SOLVED A series of something like 7-11 books about some hidden academy for supernatural/gifted/etc students/children who came of age/awoken their powers
As title explains, it was a decently long series, I read it back in middle school (2016) and to my knowledge the entire series was complete then, I remember reading up to book 6 or 7 or so, and being unable to finish because 7 or 8 I don't remember wasn't in the school library and I refused to jump over an entire section, the main character was a girl, I swear it had to do with powers of some kind, either like vampires/witches/werewolves something like that, but it had romance and the only main memory I can remember is that somewhere around book 5-7 the main character gets romantically involved with one of the staff/teachers/professors at the school? It was a really good read and I really want to find it again, I've been looking for it for the last week or so when I was reminded of it and I'm losing my mind, but point being, all I remember is the first book was titled something along the lines of midnight academy or whatever, and believe me I've tried searching up ever possibility, but it is a fact that the series had over 7+ books, and I wanna say the books were around 300-400 pages minimum

UNSOLVED Fiction book released in the last 5 years, the book was named after the main protagonist, the boy, shows a pool in the cover
This book was somewhat popular on bookish side of instagram around 2022-2023. It wasn't exactly young adult and had mature Themes I think. It was coming of age sort of, as far as I remember

UNSOLVED What happens after death book
Hello, I have been trying to find a book I once read as a teenager with the following plot points
Start of the book had the protagonist going ice climbing for some reason.
The main plot had something to do with scientists hooking up people to a machine which was supposed to track what happened to a persons soul once they died and communicate with them to find out where the soul goes.
I think the end of the book had a bad guy hooked up to the machine who dies and speaks through the machine telling people that we were wrong to think that good/ heaven came first and evil/Hell came after, it was in fact evil/Hell that first came into existence and is the true order of the universe.
I think the real ending was that he was lying to make people think the worst and go through an existential crisis.
It is also possible that I hallucinated reading such a book but if anyone knows if this book is real I would greatly appreciate your help.

UNSOLVED 90s YA book, about a protective ghost MMC?
In my pre/teens I was a huge Point Horror (And adjacent books not from that "collection") reader, was massively into Christopher Pike. I'm remembering a book but I cannot find it.
The FMC is alive. That's all I remember about her.
The MMC is a ghost, and is the typical 90s outcast, long hang, leather jacket, flannel/plaid shirt tied around his waist. He was murdered, possibly by jocks/school bullies, and is now protecting the FMC.
They interact, only she can see him.
I vaguely remember there being trees around her home. and it's possible he's protecting her from her ex/boyfriend?
It was giving kinda Twilight vibes, but with a ghost instead of a vampire, and well before Twilight was a thing.
Does anyone know what book this could be? It was potentially 90s/early 2000s.

UNSOLVED Help Identifying a Lost Piece of Short Horror Fiction
As it says in the title, im trying to track down a piece of short horror fiction i read in an anthology I no longer own. The story would have been from the 90s. Can't recall the name, the author or the anthology, I'm afraid, and AI has made searching for an obscure piece of genre literature nearly impossible.
The story is about a rain maker in a world stricken by supernatural drought. He is in pursuit of a rogue apprentice who has been making it rain unnatural things. He comes to a desolate town, gets attacked by desperate locals, and resorts to a canteen or "black water" whose properties are never fully explained, but is apparently vile. He eventually tracks his apprentice down to the town hall which is crawling with tortured ghosts.
If anyone has any idea what this could be, I'd be in your debt.

UNSOLVED A book about a father and son whale the migrate to the arctic
I was read this by my mother in the mid 2010s. The book was likely a chapter book, and in Chinese. I do not know if it is a translation or the original text. The story starts with the son whale and father whale parting from the mother whale to migrate to the arctic. The father whale dies somewhere in the book from kidney stones. I remember there being an important part in the book about the father whale talking about whale kidney stones. The end of the book is the son whale making the journey again with his own son.
Sorry this is a weird one, but I was having a nostalgic moment and this book just wouldn’t get out of my head. Wonder if reddit will be able to help.

UNSOLVED Help with YA fantasy book
I remember reading a YA Fantasy book but I only remember bits and pieces of it. I remember it starts with a poor boy who does work as a thief but after a series of events is placed in prison by an authority figure. I remember his time in the prison and he briefly mentions rats eating toes while he is with an old man in there. The boy is rescued by a young girl and the old man dies and grants him some kind of magic and the two escape together. The only other detail I remember is that in the end the two end in a spirit like realm and the two part ways

UNSOLVED YA book from the 90s? Spoiler
I am looking for a book I read when I was a teenager.
A teen girl works as a Candy striper in a hospital where her father is a doctor. I think it takes place in Texas (maybe Houston). One evening there is a hurricane that comes through the area. An injured woman shows up in the hospital with a head injury. After the girl talks to her, the patient goes missing from the hospital. The girl goes looking to find out what happened and finds the woman was being held against her will.
Does this sound familiar to anyone. It was a paperback, I think I bought it at Kmart, if that helps.
Thanks.

UNSOLVED Fantasy, magical city book with black and white cover with moons
I am trying to remember this book, I think I had a picture of it with Mordew from the Library/bookstore. I didnt read either Mordew or this one, i had taken the picture to remember to get them. Maybe it came out around the same time?
I think it had black and white cover with the MC on it with a circle of half white half black (or blue?) Moons/circles on it. Plot was magical city, MC finds the power to turn day into night or reverse worlds, something like that. He had to escape as enemies who wanted his power were hunting him down? Maybe cover also had the city/castle in the background?
Mordew is on my TBR list but not this one, which is why I am trying to remember it.
Thank you for any suggestions.
