Liver and gallbladder Pain after eating?

I had gallstones years ago so I am wondering if it’s those returning because it’s different this time around.

I’ve been doing alternate day fasting and typically on days I fast i’m okay, but once i eat pains slowly creeps up and gets worse throughout the day until i spend the evening in bed with a heating pad.

It’s abdominal pain, like a crampy bloated stomach, but also a squeezing chest pain (like bra strap area)

This morning I tried to drink warm lemon water (supposedly good for gallstones) and a minute later my whole chest felt squeezed and achey and I had to lay down until it went away after 5ish minutes.

Would gallstones do that? is it something else?

Hello,

I’ve had this small lump near my spine for about a year now and I’m just wondering what it could be. It’s firm, painless to the touch, and feels attached right under the skin.

Skin and nails Waking up itchy!

Thumbnail gallery
• Upvotes

I woke up yesterday with my legs to my stomach covered in itchy “hives”(?). Can’t tell if I’m being bit up by something or just getting a rash of some kind. I took a bath and the itch went away the rest of the day. Woke up today and both my feet have the welts! Best pictures I could get. Wife who sleeps in bed with me isn’t having any symptoms and neither is our baby who sleeps in the same room. M30, no medications or known illnesses. South western PA.

Skin and nails Is this Herpes?

Post image
• Upvotes

I have this weird tingling burning sensation that appears on my lips and flares up and goes up and down over a few days or week.. I’m super paranoid that’s its herpes even tho I’m not someone who kisses random people or slept around. I’ve been with two people in my life and it was all over 2 years ago.. it has never formed a cold sore tho and never turns into an open wound. This is about the worst it gets.

Eye issue. No tears

Post image

Ok, so help! Has anyone experienced anything like this?

My daughter is now 19 months old and was born with no tears in her right eye. I took her to our GP when she was a few months old, and he suspected a blocked tear duct and referred us to an ophthalmologist.

We’ve now seen four ophthalmologists, and we’re still no closer to answers.

Here’s our journey so far:
Ophthalmologist #1: Said it was a blocked tear duct and wanted to perform a procedure under general anaesthetic to unblock it when she was 12 months old. He didn’t examine her eye or listen to my concerns. He advised using antibiotic drops if it appeared infected.

Ophthalmologist #2: We ended up in ED one day because the inflammation became so severe that I knew something wasn’t right. They recommended a second opinion. This ophthalmologist said it definitely wasn’t a blocked tear duct and that the red areas appeared to follow the path of the trigeminal nerve. He recommended seeing another specialist because he wasn’t familiar with the condition.

Ophthalmologist #3: Suspected congenital corneal anaesthesia (CCA) and referred us to another specialist.

Ophthalmologist #4: Performed tests in the room, arranged an MRI (which came back normal) and examined her eye under a microscope. Ulcers were found on the cornea, thought to be due to dryness, and she was treated with Chlorsig and steroid drops.
Unfortunately, this last specialist hasn’t been able to give us clear answers about what the next step is, despite us trying to find out. We’re essentially stuck, not knowing where to go from here or how to get a diagnosis.

Her symptoms:
● She has never produced tears from her right eye.
● Redness and inflammation come and go, always affecting the same areas on the right side.
● I’ve noticed the redness flares when something gets in her eye.
● After flushing the eye and using lubricating drops, the redness settles.
● She has developed corneal ulcers, which were thought to be caused by dryness.

She’s now 19 months old, and the underlying problem hasn’t changed.
I’m currently using lubricating drops hourly, and thankfully the redness is much less frequent. The photo shows a previous flare when she was only using Chlorsig, before we started hourly lubrication.

