Is this what your town is like?
I am just curious. In the city I live there is no longer trash or recycle cans on the downtown streets, at drive-thrus, gas stations etc. They used to be everywhere! This is a problem, as far as I'm concerned. It makes it more difficult for people to take care of their messes. I am not saying it is an excuse, but at the same time it makes no sense to me. I'm not sure why this has happened, but I think it has something to do with maybe people going through trash(dumping them). Is this happening where you live? Where it is difficult to find garbage cans etc in places where it used to be pretty much standard?

Crosspost Over 4,000 Urban Compassion Project volunteers have cleared more urban trash than any other individual nonprofit in the United States: 1.7 million pounds of illegal dumping since January 2025. And many of these areas remain clean.

5 lbs today along Mobile Hwy. We are told it will take at least 4 months to clean up. Trash bags will be the last. I usually call the state or county for pick up. They are very busy

Can't just drive by it
10/22 & 25/2026
Came across 5 bags of illegal dumping again that I couldn't bear to drive by. 3 bags turned out to be leaves & 2 bags of trash. Dumped the leaves & gathered the rest of the litter = 18.73 lbs
Then a quick neighborhood walk = 0.71 lbs
= 19.44 lbs

Cleaning while running
Hi, I want to clean the side the roads where I used to run daily. Do you have any tips to carry all the waste I will pick up? Or how to do it efficiently? I want to clean a 10km road (back and forth) while running/ walking, not a lot of junks but I was thinking maybe with a 20L backpack and if it's full I will come back another day.
Thank you!

The only thing spookier than 19.5 lbs of trash is this total normal, not cursed doll head.

Original Content Do you ever pass a street and wish you had a bag??
Collected all this walking 4KM on one street. (On the way to a store) half way through I ran out of space. 4 blocks later it's like an abandoned ensure can village. At least 24 scattered around.
Seems like ensure Is the popular hand out food item in our area. It's sad to see so many of them.

Original Content Meant to take the day off...
...but the drunks were at it again last night so I picked up the bottles they threw into a bush. Then took my pup on a trek through the desert to the dump site I found a month ago to get a pin so I could get some professionals in there. Filled 2 bags. With the shoe and the glove today, I almost have a complete outfit to go with the hat, pants, and sock I found recently.
Was trying to find a path that leads up to the nearby hill to collect the trash they've been tossing over the fence but ended up finding several other dump sites instead. Reported the sites to the county, so hopefully I can get some help!

30 mins around a bus stop
Had a beautiful fall morning! Surprises included a lot of chicken drumstick bones, and several used bandaids (the only trash that makes me gag)
