Is it normal

So I rebuilt my engine and then once I got it in and started it sat for another 3 months due to transmission issues and all together the car has been sitting for about a year with a full tank and when I parked it after a short test drive it had white smoke coming from the exhaust and I was wondering if this is normal for a while after a rebuild or maybe it’s from the fuel sitting soo long? Or is it something going wrong? If anyone could help that would be great thank you

A little bit of white smoke could just be condensation burning off which is normal.

  1. Is it a large white cloud of continous smoke?

  2. Are you seeing coolant loss?

A yes to either of those answers could be an improperly installed head gasket/ coolant leaking into a combustion chamber.

It’s continuous but dissipates quickly and I haven’t ran it long enough to tell if there is coolant loss

Probably just condensation burning off is my guess. Run it through your typical motor rebuild break in process and just keep a close eye on coolant levels and go from there
