Hello thanks for helping in advance, how come on one side of right front tire, I see those small slits, but on the left side of front tire, those small slits are non existent?

I'm aware I need camber adjustments and will get that done soon, but in the meanwhile can these tires last 3 more track days?

Thanks once again.

Great way to end the year with a lap record and class win for Sport 3. Little different of a set up than my normal FK8. That being said the co-driven FL5 was a beast. Car took p1 and p3 for sport 3. Codriving was a bit of a challenge, we only had one group between our run groups (4 and 6) leaving us very little time to swap wheels and cool the car, that being said the FL5 performed great. Mostly identical set up to my car, Tuned, PRL inlet and same rear sway. The owner was able to pack both sets of track wheels and drive all the way from PA to Texas.

Eagles Canyon is a hell of a track, I wish i had some more time in the seat as there is a ton of time left on the table. Clockwise I was able to find pace a bit quicker, that being said I'm looking forward to another chance to go back

Pagid RSL29 - am I experiencing brake fade?

So here’s the deal - I have BMW F82CS, equipped with the BBK from M2 Competition (2NH option). This summer I installed Pagid Rsl29s with proper high temp brake fluid. First two track days I was very happy with the performance of the brakes (the track is very heavy on the brakes with a couple of long straights). First time I found the performance inadequate strangely was on a mountain run. It was a very long run through the Carpathians (Transalpina) - the pedal was very firm but I found the inital bite and general stopping power somewhat lacking. Then on my next few trackdays I found the brake performance fine on the first two fast laps but after 3-4 laps I found very inconsistent stopping power and very poor initial bite. At no point I had soft brake pedal - I step on the brake pedal with all my weight (so to speak) but the brakes take a second to start biting. After a cooldown lap generally the brakes are ok again. So my question is - could this be brake fade due to pads overheating or something else (knockback?, but as I said I ve never had soft pedal feel). The pad thickness currently is maybe 1-2mm more than the backing plate if it matters.

Ferodo ds 3.12 is a hell on discs

Hi there

I'm driving a light low power fwd car and mostly was using ferodo ds uno.

But this time I decided to try ds 3.12 and I was shocked how they eat the brake discs like a chocolate.

They have shaved off about 0.7mm of brake discs out of 2mm available with just 2mm of pads.

For comparison I could use 2 full sets (about 10mm each) of ds uno that have eaten just 1mm of the discs.

The brake discs for my car are very cheap and much cheaper than the pads but still I didn't expect that I have to change them so often now.

Does anyone have the same experience?

How not to drive on a public track day (feat. racing Miatas)

For context: this is the event & group with Open Passing, but the org rules explicitly make the slower cars "help" faster cars with facilitating the pass.

This local Miata crew had a different idea as they were basically wheel-to-wheel, shutting down any reasonable passing attempt.
