It has been 2 months since i've started cubing again after ~3 years of break and i went from 35-45 to 22-28sec avg solves. Now i've got this nice scramble (yellow on top):
D R' L2 D' R2 D2 B2 U R2 B2 D B' U' F' D' F' D R' U2
I am not color neutral so i immediately saw this easy white cross:
D' R' U F L2
Then i dont remember what exactly did i do but i remember that after inserting 1 F2L pair, second one was already solved and after the insertion, third one was also solved, then the forth one too!
F2L was solved in ~11 secs, while i average 15-17
I use 2LookOLL and the case i got was pretty bad, first a knee and then a Pi, fortunately no lockups (which i usually have on pi oll), just wasted ~1-2 spare seconds on recognition.
Then i got a T perm which i can execute lightning fast, but i saw 17 on timer and got nervous so i had a few lockups but in the end i still got my new PB and also the first sub20 solve!

Simply the statement above. What do you think the qualifying average will be for top 400 at the upcoming Moyu Wca World Championships in 2027. I’d like to hear a few estimates to gauge where we will need to be.
My guess, if anyone is wondering, is 28

I've been cubing since the early 2010s, and saw hardware develop over time. But my interest rose and fell throughout the years. My engagement with cubing decreased significantly during 2017-2019, which is when magnets in cubes started to become commonplace. That's why I'm asking this question.
Edit:
3x3= Gan 356 Air UM. 4x4 = QiYi WuQue M. Skewb = Moyu Skewb M. Pyraminx = Moyu Magnetic Pyraminx.
Not really sure of the point of this post, just been enjoying twisting a cube for the last few weeks and wanted to engage.
Just discovered that speedcubing exists and wanted to set a baseline before I gave it a go. Made a 2:02.11 - avg of 5 with the beginner solving. I guess the upside is there's room for improvement.
So yeah, hi. Any particularly good resources/things to practice, please let me know about them.
P.S. I ordered a megaminx, because it looks fun and I lack moderation.

i’ve been cubing off and on for about the past 8 years, but after not paying really any attention to the community/technology these past few years i feel kinda lost. when i stopped focusing on cubing, maglev was just becoming a thing, gan was on top of the world, and 3x3 had not yet been taken over by children(pretty sure the last record i paid any attention whatsoever to was max park in 2023). now i look at new cubes with all the ball cores and 136 different magnets and the sudden plummet in wr times by literal children and i’m just wondering what the hell could’ve happened while i was gone
edit: also wondering what top cubes there are now, i remember the gan 12 being the undisputed best cube in the world when i stopped but the few videos i have seen have shown completely different cubes

I wanted to get the community’s opinion on what features people want.
This came from a desire to have a single app with advanced features combining multiple apps like csTimer and CubeTime, and others. The plan is to offer it free, and GPL3.0. iOS only, unless someone wants to port it to Android for me.
At the moment some features that I’ve implemented.
- Timer: timer, distraction free mode, WCA scrambles, preview, competition style, splits, style is based on CubeTime, inspection time, quick shortcuts for DNF and penalties.
- Sessions: session management, stats, historical scrambles.
- Algs: CFOP, algs from various sources, favourites, searching, grouping.
- Tools: Various tools (see image for basic explainer). But to highlight a tool is alg trainer which you can select OLL or PLL cases and train recognition and timing.
- Language: I will try and support all the big communities. So far I have English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Hindi, Portuguese.
- Scrambles use a port of TNoodle library using J2ObjC
- Uses Liquid Glass style since I actually like the look (with option to turn off).
- Accent colors can be adjusted, and there’s either a dark or light mode.
- Support import and export or data (and import from csTimer and CubeTime)
