Having Shirley Ballas on the show highlights the contrast between her judging style and that of the US judges. As a former Latin champion, she brings a level of technical expertise and constructive criticism that I feel is sorely lacking on DWTS.

To me, it's highlighted just how much the US judges tend to coddle contestants rather than provide genuinely useful feedback. It's also made me question how much value Bruno, in particular, actually adds to the judging panel. I did not like how he referred to her as "The Queen of Mean", after she delivered her comments and found that to be demeaning.

I'd genuinely love to see an overhaul of the judges. I understand they've been there for years, and there's understandably a sentimental attachment for long-time viewers. But I think the quality of judging should ultimately take precedence over nostalgia.

My biggest issue is that poor judging actually limits the contestants' ability to reach their full potential. If you're competing on a dance show and genuinely want to improve, you need specific, constructive criticism that tells you what you're doing wrong and how to get better. Constant praise and inflated scores might feel good in the moment, but they're not necessarily helping anyone grow.Ultimately, I think having more technically rigorous judges would actually benefit the contestants, not just the quality of the show.

Curious to hear what others think. Does anyone else feel Shirley's appearance has exposed some of the weaknesses in the current judging panel?

Kinda funny that for the past 3 seasons, someone’s had a birthday on October 28.

I only know this because I’ve randomly looked up their birthdays before, and I only remembered because it’s also mine 😂

This photo was taken 30minutes after the episode. It’s not confirmed but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the team dance with Alfonso next week. Tatyana would pick one side and Connor for the other side since they had the lowest combines judges scores.

I have loved his personality all season, and hoped for him to get better because his dancing has been fairly mediocre to me and I don’t want him to outlast significantly better dancers and all that, and then TONIGHT happens?!

It’s like he became a different person as a dancer! Like he suddenly connected with how to get his body to move how he wants it to. And it was so good! Graceful, athletic, smooth, lyrical… I hope it translates to his next style!

Seriously. As a viewer, I become devastated for the next 24 hours over eliminations. 

Knowing the blood, sweat, and tears put into the dances, the relationships building off camera, the luxurious treatment, I cannot even begin to understand how they go back to life as scheduled, ESPECIALLY when your time is cut shorter than you anticipated. 

Can't get it pulled up anywhere its complete crap. Youtube tv also refusing to have DWTS on an alternate station what the F guys I dont want to listen to the orange man ramble

He was so not himself? All season he has been positive even when it wasn’t his best he’s looked forward. Tonight he was so visibly frustrated. Never mind the obvious where he tried walking off but on stage at elimination sharna reached for his hand he refused?
