Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Denied PIP - lies in decision letter, how do I do MR?

Denied PIP today for schizoaffective disorder, autism and adhd. 0 points for everything. Despite extensive evidence and input from CMHT. Despite constant changes in mood like hypomania and depression. Despite psychosis that was extremely severe and could happen again.

In the letter the response mentioned how they have concluded i’m good with money and pay my direct debits on time. That’s not true and forgot to mention the £10,000 loan debt I got myself in with a past friend when not well. They said because I have a levels and am attending university I can follow a recipe which I don’t think you should use education in this. So what that i’m in university, doesn’t mean it’s not a struggle. Also says I attend university when not on placement and I seriously do not attend university at all.

I still might not get PIP but those little lies are annoying. People talk about an MR, how do I do that? And how do I voice these concerns that these aren’t true? Can I write a letter with a MR? And is there a time limit to do this? I didn’t get the form you can ring for after the assessment, do I need this for an MR?

Universal Credit (UC) UC questioning cash withdrawals

I take out a lot of cash and realized UC might question it, as my boyfriend also sends me a lot of money each month and I send him money, vice versa. He sends up to 600 per month that he owes me or for when he pays for things and I spend it within the month.

I take out a few hundred in cash per month.

I spend it on day to day things but also a lot on my addiction. If I tell them I spend it on my addiction, will they stop my money? I'm not sure how it works. I'm on LWRCA and UC.

Universal Credit (UC) I'm so scared

I worked at Amazon for 3 weeks
Only went in 2 days as I was really sick

I then decided I'd want to care for my dad and quit Amazon.

I have severe anxiety and autism. And due to this. My resignation finalised on Monday. But I haven't told UC Yet as I'm really scared about what would happen.

I have a phone call appointment today about how work is going. Could I share it with the person on the call there and ask them to help me update my change of circumstances. Will they be mad I didn't report it straight away. I'm so scared right now and I don't know what to do with my life. Any help on here would be greatly appreciated

I'm scared I'd get a sanction and then I don't know what would happen. I'm making a doctors appointment today for next week so I can find out what's going on with me.

Any help would be appreciated like asked. Many thanks

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) PIP tribunal today — I feel like I’ve messed it up. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I TAKE IT ALL BACK!!! I got enhanced for both and back payment to 2024! I’m so happy! Anyone who’s scared of tribunal do it

I’m in England and had my PIP tribunal today, and I’m feeling absolutely awful about how it went. I’m hoping to hear from anyone who’s been through something similar.
I’ve been dealing with a serious domestic abuse court case recently, and it’s taken up so much of my mental capacity that I honestly wasn’t prepared for my tribunal. I have autism, ADHD, PTSD, fibromyalgia, hypermobility and other health problems, and I’m struggling a lot at the moment.
I submitted over 300 pages of evidence, including my recent autism/ADHD diagnoses, medical evidence, a two-week diary of my daily difficulties, and a detailed explanation of why I believe the DWP’s decision was wrong. I was 2 points short of enhanced daily living and 4 points short of standard mobility.
The hearing itself felt really rushed. They asked me questions about my car, insurance and tax, and I explained that I don’t currently have a car and haven’t been leaving the house except for appointments, which my mum or friends take me to.
They asked how far I could walk, and when they asked about 2025, I explained that I’ve been largely housebound for around five years and have only taken my daughter to the park about 150 metres away around ten times at most. They then moved on without really exploring my physical walking difficulties or the psychological side of my mobility problems.
They repeatedly asked whether my mobility difficulties were physical or mental, and I said both, because they are. But they didn’t really ask me to explain further.
The doctor asked about my medication and how my conditions affect me. I started crying when talking about how much I’m struggling and the lack of support I have. I explained that I pay for carers and cleaners because I’m finding everyday life so difficult. My carer helps me wash every two weeks, and I struggle with changing my clothes and looking after myself.
They also asked me questions about March 2025, but I genuinely struggled to remember things from that far back. I explained that I’m autistic and have ADHD, and that I was finding it difficult to recall everything.
At the end, the judge asked if I wanted to add anything. I ended up saying that I didn’t really understand the tribunal process, and then the hearing ended quite abruptly. I was told they would discuss all the paperwork and make a decision that afternoon, and that I’d receive the outcome in a few days.
I’m now terrified that I didn’t explain myself properly and that I’ve messed up my chances, despite having submitted so much evidence.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s experienced any of the following:
Did you feel your PIP tribunal was rushed or that you didn’t get to explain everything?
Did you struggle to remember dates or answer questions because of autism, ADHD, anxiety or being overwhelmed?
Did the tribunal rely on your written evidence even though you felt you hadn’t explained yourself well verbally?
Did you leave feeling convinced you’d lost, but then receive a positive decision?
If you weren’t awarded what you expected, were you able to challenge the decision?
I’m not asking anyone to predict my result, but I’d really appreciate hearing about your actual experiences. I’m struggling with the uncertainty and could really do with some honest advice from people who’ve been through it.
Thank you ❤️

Universal Credit (UC) Need advice on how to keep UC fit notes attached to a WCA case when seen fit for work, but have requested an MR and going to potential Tribunal in future.