My questions are:
● Has anyone’s child had congenital corneal anaesthesia (CCA), or something similar?
● Can CCA be present despite a normal MRI?
● Could another condition cause an absence of tears from birth, recurrent inflammation and corneal ulcers?
● Has anyone been through a similar diagnostic journey and eventually found answers?
● Can anyone recommend a specialist who has experience with these conditions, particularly in children?
In Aus. We feel like we’ve hit a dead end. One specialist wanted to operate on a presumed blocked tear duct, another said it definitely wasn’t a blocked duct, and a third suspected a rare condition. Now we have a child with ongoing symptoms and a history of corneal ulcers, but no clear diagnosis or plan for what happens next.
We’re not looking for a diagnosis from the internet. We just want to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar or can point us in the right direction.
We just want answers and to make sure we’re doing everything possible to protect her eye and vision.

Eyes sudden eye symptoms for hours

last night (tonight technically), going into right now at 2 in the morning, i suddenly got a lot of pressure around my eyes along with eye irritation and watery eyes. when my eyes would water my vision would blur up. right now my vision is okay, but im very sensitive to light. i went to the bathroom and saw that my eyes are quite red and swollen. i was able to sleep for a little bit during these symptoms, so the pain is not horrible. i still am concerned that i should go to the ER now or the urgent care in the morning. i don’t know to what level of urgency this is. thank you

also I was sick recently and still have a bit of a sore throat

——-
19f 95lbs / current meds: qulipta, haven’t taken in a few days / diagnosed chronic migraines without aura (i’ve had this for 5 years and something like this has never occurred because of it before) / before migraine dx, went to ENT and got a sinus CT that showed I have a cyst in my sinus but was told it was not causing my symptoms and they were neurological so was the referred to neuro and dx with migraines / otherwise healthy

Skin and nails Someone help me with my weird toes

(If you're a bit squeamish in general, maybe sit this one out lol)

-

Ok, so, I have some very gross-looking feet, which is something that I've been told my whole life. I will not be showing you my feet. I do not want to show strangers on the internet my feet. I will, however, describe them.

You see, all the way since I was born, both of my second toenails have been yellow-brown and thick and dome-y and disgusting. They are impossible to cut, they grow sort of curled 'in' instead of straight 'up', if that makes sense? They seem to not grow parallel to my toe but are rather somewhat detached. They also grow kind of slowly and never cause me pain, and the only discomfort I experience from them is never, ever wanting to wear open-toed shoes.

If you're like me and love googling things, most of the things I've said so far line up perfectly with the very rare medical condition nonsyndromic congenital nail disorder 10. However, the problem is that nonsyndromic congenital nail disorder 10 affects all of your nails. Every fingernail and every toenail, while mine are isolated to both of the toes next to my big-toes. (The two nails match exactly, and I don't know if that's a coincidence, or what). Onychauxis is the overall term for the abnormal thickening of nails, but it is generally observed to happen as a result of direct trauma to the affected areas, aging, etc., however my parents swear up and down I popped out of the womb like this, and I know my condition has never worsened or improved throughout my life.

If anyone has any clue how my condition makes any sense at all, PLEASE tell me. There are only around fourteen medically examined cases of nonsyndromic congenital nail disorder 10, so I find it pretty unlikely that I'd be the first example of that happening to only two specific toenails??

This isn't even a problem for me, nor has it ever been, I just hate not knowing the weird rare thing that I have.

Required personal details I have to have that I don't think will be relevant, but must add anyway: age: 16, gender: male, 5'6" 125 lbs I think, US, scoliosis??, I've had this literally my whole life, every 'symptom' is what I've listed above.

Teenage Health Memory issues

I am 18 and over the past year I have noticed my memory getting very foggy. It could be a few things. To preface I will be going to a doctor but for now I need to soothe my nerves. About little under a year ago I slowly went off some adhd meds, anxiety meds, and my birth control for my periods. Also around 4 years ago I was diagnosed with anemia. Today I watched a movie and wanted to tell my friend the plot but got all mixed up and fuzzy and it hit me that my memory sucks and I panicked. Any suggestions?

