Remapping gamepad controls in DS2
Is there a way to do this besides Steam Input for the Steam version? I am playing the games through Game Pass.

Am I the only one here genuinely curious on how larger necromorphs were formed? From brutes to the hive mind.
Like how did the marker compiled all the bodies and turned them into necromorphs visually. Merging of bodies to form brutes, or the significantly larger bosses. What's the process? Apart from the infectors.

I remember someone saying years ago describing a marker as “it’s like a brain that wants a body” then after a while I came up with this.
Imagine a race beings so advance that their tech was almost god-like but they were fragile and their mortality was short and their resources were running dry. So they created something similar to a particle collider but this one had the ability to cross dimensions and they discover something from an unknown reality let‘s call it the “Eldritch particle“ they studied it reverse engineered it and it gave them limitless energy and essentially became ‘Gods’.
But then things went wrong their curiosity got the better of them started hearing voices, cults were formed and the horror of this particle was using them to make ’it’ and the beings had no idea that they were being controlled by this thing and were means to an end to build a marker and the first brethren moon was made.
But there’s also another theory about the symbols being ‘alive’ but that’s something else entirely.

If they bring a remastered on PC with DLC included, multiplayer working and better textures I'm fine.
Don't need a DS2 remake, I prefer a DS4

I’ll admit I only watched dead space 3 and I really didn’t like it and I don’t consider it canon.

I’ve recently started replaying the dead space games, and I’m playing dead space remastered right now, I was surprised by how much it freaked me the fuck out. The way that necromorphs creep on you without nearly any queue of their presence leads to lots of terrible jumpscares while in combat, and the unpredictability of when they’ll pop out when just wandering around the ishimura leads to equally terrifying moments, its led me to slowly creep around areas that I’d otherwise run through, and given me a sense of dread that persists the entire time I’m playing.
I know from experience that the original dead space is terrifying in its own right, but do y’all think it’s scarier than the remake?

I don’t think anyone knows how disappointed I was when I finished the pc port of dead space 2 ready to load up the severed dlc only to find out it was a console exclusive dlc, i think it sucks because this dlc is basically locked behind the ps3 and 360 ports of the game unless i get the 360 backwards compatible version of ds 2 on Xbox one which means I would have to buy a whole Xbox and another copy of ds 2 and I have no hope that EA will ever put it on steam or make ds 2 remake seeing how little they care about dead space, the only dead space content we’ve gotten in years is a battlefield 6 collab which is cool I guess it’s better than nothing but man dead space deserves so much more love than EA gives it.
