my main focus on this was the muscles cause you could probably tell from the hands which r pretty shit but i think the body went pretty well (compared to the last time i tried) also tbh idk how to do like shading on black objects so the hair and sword handle was my best shot at that i just used hatching with grey

idk why i screenshotted instead of uploading the file but whatever

Edit: OKAY OKAY YOUR WORDS HAVE BEEN HEARD I WILL BEGIN USING REFERENCES

Trad artist is STRUGGLING

So im a traditional artist and everything I've learnt has been helpful as I try out digital art! For reference, I have a Wacom tablet (connected to my hp laptop) and use FireAlpaca. This image is my latest *finished digital piece. Ignoring the subject's posture (because anatomy wasn't my main concern, but trust it isn't an issue) what did I do wrong/need to improve? I had fun seeing how the different layer filters can be used along with a bunch of other features, but this certainly ain't no masterpiece lol.

I am also still trying to find my digital style cuz everything looks off, also BRUSHES ARE SO CONFUSING, im just working with a few to become proficient in those but I find it have to discern the strengths and weaknesses of brushes.

Anyway, I would love any feedback, PLEASE be real with me, you cannot hurt my feelings!!!

Question/Help Recommendations?

Hi, I’m sorry if this is against the rules, but I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for tablets and art software/apps? I am looking at like a $150 budget with some wiggle room.

My boyfriend is an artist and has really been wanting to get into digital art for years (currently draws in his paper sketchbook) so I am going to get him one for the holidays, but I know absolutely nothing about art. I was going to get a refurbished iPad but saw mixed opinions on it so I wanted to ask.

Any help or advice is super appreciated :D
again, sorry if this is against community rules

Question/Help Drawing tablet and monitor mount

Thumbnail

Hello everyone, i wanted to have some tips on if it's good to have a double arm mount for both my main monitor (Samsung g5) and my drawing tablet (Huion Kamvas 22 Pro 2019).

I usually use my pc for gaming along with art, i wanted an arm mount for my tablet along with my monitor since the stock tablet kickstand was way too low and my neck hurt after a while, but i also wanted to be able to move it aside when i don't use it.

I also tried an under desk keyboard drawer but it didn't give me much leg space.

I wanted to type this post also because idk if i'd be able to move the two monitors back and forth without them bumping into each other or for one to obstruct the visibility of the other, but i don't know if the two mounts are better stacked or next to each other since i wanted my tablet to be under my monitor.

If you'd like to give an opinion or tip on this setup it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I got to around here in this drawing and I have genuinely no idea where to continue, how to render, how I sort my layers. To specify my question, I would love to hear your guys order in what you do when you start rendering your line art/sketch so I can try it out!

Cancer possesses a profound devotion toward life, especially the ones they cherish. They approach every relationship with deep emotional intuition, empathy, and quiet tenderness. Deeply protective and tenacious, they are driven by an endless desire to nurture others and create a true sense of home.

As the cosmic caretakers, they are the ones who protect the nest, offer unconditional warmth, and build safe havens wherever they go.

Spooky week oldie pull I’m not sure ever saw the light of day ~ had lots of fun piecing together this stage visual a lil while back. 8bit video game menu & 2D platformer world, plus a verrry sick n scary 3D final boss render by my colleague Sandy Pham at the end
