askCERN How to network as a student working at CERN to find grad roles?

Hello, I work as a student in a team where the team's main domain is very different from mine. There is a full-time need for the work I provide to them, but because of budget reasons they get this job done through hiring new students every year. My work also needs more expertise than some of the other student positions here, but i don't see them changing anything here.

Because their work domain is different I cannot find enough opportunities to meet new people or teams to find openings for grads that would be similar to my expertise. I'll finish my degree sometime next year. I understand I can directly apply through careers.cern, but as we know, it's more likely for someone being acquainted with the supervising team to be hired. That's how it's been for the rest of the students to grad contracts I've seen here. So what would be the best way to meet potential supervisors?

There's dedicated programs I've attended and such but I haven't come across job networking events here. It's probably also awkward for me to attend team events where my manager talks about the team's work and I end up networking for grad roles.