Hello, my name is William and this is my first time ever asking for advice on anything like this before, so I don't know what to expect. Long story short (kinda), in December 2025 I sent off my Capability for Work questionnaire and have been uploading monthly fit notes ever since. It took around 8 to 9 months to finally get my assessment, which was a grueling, honest, and in-depth telephone call lasting over an hour. About 5 weeks later, I got the crushing news that I had been found "Fit for Work". It has been an incredibly hard pill to swallow, and I am struggling to wrap my head around how a decision-maker could reach that conclusion based on what I told them about my severe daily limitations.

What was detailed in that assessment consists of a severe diagnosed anxiety disorder rooted in deep childhood trauma, alongside deep depression, self-hygiene and food neglect, and active suicidal thoughts. They were also told that I suffer from extremely unpredictable and unreliable sleep issues, which makes it impossible to guarantee if I can function in the morning—something that completely prevents me from keeping to a strict work timetable.
Lastly, they were informed about my extreme agoraphobia. I cannot safely or reliably leave the house almost at all. Even trying to go to familiar places or being with a familiar person triggers a full body panic attack with severe physical symptoms. I can have this happen even when i feel safe at home! It has gotten so bad that it is no longer just psychological; it physically harms me and is dangerous.

One more thing to add is that I stressed to them SO much during the assessment about how the Universal Credit system alone has severely deteriorated my mental health. Just dealing with short health phone meetings and updating my monthly fit notes has been way too much to handle. The fact that they looked at all of this and genuinely think I’m fit for work is crazy. They know full well that forcing me to look for work would be a direct risk to my health and my life. There are many other daily struggles I mentioned during the assessment, of course, but I feel these are the most critical things to highlight here.

Anyways, to whoever is reading this and has gotten this far, now you know my situation, I need to bring up what I need advice on. Because I am now viewed on their system as "Fit for Work", I do not know how the fit notes even work and how they are accepted. I have requested a Mandatory Reconsideration today, and if the decision remains the same I will be taking it to a tribunal. Whilst I wait for either of these, I want to guarantee that there isn't any gaps between my fit notes. This is strictly for future evidence but also to make sure if I am awarded LCWRA, that I would be backdated all the way, as I truly believe that is the correct decision and place for me.
But the issue is that now I am seen as Fit for Work, there isn't any place to submit a fit note. Furthermore, if I do use the "Report a Change" way, I am afraid that it will just start a new health journey, send out a new WCA form, and any new fit notes won't even count towards my original case. I don't know if that is silly of me to think it works that way, but I am massively an overthinker and careful, so it wouldn't surprise me. But I think it makes sense.
So if anybody knows exactly how it works in this scenario, and also if anybody has ANY advice at all involving anything you've gathered from reading this, I will gladly accept it.

Thank you to anyone who has spent the time to read this, especially to whoever has reached out to help me, it means a lot!

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Timeline for completed PIP review

I just received the outcome of my PIP review that began in June 2024. Sharing the timeline here for anyone else that might be feeling anxious about the length of time reviews are taking.

'24 June - Received and returned the PIP review form.

~every 2-3 months - DWP text they will process review when they can.

'26 July - Text from 'Health Assessment Advisory Service' they are managing my PIP assessment and might contact me.

'26 Aug - I receive a phone call from the advisory service and ask them to call back later as it was an inconvenient time. I don't hear from them again after this.

'26 Sep - DWP text they've received report from health professional.

'26 Oct - DWP text PIP review is complete, I receive my new award letter about a week later.

This was my first PIP review. I had previously been given a 3 year award of Enhanced/Enhanced following an initial assessment of 0/0 and a failed mandatory review.

My ability to perform tasks has not changed significantly since the initial award but I have been formally diagnosed with Autism. I didn't provide any new evidence.

Following review I've now been given a indefinite Enhanced/Enhanced award.

Although the outcome is the same what I've been awarded points for has changed significantly, I'm not going to be challenging anything but I think it's interesting. I have 0s in some 'daily living' activities I previously scored points in but my overall 'daily living' score is >10 points higher than it was previously. I previously scored 12 in mobility for planning and following journeys which is now 0. I previously scored 0 in mobility for standing and walking and now score 12.

Universal Credit (UC) Hi all, just a quick question: Can I opt out of my Universal Credit claim if we are a joint claim as a couple, so that only my wife and the kids remain as claimants?

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Pip assessment

Hi everyone, I recently submitted a pip online claim, they then gave me the paper version to fill out so my partner filled that out for me and now I’ve got a face to face appointment. Why? I’m worried as others I know haven’t needed to do face to face appointment.

