Tools/Equipment Bought a second hand TV and it smells of weed.
Hi!
I purchased a TV for our basement, it was a reasonable price which maybe should have tipped me off but it is now very obvious this person MUST have smoked weed near it, up close I smell it.
I currently have it in our guest room with the window open airing it out and I’ve wiped it down to get all the dust of (it was sooo dusty!) any other tips?

Kitchen How do I keep my kitchen sink clean?
Hello everyone, I moved out of my parents for the first time this year and I've been learning how to clean and look after myself for the first time. Some food went down my kitchen sink and has been creating a really bad smell for a couple of weeks now. I've tried pouring a bleached based cleaner down, pouring how water down my sink. I can't think of anything else to try and I can't find anything on google to help. It's tuna and it gets worse and worse everyday. I was just hoping if anyone had advice for me? I can't think of anything else to try and I can't find anything on google to help. I was just hoping if anyone had advice for me?

Laundry Slight yellowing on the underside of socks
I'm autistic and I love these socks and they're my favourite, but the bottom of them is yellowing. It makes me upset and I don't like it. Is there a way to get rid of yellowing at the bottom of socks? Putting them in the washing machine isn't doing anything, and I don't want to do anything that will risk the dyes to run or anything.

Discussion Please help me, are these expectations realistic?
galleryHelp!!
Is this realistic? Would you accept this list of expectations and the length of time that he expects tasks to take?
For context, it is a massive house with 4 individuals. (3 bathrooms, two living rooms, huge kitchen, 5 bedrooms, one laundry room, two main entrances including one main closet at the front that is never organized and one back door).
Two adults and two small children live there. Nobody cleans up after themselves, general tidy is never a “tidy” bc it is always insane, including toys everywhere, clothes all over the floor. Etc.
$20 CAD an hour. 4 hours a day. 4 days a week.
Please help. I am extremely overwhelmed by this.

Discussion SOS: burnt hard boiled eggs, cannot get rid of smell
Long story short, hard boiled eggs were left on the burner all day on low in a pot with the lid closed. I am tremendously grateful that there was no fire. When I discovered them I immediately threw the entire pan away wrapped in several garbage bags. A week later, the smell is still in our apartment even after keeping windows and doors open, air filters on, new HVAC air filter, baking soda left out, charcoal bags left out, fans going, vacuuming and mopping the floors and walls, boiling vinegar with cinnamon and orange peels every day and washing ALL of our clothes.
I’ll think the smell is gone, and then I’ll come home from work just to have it smack me in the face again. Has anyone successfully dealt with something like this themselves? It’s driving us nuts, the professional odour removal companies we’ve called are quoting $1.2k minimum to have it dealt with and we really can’t afford that right now.
Open to any/all tips or tricks!! 🥚

Flooring Vacuum, swiffer, wet rag, dry rag, vacuum??
Hello, I live with my fiancee in a 2 bedroom house in Philadelphia (so the city is relatively dirty). Hardwood throughout, tile in the basement.
Lately I've been trying to clean the floors a bit better than in the past. I decided to just do everything we had on the floors - I vacuumed, wet swiffered, used a wet rag to wet the floors, wiped the water up with a dry rag, then vacuumed again.
As you can imagine, the vacuum sucks up a lot of dirt, the swiffer pad is really dirty, the wet rag and the dry rag are really dirty, and the 2nd vacuum also gets quite a bit. I'm happy I'm pulling up so much, but it feels like I could be more effective.
This takes a little while (~45 minutes?), but it's not so bad.
What's the right combo that I should actually do? We don't have a proper mop and our vacuum isn't the best. We're not going to get a new vacuum as we are moving out in a few months.
As far as prevention for getting the floors dirty, unfortunately I'm at a loss, because we already don't wear shoes in the house, but unfortunately we don't have a mudroom, so I kind of think we just track the dirt everywhere we go in the house anyway, because we have to walk by our front door several times a day.

Kitchen How to fix oven ruined by easy off
Hi guys, I recently used Easy Off Oven Cleaner on a multi functional mini oven. Basically it works as a toaster, air fryer, and oven. But after using the product I have scrubbed multiple times and the entire inside looks tarnished and ruined. I have even steamed an entire pan of water in it and scrubbed while hot and it never looks any better. Basically I want to know if there is any way to fix this, and if not is it still food safe? I am worried there could be some residual toxins from the product that could get into food. Any ideas on how to fix or if you think it is still usable would be so appreciated!

Discussion Should I remove the mold with bleach or white vinegar?
I'm on the internet looking for solutions to remove mold from the bathroom and bedroom and some people say to use vinegar and others to use bleach
I get confused because some say that vinegar doesn't work and others that bleach is super dangerous
I have both products at home and I don't know how to choose the best way to remove the mold.

Bathroom I sprayed my shower with cleaner and forgot
Yesterday morning I sprayed my shower with your standard bathroom grime remover. Thing is I forgot I had sprayed it and never scrubbed or rinsed it out. If I get in the shower this morning am I going to be bombarded with toxic fumes? I have it running now with the door shut while I’m in the other room. Is there anything else I need to do?

Discussion Did a robot vacuum make you pickier about crumbs?
We've had a robot vacuum a few months now and it runs every afternoon. I've noticed crumbs after dinner bug me way more than they used to, probably because the floor is clean most of the day. Three kids so there's always something down there by evening. Before the robot I swept every night and didn't think about it in between. Did having a robot make you more relaxed about the floors, or less?

Not the best photo I know, but any ideas how to get these water stains out of a wooden window sill? I think it’s from plant pots over spilling water.
Thanks!

General Cleaning What tips do you have for changing the quality of your air (freshening it up) in a small apartment with poor airflow?
We live in a 600 square foot apartment and there’s no cross ventilation, only 1 entrance with windows next to it, a small window in the bathroom, and a sliding window in the bedroom. We have a cleaner coming once a month, have air purifiers in each room, large dehumidifiers, and ceiling fans. Aside from running these, getting the apartment professionally cleaned, and keeping windows open with a small exhaust fan, and doing simmer pots? Moving is not currently an option. The air is so stale and cooking smells linger and stick no matter how long the kitchen vent is on. I’m at my wits end. I just want it to not smell like stagnant stale air. I can’t use things like febreze or plug ins. Would scrubbing the walls help? Mopping every few days? It’s just two of us, no kids and no pets, and we are barely home with our work schedules.

Discussion Considering a steam cleaner - thoughts?
My 2 bedroom flat is an absolute state.
I suffer severe depression, and since my mum passed away, 4 years ago come November, I haven't once tidied the entire place.
My old room hasn't been touched since before then as I was living in the lounge to be closer to her should she need me.
Anyway, with that context aside...
I'm considering getting a steam cleaner to just pretty much blast the entire place clean.
Is my plan silly?