Post image

got these little rugburns falling on hardcourt while playing tennis

is it a big risk if i dont put any kind of gauze or covering while sleeping? it feels uncomfortable when somethings in the way

yes its a bit disgusting when the sheets stick onto these and when in the morning i have to clean the random fur and fibers that got stuck in them

is it a high chance to get an infection from my bedsheets, i change them once a week

also is it fine if i wear those square bandages in the day? and then take them off when i get back home?

i disinfect them a few times per day and put petroleum jelly on them

General Fingernails turn very blue/purple when cold? Skin also gets mottled, it itches a lot too upon warming them up.

Age: 25 (Female), 166cm 64kg, Medications: Prozac 40mg, Vyvanse 40mg + 10-15mg Dexamphetamine as afternoon booster, Clonidine 100mcg.

So my fingernails turn very purple/blue when it’s cold. My skin also gets very noticeably mottled too (picture in comments).

I am aware that this is relatively normal for fair-skinned people, but the reason why I’m a little more worried this time is because after this episode, my hands and feet started tingling and itching really bad. Like almost on fire bad. I also noticed I was very fatigued and felt out of breath, and a little nauseous. These symptoms did go away a little after I warmed myself up.

The tingling itself actually started from yesterday, it was happening mostly in my right foot and hand. I also had my usual heart palpitations and uncomfortable chest feeling so I initially attributed to an anxiety or panic attack.

I do usually get tingling in my feet when I lie down for a while, but not sure if this is normal or not. My hands and feet are usually always cold so I was thinking it was a mild circulation issue. I had chilblain’s one time on my toes which I recall can be caused by poor circulation.

I do get get anxiety and panic attacks regularly when I’m stressed so that’s why I kinda discounted this blue fingernail issue until now because I was thinking it’s probably just my anxiety playing up again.

I showed these pictures to a GP and described my recent symptoms and she was like oh yeah it’s just anxiety. She measured my blood pressure and oxygen levels and it was at 135/85 and 96% respectively, so my vitals are fine.

I’m not sure though, I feel like this time, it was more intense than usual and I felt like she discounted my issues a little by just saying it’s anxiety. That’s why I wanted to get a second opinion from here just to ease my thoughts a little. If it’s just a little reaction from being cold, then that’s all good. I’m just worried I have an oxygen or circulation issue.

Women's Health Anything weird in these?

Thumbnail gallery

First is from July, 2nd is from a few days ago. I'm F27 and have had persistent abdominal pain since I got a copper IUD placed in May. It partially expelled and I had the dr completely remove 3 weeks later (fully intact). Have been on 2 rounds of antibiotics, got an ultrasound, a CT Scan, a lot of blood work. Went to a GI dr who prescribed levsin in hopes it would help the pain, did a colonoscopy & endoscopy, and all of it came back normal. The timing is too weird for it not to be obgyn related but the pain is not going away and the last thing I want to do is exploratory surgery. I haven't had chronic pain before this so it seems too sudden for endometriosis? IDK.

I have spent too much time looking at the ct scan pictures just to try and figure out what everything is. The most I can tell is my uterus is retroverted (I knew from a previous pregnancy), my tailbone is probably a little too mooshed in lol, and my uterus looks more enlarged now than it did in the last CT scan. Not sure why that would be, I got the MRIs done around almost the exact same time of my cycle, right around/ before ovulation

Bones, joints, and muscles I really need some assurance or insight here. I need real unbiased answers. I have severe health anxiety and am being treated. Do my legs look atrophied? Specifically the lower leg on my right side. I have marked before and after pics of what is old and new. The ones with a ⭐️ are from today. 30yoM

Skin and nails Anyone Had Something Similar?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have a GP appointment booked for next week because my partner wanted it checked. For reference I've had this on my leg for I think about two years now but it started as like a sliver, very skin coloured, more invisible.

He noticed that it looks more visible recently. And it does look ever so slightly raised. I have realised it is not as skin coloured anymore, more tan looking.

I don't expose my legs to the sun so I'm curious what exactly it could be and why it's potentially changing now. Has anyone else had this on their legs?

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth 6yo complaining of pain on the roof of mouth, any idea what this patch could be? Also has tiny needlepoint sized red dots on roof of mouth, couldn’t get a very good photo. More info in caption. Will be calling pediatrician in AM