I'm due to turn 35 this month am I entitled it the one bed LHR then in my area as I won't be under 35 then anymore. As rightnow I'm getting the shared accommodation rate for a one bed flat not the full one bedroom rate. If so do I report it to universal credit or do they do it automatically. Also I'm due to be paid Sunday the 1st will it go in Friday ( my first payment with UC)

I get maintenance loan of £12577 and a part of that is sse of £4582, I also told them my course finishes in June.

Is this really the right amount deducted? I thought it would’ve been £700

Universal Credit (UC) WCA - Maximus

Hello, I had my WCA today with a Nurse from Maximus. She came across really lovely. I have both Mental Health and Physical Conditions - my assessment lasted about 45 mins and we only talked about the mental side of things. She said she thought she had enough without needing to go into the physical conditions. She said she would go and check with someone senior and give me a call back to let me know if they needed to continue the assessment or not. She called me back within minutes and said they had everything they needed. Is this a good sign?
How long has everyone waited for their outcome after assessment with Maximus? I know there isn’t a set timeframe.

thanks all.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) How long did you wait for your PIP tribunal hearing? (England)

Hi everyone,

I’m just trying to get an idea of current PIP tribunal waiting times in England.

For those still waiting for a hearing, how long have you been waiting so far since submitting your appeal on the HMCTS website?

And for those who have had their hearing recently, how long was it from submitting your appeal on the website to actually having your tribunal hearing?

I know waiting times can vary, but I’d really appreciate hearing about people’s experiences recently, as I’m trying to get a realistic, rough idea of the wait times.

Thanks!

Universal Credit (UC) Uc appointment

Hi all, I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
For my last UC phone appointment, I waited hours for the call, but nobody rang me. I left messages in my journal but didn’t receive any replies. Then, a day later, the appointment was marked as “attended” and a new one was booked for the following month.

The new appointment they booked for me was supposed to be yesterday. I was waiting for this one because I really needed to speak to my work coach, as she never replies to my journal messages and I haven’t been able to speak to her in any appointments.

I also called the UC helpline, but I was just told to leave messages in my journal, which I’d already done. A few hours later, yesterday’s appointment was marked as “attended” again, even though nobody called me. I’m guessing another appointment will be scheduled.
I’m not complaining; I’m just genuinely curious as to why this keeps happening. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thank you!

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) PIP TRIBUNAL Question.

I never recieved the notice for a PIP tribunal, and have successfully had it set aside with a new date. The letter states that at the original hearing neither party attended.

Should I expect DWP to no show? Is that common?

Motability Cancelling Motability Contract

Hi All, hoping someone can help me with this query. I am currently an appointee for my mother and have a motability car for her through the scheme. The vehicle was received in April 2026. The vehicle is an over 25 vehicle which I solely drive for my mum’s care, no one else is able to be insured on the vehicle due to age and my mum does not drive.

I have moved into a new job role which requires me to have a company car, I would like to return my motability car as I have no space for two vehicles and the company car can be used for personal use so I will use that vehicle for my mum instead.

Can anyone advise whether motability allows for early termination of lease and whether my reasoning for terminating the lease are valid?

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) PIP change of circumstances, what to do now?

I did a change of circumstances because my condition has improved, I explained how it had improved on the form.

They’ve awarded me the exact same points again and extended the length of the award.

Must have been a paper based assessment because they didn’t talk to me at all.

What do I do now?

So I got this text and missed a call today - I was at an appointment. Tried to call back and was on hold for 20+ minutes and had to quit. Is this just the usual ‘anything else to add’ type thing?

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) only scored 2 points mixing with people.

i have severe anxiety which i already have lcwra for.

When i had a phone call assessment i was very anxious and wanted the call over with already so some answers i haven’t gone into as much details and some things said incorrectly like downplayed myself as i could of as have hard time getting myself across on call and was feeling very self conscious during the call after the call was feeling down for days just thinking about how everything effects me.

the worker asked if i have hobbies i said the gym anyways this got used against me, (also asked how many times a week i said about 3) but without the context of that the gym is across the road a 24 hour gym i only go past 11pm-12am it takes me hours to work myself up to go. it’s in a quiet location before this gym opened i stopped going completely for years and bought weights for home.
other then this i do not leave my house, i wont even go to doctors unless my mum comes with me there’s been times in the past i’ve neglected my health many times as my mum wouldn’t come.

i have severe distress whenever im outside so stopped going out al together, i cannot do public transport at all full stop the only way im able to manage going to a hospital is if my mum comes in a taxi with me, i go to a supermarket that’s down my street every couple of weeks at night past 10pm but only use self service other then that my mum does the shopping and gets the door for delivery’s.

ive asked for my PA4 report to be posted they said it takes 10 days,

im feeling disappointed really as i feel i should’ve scored higher ? as its really been effecting my life to a point i cannot do anything and been isolating myself for years.

asking for advice please
