DISCUSSION James Gunn pushes back on criticism that the DCU has no plans. He says some stories are standalone like the Guardians films (CLAYFACE), while others build a larger narrative (the Superman Saga), and each should work on its own.

DISCUSSION I loved this movie!
This was entertaining in all the right ways! The body horror was brutal, it’s very well written, and Matt Hagen was a great main character and wonderfully acted by Tom Rhys Harris.
I loved how the movie showcased his powers through his trauma and his revenge quest was very satisfying to see while also being an interesting turn to villainy. I can definitely see how this character would change after years of surviving in Gotham and eventually encountering Batman.

DISCUSSION Isn't just being a "Good Movie" enough
Clayface as a Horror movie is pretty good but its nowhere never Obsession or Backrooms. Isn't enough that a movie is consider good and not a masterpiece. The movie doesn't do anything new to the genre there aren't that memorable moments i would say are highlights for the genre. The body horror isn't as scary as people online make it out to be. Despite all of that its a pretty good movie through and through.
I don't get why people want it to be the next big thing. The movie is good on its own merits like i get why people gave it 7/10 and 9/10. It feel like this movie is ammo for a culture war either for the synderfans, MCU fans or the reverse.
