In this episode, Barry runs back in time to learn how to get faster (to defeat Zoom) by talking to the first Wells (who was really Thawne). Things go awry: the Time Wraith appears and the Barry of that time wakes up after being tranqed and everyone finds out about the time travel. When Barry runs back to the future, he runs in the accelerator - except, at this point in S1 (S1E11), the particle accelerator is considered destroyed (in the S1 Pilot they show the pipeline in ruins from what I can recall) and they only find out Thawne's been rebuilding/has rebuilt the accelerator in S1E22 (Rogue Air).

Based on these facts, Barry should not have been able to run in accelerator/pipeline in this episode at all, because they didn't know it was rebuilt (and it probably wasn't rebuilt at this point in S1) right? In fact, both present Barry and the Barry who time traveled run, because the Time Wraith slows future Barry down so he needs help. If the accelerator had been rebuilt then (by Thawne), the entire team would find out.

Or have I misunderstood?

Why the fuck does firestorm split into grey and Jefferson to activate dimensional gateway. It makes zero sense let’s split up into 2 vulnerable half’s, loosing all offense and speed, and defense through mobility. Sorry for the quick rant but this rewatch is making question the writers a lot

obviously, we all know zoom was earth 2 hunter zolomon pretending to be jay garrick but back when we first saw zoom unmask himself in the king shark episode, I incorrectly thought he was the earth 1 hunter zolomon and jay was jay. it wasn’t until versus zoom that i realized the truth. I was wondering if anyone else made that incorrect assumption back then as well.

Because…she’s the icy one in the relationship and she become killer FROST. Ice villain. Whilr Ronnie was the fire. Opposite of her. But also became firestorm. INTENTIONAL???

I doubt that it would have changed a lot of things. Maybe we could have gotten more scenes of earth 2 caitilin since maybe she would have become a hero somehow. Maybe we could have had killer frost go to earth 1 and interact with Caitlin during season 3 or 4.

I love the show but a few examples of terrible science are taking away some of its fun. I can accept that in comic book stories you need to make up some science to make cool stuff happen. But I think it's on the writers to make it plausible enough that viewers (who aren't physicists); don't immediately groan!

What is your best example of this?

For me: in episode 1 in season 7 they are taking about amounts of energy, as nanometres. There is some tangential sense to this in that the energy of an electromagnetic wave is related to it's wavelength. But then they say that this new thing has 5 billion nanometers of energy! Guess what - that's 5 meters! 5meters of energy! WTF is that? 😄

Watching the prison episodes, I feel like Barry could’ve easily created a time remnant and operated as the flash

So this is my 2nd time time rewatching the series, and I don’t know why I never noticed how bad the writing and plot decisions were. Flash is one my favorite DC shows but as I’m on this current rewatch I’m realizing how bad it actually is, some of their plot choices and choices for the character development I guess you can call are just straight up asinine. How the fuck does Jesse think she can beat savitar when she steals the shard of his suit and tracks him down, I understand she’s in a vulnerable state and making bad choices, but there’s bad choices then just stupid writing choices. She’s seen both Barry and Wally who are both faster than her get absolutely demolished and oh hey I’m just gonna go beat what at this point in their collective knowledge is a literally speedster god, and then they have the gall to have her hurt him with the shard piece, like how did remnant Barry never think about getting stabbed . I needed to bitch about this I couldn’t hold that in sorry for the run on sentences.

okay, so at this point, we know how the show claims Devoe can’t predict emotions despite the fact that he predicted actions based on emotion multiple times. but something else is that the show even confirms he can predict emotions since in null and annoyed, Harry literally says “devoe can somehow calculate human behavior“, and human behavior is based on emotions. so Devoe can predict human behavior and also not predict human behavior. while I enjoy Devoe as a villain (mainly due to Neil sandalinds performance), he is very inconsistent and stupid. also, unrelated, but I love that legends of tomorrow confirmed Devoe was actually wrong about who Jack the Ripper was.

To me, it was the lightsaber fight from the season 7 finale.

I’m rewatching the flash again, and I’m finding Jesse reason for hating her dad and leave completely asinine, like oh no my dad had to kill somone for me when there’s people with literal super powers walking around trying to kill her. Rewatching the show has made me realize they made a lot of stupid decision I still really like the show, but some decisions were just stupid.

rewatching the show has me so confused. So S2 Barry goes back in time and stops Thawne, that makes sense. Then season 3 Barry and flashpoint Thawne go back to that night, and the original Thawne disappears along with S2 Barry. Flashpoint Thawne takes S3 Barry back to the future and then leaves him, i assume back to his time. So how does season 1 happen if there is no Thawne to be stranded in the past, or did flashpoint Thawne decide to strand himself in the past to maintain the timeline? Not to
mention the flashpoint Thawne wouldn’t even know he was stranded in the past and had to create The Flash unless Barry decided to tell him off screen for some reason.
