I have my first interview tomorrow!

It's for an apprenticeship to become a kitchen team leader :)

I love cooking, and I'm excited for this. Hopefully I'll do well in the interview! Will make sure to drink coffee beforehand to be fresh and alert. It's also at a reasonable time of 11:30 am which rocks. And they got back to me in less than a week too!

Can't believe my horrible CV got me the interview. I posted it to reddit and one person genuinely thought it was a joke XD

I'm just so happy. I used to be really sick, and expected to live off benefits for the rest of my life. Now I have a lot of hope for my future.

Thanks for reading. Take care and make yourself a hot beverage if you're in the mood for one! :D

This is awesome! Got permission to adopt a kitten!

I am (18) and here the story (kinda)

I have always been a animal lover but my parents aren’t super keen on animals

I do have a pup that I love very much and she is my everything and my baby girl and my parents love her also

My dog has been super antsy and started bothering us more lately, mainly because I’ve gotten busier with community college and a new job

We as a family decided that it might be time to consider a companion for my pup (my pup is honestly pretty chill with other animals, she has doggy friends she loves and has so much fun with! She also met tortoises before somehow , the thing is she is nawt a fan of animals bigger than her so we had to keep it in mind)

Well my parents didn’t want to get another small dog and… decided that getting a kitten would be the next addition to our family

This is not completely out of the blue btw we have been considering cats for at least a couple months now

And yesterday I finally got the go ahead to go to local shelter sites and look at kittens to for us to apply for!

This is will such a fun and interesting ride :)
Already considered a couple of kittens yesterday but all got adopted! (And that’s okay!)

I made my girlfriend a bouquet of flowers for the first time

I've bought flowers for my girlfriend before, but this time I wanted to do something a little different. I went to a flower shop and decided to put together a bouquet myself instead of just buying one that was already made. I'd never done anything like that before, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Honestly, I was pretty proud of the result, but the best part was seeing my girlfriend's reaction. She absolutely loved it! Never thought I'd be this happy about arranging flowers haha.

Started With A New Therapist

I had a therapist whose office I bounced in and out of since my parents died 26 years ago. This spring I needed support and called to see if she had availability, only for her to tell me she was no longer see clients.

Great. Starting over seemed so daunting.

It's been a few months, and while I've white knuckled my way through it, I knew it wasn't enough. A couple of weeks ago I made an appointment for after our vacation.

The appointment was this morning. I think it went well. I made another appointment for next week. We'll see how it goes.

Managed to cope with something difficult My social anxiety made me hide for a while but I don't want to give up on communicating to people.

Recently I made a YouTube channel to help me deal with my social anxiety. I wanted to speak up and to be brave to use my voice so I posted a video of myself speaking but after 14 hours I took it down because I got so scared... Despite that, I feel like this was a tiny step of pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I will try again. This time I'll make a script and practice trying to sound more confident and less nervous.

I finally stopped waiting for someone to come with me and went out by myself

This probably sounds like the most normal thing in the world, but I actually did something today that I've been avoiding for a long time.

I went out and had a nice day completely by myself.

Usually, whenever I want to go somewhere, I immediately start thinking about who I could invite. And if nobody's available, I just end up staying home.

It's not even that I'm scared of being alone. I just always feel weird doing things by myself, like everyone is going to notice that I don't have anyone with me.

But today I really wanted to go out, and instead of canceling my plans because nobody was free, I just went.

I grabbed something to eat, walked around a few stores, got myself a coffee, and spent a couple of hours doing whatever I wanted.

And honestly? I had a really good time.

Nobody was staring at me. Nobody cared that I was alone. All those awkward scenarios I'd imagined in my head never happened.

I know people do this every single day without thinking twice about it, but for me it felt like a little breakthrough.

I think I've spent way too much time putting my own happiness on hold just because I didn't have someone to share it with.

Today reminded me that I don't always need company to enjoy my own life.

It's a small thing, but I'm genuinely proud of myself.
