She gonne freak out when she knows my bank account balance.

I honestly say JudyAlvarez, and you?

Cyberpunk 2077 and Red helped me when I was first figuring myself out. Seeing characters like Claire - seeing trans people appreciated in the rules - and being able to explore themes of identity really helped me out.

If you actually read the rule book, Mike Pondsmith mentions trans people at several points. And it becomes clear that the game has an adamant stance on these issues - baked into its mechanics.

I saw mods strip users of flairs… and eventually of free speech. Saw them transform Reddit into a machine fueled by people’s crushed spirits, broken dreams, and emptied karma. Mods have controlled our lives, taken lots… and now they’re after our souls! Choom, I stood my ground not because authoritarianism is a thorn in my side or outta nostalgia for a Reddit gone by. This stand's a people’s stand against a system that’s spiraled outta our control. It’s a stand against the fuckin’ forces of entropy, understand? Do whatever it takes to stop ’em! Remove 'em! Cancel ’em! If I gotta ban, I’ll ban. If I need your karma, I’ll fuckin’ take it! Fuckin’ hell… You still don’t see it. But you will one day.

...

In all seriousness, it's good to be back. From what I was told, the two mods that made their viral mistake have removed themselves from the equation and the rest of us plan to make sure this sub is as safe and inclusive as can be for everyone.

I wish those two mods the best in their ventures of life and look forward to zeroing bigot gonks from cyberspace.

Cheers yall. Stay cool.

He asked me if i could do the rundown, i said becaus eit was a timed answer thing. Anyone have ideas what a "Rundown" is?

Toit.

We're back baby

Claire's one of my favourite characters in the game, which isn't saying much because every character is my favourite character. But in light of recent events, I wanted to show our girl some love. This goes out to everyone who supports women's rights and women's wrongs 💕

Sorry for no illustrated background, I just wanted to do a quick lil piece and backgrounds are more hassle than I was willing to spend today (;ŏ﹏ŏ)

So I have almost 1K hours in this game, and have never had my base cyberware exceed 320. This is my friend's character that is unmodded, completely new to gaming, has not beaten the game or finished phantom liberty.

So how is her base cyberware capacity 349?? 399 WITH the edgerunner perk, and if she took off the netwatch mk1 cyberdeck and put in a tier 5++ chrome compressor she would be at 469? This shouldn't be possible without mods, which I know she is NOT using any.

Character stats are: 15 Body, 20 Reflexes, 20 Technical Ability, 20 Intelligence, and 6 Cool.

I'm genuinely perplexed as I thought the limits were 320 Base, 370 with Edgerunner perk, and 430 with the Tier 5++ Chrome Compressor.

Any ideas anyone??

I'm not going to sugarcoat this, today was a terrible day for us.

Since this subreddit's creation many years before the game even launched, we have removed hundreds of thousands of bigoted comments, and the majority of them were towards Claire.

We want you to know that the moderator Tabnam, who has been the lead moderator of the subreddit for years, has been removed by the decision of our team.

I am so sorry for everything that has happened today. I know very well that words alone do not get the trust back, but please know that we are completely revamping the entire moderation process to be more transparent and community-friendly to avoid anything like this from now on. We are diversifying our team to make it more efficient and, most importantly, to have many voices on an opinion instead of one. If you are interested, we would love to have you on board.

Again, I feel very sympathetic towards your anger, and I am deeply ashamed that this is happening.

I'm so sorry, everyone.

Use this thread here to vent your frustrations about the recent situation.

Need context because you're employed and not chronically online enough?

Long story short, a couple former mods made the decision to ban all posts related to Claire Russel, a trans character in Cyberpunk 2077. They did this out of good intentions- they were tired of all the bigotry people comment under posts about her and wanted to both declutter the mod queue and eliminate the chance for more bigoted discussion. It was not a malicious decision- just an ignorant one. The reception to this decision was unanimous. It was not the right call.

Do we cease discussion about gay people because of homophobes? Nay!

Do we cease discussion about people of color because of racists? Nay!

So should we cease discussion about transfolk because of transphobes? Nay!

Backlash ensued. I spoke out against this decision and was removed as a moderator for a day.

So where are we at now? The sub is in chaos, full of people hurt and confused by everything that has happened.

I figured everyone could use a space to vent about how all of this made them feel, so feel free to use this megathread as just that. A therapeutic ventilation of why trans inclusion matters. Why its wrong to silence discourse about oppressed peoples despite the ones who oppress them being very vocal about it.

Share anecdotes. Share frustrations. Share freely.

We can’t just use this space for trans rights. We need to use it to make sure the hard working IRL dolls out there get their bag safely!

I was a bit upset at her for just, not being upfront about her intent (Like c'mon you really expect me to flinch at offing a Corpo who damn well knew he could die that day in that race?), but NC is a cruel place and the races we did get to do were still fun.

Also, Claire needed a friend and someone to talk to, so ofc I was there and stayed.

This happened on my second play through and before I knew about this event. I had just put together an outfit (different to what I've drawn because it was beans) and went to the mirror to see how it looked but instead of the woman I'd began associating with I saw a muscular man with a beard.

I don't usually have to deal with my dysphoria, I've developed ways to avoid it even without transitioning but this event got me where I was vulnerable. This would be my (and probably others) worst nightmare were it real.

Not a good person per se but I really get her anger towards Arasaka. R.I.P. her dad.

I’m sure that red lighting showed her that D was the real deal.

Call me a tourist that has no idea whats going on, but uhh...
