Thanks! I also think it came out really well. Would like to try that one again with better line art beneath!

Thanks! I also got inspired to do this from similar posts, so very glad to pass it on haha

Fabric studies will unlock so much for character design too, way more useful than people realize upfront.

Thank you! Somehow, more reflective fabrics just seem to click easier for me. Glad you like them!

I want that jacket IRL. What style is that?

It was just something I took from a Pinterest reference so I can’t be 100% sure, but my clothes knowledge points me to think it’s an MA-1 bomber jacket. Maybe check out if they fit what you’re looking for? Let me know if it is!

Sick! What did you use to create this?

Hey! I use Procreate. If you mean more specifically, I made a sketch, painted using only values, and then applied a gradient map to each.

Can I have your permission to sample this and give you credit for it?

1

u/SamGuitar93 May 14 '26

Yeah sounds fine, what do you mean exactly by sample though?

Like YouTube thumbnails that would fit with this?

1

u/SamGuitar93 May 15 '26

If it’s credited then yeah, sure!

I thought the red skirt and black jacket were selections of a photograph (like from an online store). It took a moment for my eyes to realize they weren’t real. Good job!

the jacket folds are insane, that crinkled nylon texture is way harder than it looks so props for nailing it

u/kubiric May 15 '26

I can’t comprehend the color variation in the jacket… that’s legendary

Woah, I really like how you render the clothes. How much time did you make this??

The way you handled the light reflections on the satin skirt is really impressive.

Did you use ai as reference?

1

u/SamGuitar93 May 14 '26

No, why?

1

u/Unmarkable357 May 14 '26

Well you wouldn’t learn much from it so it’s important to screen references from that. Just the white shirt has that ai look, it shouldn’t drape like that. sorry if my comment offended you.
