XJ Sunroof help

I’m reworking this sunroof that was sealed shut by the previous owner yet still leaking. I finished installing the roof to sunroof housing but now I can’t seem to figure out if this gasket should be attached directly to the window or to the housing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wish I could help. My MJ has a dealer installed sunroof that leaks badly. Still not sure what I’m going to do.

Yeah I’m dealer installed too :/ I think I’m gonna try to get some good adhesive waterproof tape and try and mount the gasket to the glass see if it does the trick.

Mine was leaking 100% after inspecting from the roof frame to housing but the actual mechanism was sealed off and I’m gonna hope it doesn’t leak lol

My main option might be making an aluminum fill panel. Glue it down with 3M window weld and rivets.

Or try to find a replacement sunroof in a similar size.

I ended up fixing it with that method took the metal clamp off cleared off all the old shit used butyl tape around the edges and ended up sealing that gasket to the housing and I can now open and close the window with no leaks closed 🤘
