Has anyone hear back yet? Chicago?
In consulting at a B4. I’m performing really well, like actually very proud of myself for how I’m doing work/career wise. I’m taking on a lot more within the firm and also stepping up big time when it comes to engagements. However, I feel really “empty” feel like I’m really not “living” my life feels like it’s just work & working out (when I make the time). I feel that I’m pouring so much into work to distract myself from other things in life. Not really sure what the purpose of this post is but just felt like I needed an outlet for this. I feel like I haven’t made any solid relationships since starting at my firm and have just let work and my professional life consume the other aspects of my life.

How to get into Deloitte US tax (PE & HF) ? I have an experience of more than 2 years now, and I’m looking to shift.
Do I wait to become a senior at my current firm or do I make a move now ?

Hello there,
Ive been applying to many Internship and Student positions in finance throughout the last year, and have even secured an Interview at Deloitte and wouldve even secured the position, but due to a Minor abroad (in asia) that i am scheduled to do next year they didnt take me. They said they need someone for the long run (which is understandable) and that i should apply after my minor semesters.
ANYWAYS, although i did secure two or three interviews, most applications either result in ghosting or rejections.
Is it my CV, or is the job market just really trash rn?
(pls be nice 👉🏻👈🏻)
Thanks everyone!

I’m a senior and in my last year of undergrad. I was expected to finish undergrad in May 2027, and I got an internship offer for summer 2027. My recruiter was under the impression that I would return to school to do a MAcc program and get my cpa in 2028. However, I may fail a class (intermediate l). This would push my graduation date to December 2027. I am worried my offer will get rescinded. anyone have any advice and what is likely to happen?

Hi everyone! I recently received Summer 2027 audit internship offers from both Deloitte and EY in their San Jose offices.
I’m from the Bay Area, and my long-term goal is to transition into corporate finance or finance in tech. Since both firms audit different clients, I was wondering which would provide better exposure to tech companies and future exit opportunities.
I’m currently leaning toward Deloitte, partly because of Deloitte University lol, but I’d love to hear other perspectives, especially from those who’ve worked at either firm in the Bay Area. Thanks!

I left my Big 4 job earlier this year for personal reasons (left as SA1). I’ve been job hunting since summer and the market has been brutal. I got rejected by the other Big 4s for the same group, then by BDO, RSM, and GT. After that I started networking broadly and interviewing for anything.
Along the way I got really interested in a niche finance role. There happened to be an opening for it at my old firm. I cold-messaged a bunch of people there, and one agreed to a coffee chat. He was super helpful and said he’d try to show my resume to the hiring team, but no promises and no interview.
Meanwhile, an MD from my old office reached out and asked if I’d come back to my old group at a different office. He’s the one who brought me onto his team through an internal transfer, and he’s always been great to me. Same level, probably same or slightly higher pay.
Honestly, I was relieved when he reached out. But I’m worried that if I go back mainly for financial stability, I’ll just go through the motions and feel guilty leaving for 3–5 years. The work is fine (client-facing, technical, demanding), but exit options are pretty limited unless you go in-house.
I know the niche team is a long shot with my background, but it feels like something’s finally moving. Maybe I’m overthinking it, and an MD probably doesn’t care that much whether an SA1 comes back.
Should I go back, or be honest with him about my interest in the other team?

I have my EYP India’s first interview in a bit, can you please help me how to answer this question as I am sure this will come up. I am applying for senior associate role.
Thanks

Hiya,
I have some interviews coming up at EY.
I also have... some highly appreciated GOOG and AMZN positions. Looks like these are audit clients / "proscribed" / would have to be sold prior to employment... is that right?
Is there any kind of "blind trust" workaround? It would probably be a bit of a dealbreaker if I actually had to sell before joining, given capital gains and all.

She just talked the whole time. Worries me bc I feel like i wasn’t able to make an impression. Has this happened to anyone and they still got the offer?

For those who left the big4 to go to industry. What are you doing now? Is the pay the same or did you take a pay cut?
I am in tech consulting, I focus on integrations in SAP. My degree is computer science but I haven’t touched code in 3+ years. I’m about to become a manager but I’m not sure what would be out there if my only experience is SAP

Has anybody received an offer or rejection for 2027 EY US internships ? I interviewed on the 15th and they said it will be within 10 Business days. I know it’s only day 8.
Does anyone know how is their process is ? Do they send a wave of offers and wait for people to decline before sending their next batch and then in the end send out rejections ?
or
Do they send offers and rejections on the same day.

As the title says basically but would be useful to hear from others who have considered or have made this move.
The PE vals team is to do monthly/quarterly vals, work with deal teams and manage advisors etc. So seems like an interesting role hopefully.
I’ve only worked in b4 vals for about a year but the new role gives me a small pay bump, a lot bigger bonus but moves me from a HCOL to LCOL (so effectively a pay bump).
Would be helpful to know everyone’s thoughts.

I am a staff at one of the big 4 in the US. I can’t count the amount of times a senior just says “do it on copilot”.
Uploading client data, agreements, financials, emails, you name it. Copilot is an umbrella ☂️ for all tasks.
Do they even want us to think or just upload data?
Most of the time I have to come up with the right prompt and go back-and-forth about tedious things it missed.
I like Copilot, but I feel like a lot of people are relying too much on it.
How is using copilot for everything
differentiating us from other firms?

Hi everyone,
I’m a BSc (Hons) Finance, Accounting & Management graduate from the University of Nottingham and an ACCA part-qualified candidate, with 10/13 papers cleared.
I have practical experience in GRC and internal audit, including exposure to compliance audits, risk and control assessments, and audit documentation.
I’m currently looking for entry-level opportunities in Mumbai across the Big 4 : EY, Deloitte, PwC and KPMG, particularly in Risk Advisory, Internal Audit, GRC, Assurance or Core Finance.
If anyone is aware of relevant openings, could refer me, or guide me on the best way to apply and get shortlisted, I’d genuinely appreciate your help.
I’m happy to share my CV via DM. Thanks in advance!

So I was recently hired as a Staff 1 and work has been very slow to the point that I haven't been hitting my billable hours. I reach out to my team and others but things are quiet. Worried about utilization, I was thinking of just billing whatever hrs I am scheduled to bill. Thoughts on that?
Edit: I'm in Audit

Just started as a staff 1 in a more business consulting area 2 weeks ago on my project. My team is all tech consulting, and it’s not in the sector I want at all. The team feels disorganized, and the seniors don’t communicate well at all; it sometimes feels like they don’t know what’s happening, even though everyone has been on the project and is an experienced hire. I’ve been struggling a lot and constantly feel confused and not supported. The project hasn’t been extended yet but likely will later, would it be insane to roll off at the date it’s currently ending, in December even if it gets extended? I’ve just been so stressed and wake up feeling nervous. I’ve been ranting to everyone and cry frequently. It’s not the environment, culture, or work I wanted. My counselor mentioned they would start trying to find potential projects in areas I’m more interested in but I’m unsure on the timeline of that. I would appreciate some perspective on how I should go about it.
