hobble and it feels delayed to even start moving forward. So what want to do is lower that to literally anything below, try it at 60 or whatever you want.

And for me I noticed it makes a big difference when I'm sliding around, I wont be holding W in those moments so it ends up making my character stuck in the hobble. This way though you always have forward momentum no matter what you press so you'll move more fluid.

Every time you look in creative you’ll see dozens of maps using copywritten IP, often things that have never even collabed with Fortnite. Spongebob, Kim K, Micheal Jackson, basically just anything that kids will click on mindlessly because it’s something they recognize. I don’t understand why Fortnite allows it and why the rights holders don’t send them cease and desists. The creative tab is just full of copyright violation trash.

I was feeling hesitant about the ability to collect all the sprites on my own this season. But I wanted to give it a try until the last week of the season, before attempting swaps. As of today, I have just mastered all 162 sprites from this season! I just want to provide hope to anyone that wanted to try collecting on their own if sprites make a return next season and provide some information on what it took to complete my collection.

Every morning, I would wake up and play 1.5-2 hours in zero build solos. I only played a two or three times during Saturday power hours with my duo for a two hour block. During these, if my duo extracted a sprite that was new to me, they swapped it with me (about 3 sprites). I had two natural swap encounters with randoms while playing solo by squatting in lobby and emoting without shooting if I encountered them in game. I’m a loot goblin, so I definitely focused on looting codes and using loot hacks for chest-produced sprites. I occasionally tried to snipe people from the bus, but only succeeded a few times when the other player had on a bright, recognizable skin. I’m now at season level 330, with 475 matches played. I believe the best patch to sprites was when epic made it so your chances for a new, unclaimed sprite increased with each sprite repeat you received. Video provided for proof. Happy hunting!

I played first match of reload this season and literally everyone was moving like they were playing some tournament, I just wanted to complete the quest to get the free skin, how can I avoid the sweats in reload?
