Great health check up

I no longer need to take my blood pressure medications! I am almost 70 years old and have lost a great deal of weight, more than one third of myself was excess weight and it's all gone now!

I am battling cancer and that is mostly how I lost the weight with the chemo and radiation therapies.

My health insurance pays for my gym membership yay! I don't hit the gym every single day, and on non gym days I go for a 3 or 4 mile walk. 6 months ago I couldn't walk 4 blocks without needing a rest break.

I went to my heart Dr yesterday and am doing very well for my age in the heart health department!

I am so grateful for my health, and grateful for my gym membership, and grateful for all the beautiful parks and trails close to me for my walks!

After being increasingly ill for decades due to an undiagnosed genetic issue from birth that caused significant nervous system issues, I finally got on the right supplements *and have felt joy for weeks for the first time in years*!

The little things!

Todays just been another good day. The weather is okay, not as good as last night but its still tolerable. Mentally im feeling strong and content. I’ve gotten work done that I needed to, I got the sub set up and ready to go with the help of our mod team. I’m just in an overall good mood today.
Not much for now and I’ll probably make another post later tonight, but just a little something to get the ball rolling. I hope your day is as good as mine!

Announcement Open to the public!!

We have decided to open the sub on up for ANYONE to post! Come on in and share what you are grateful for today! Remember to be kind and polite to one another, read the rules before posting and have a wonderful time!

While we have the community open to the public, for the time being ALL new posts will have to be filtered and approved by a moderator. Don’t worry, this is only temporary until we get a grasp on things and see how the sub is going to work!

Just some thoughts

I’m outside walking around listening to music enjoying the last bit of this 70° weather we’re having in NYC. I recently didn’t have my freedom, I spent some time locked up and then in rehab and I’m really thinking. I’m grateful for my freedom. The ability to just walk around and go where I want. It was only 5 months I was away from society but being told what to wear, where to be, when to eat, what to do just not having any freedom truly takes it out of you. Now I’m finding a newfound appreciation for the small things. Kids playing in the playgrounds bring me joy and memories of my childhood. The birds chirping reminding me nature is still thriving. The last little bit of sunshine. I’m just grateful for still being here and still being alive. Im fortunate I never overdosed. Life’s beautiful and I’m so glad I’m still alive. Just a ramble but I’m for the first time in a long time genuinely enjoying life.

Grateful for my past self and the foundations they laid. And also Oreos.

My physical and mental energy is not great right now. But I'm in my space and I have my routines and my strategies. Things past me set in place are things I can hold onto now for a little bit of stability while I wait things out. My current version of not great is actually pretty damn good compared to other times. And that's all down to past me laying that groundwork. Yay past me.

I also tried a new flavour Oreo- brown sugar pancake. They're good. One of those ones where the biscuit part is different to the standard so a bit more interesting. So yay for Oreos too I guess.

Im in the journey of recovery, I'm 186 days clean! Im grateful for the better sleep im getting, the connections I’m making with my family, the new start on life I'm getting. I have used in some form for over a decade and I'm finally getting to meet the REAL adult me. Im becoming a better person. Im getting back to the things I used to do before the substances took over. Im planning o going on a mission trip sometime next summer, I've reached out to the local animal shelter to try to volunteer time. Im currently helping out at the school my dad teaches at and I'm grateful for the opportunity I've gotten there. Im seeing myself come back out of my shell and I am excited to see where I'm headed and who I'm becoming. Have a great week if you read this all!!

Grateful for it all

I am grateful for my creativity. Whever I am feeling down, stuck, lost, I usually will junk journal, and make some random art collages to feel better. I am grateful I have that outlet.

I am grateful for my job, loving it, and allowing me to be creative in my job. I am grateful that it pays well and that I can seriously consider buying a condo for myself in the next 4 months.

I am grateful for how life seems to be looking up, and how I really feel like I am making progress towards my life goals.

Feeling Myself

Turned it all around this weekend, and stopped drinking, eating crap and being depressed. Instead I ate well, socialised, cleaned, exercised, and I’m grateful that on this Sunday night I am feeling myself again for the first time in months.

Another day!

I’m thankful for another beautiful fall day, a morning conference where I got to see people I usually only see once a year, and the fall colors on my hour long drive!

I'm grateful for my mom. She was an amazing mother. I could have lived a thousand lives and none would be worth living if she wasn't my mom.

She was the maroon to my ocean. She added so much depth, wisdom, and love to my life that her absence feels as though the core of this earth is no longer there.

I can't believe that this pain will linger in my heart for the rest of my life.

But I know that the pain that I feel is the fluid displacement of her love. The water that pours out of my eyes is the core that is placed inside my heart, with a finger striked up in the air, evicting the water from my soul.

The pain that I feel is a different face of the same coin as the love that she has given me. To feel this pain is only possible because of her love.

The same way I'm put at a trance when starring at the ocean, I now surrender my heart to starring at this canyon.

I'm so grateful for you, a-mah. Thank you for giving me the earth.

For another day. For a nap. It’s so hard to keep going in this long career transition/hunt. Feeling discouraged but trying to find joy in small things. For my kids happiness at their new sport.

Grateful for the smell and feel of the air in the light rain today.

And you know the rain makes green stuff seem greener, which looked so great with the bits of autumn color that are finally appearing where I live.

Fall harvest!

Happy to harvest the last bit of stuff from our garden before we get frost this weekend…which I’m not ready for. Solid load of late season watermelon and some green tomato’s most likely bound for the freezer.

Fall weather!

It was beautiful getting out for golf and 80s on Monday, but this cool snap with storms, that’s always appreciated plus the good nights sleep that goes with it! Also, feel like my head has been getting more clear and feeling lighter these days. May be due to my gratitude practices 😂🤷‍♂️

I’m grateful for knowledge

We don’t know how much knowledge we have until we see people doing the things we thought was general knowledge out of ignorance. I’m grateful for everything I’ve learnt and super grateful for the vessels that taught me directly and indirectly they’ve shaped me into who I am today.

grateful car accident

three days ago i got into my first car accident (i completely own it was my fault), though it was nothing serious and no harm was done to anyone, the persons car did get damaged pretty bad. today he just got back to me with the quote of cost, it’s £457, he’s paying it for me. i don’t know why, i tried to talk him out of it and said i’ll pay the for the damages i caused. but he was persistent, very thankful for how stress free he made a bad situation i cause.
