When two basenjis are sparring/tussling/fighting, do you have a name for this stand-on-two-legs posture? I'm just seeking an existing or good term to identify it. All comments welcome. [Pictured are Otto and Edo from 25 Oct 2026 NYC Basenji Meetup.]

A couple of weeks ago we headed down to Dorset Dog Togs for a custom coat for Roo.

It arrived today - he and we are delighted!

And, including postage, it's cheaper than generic off the shelf big box pet store ones I think.

It was £54 all in - and we got to choose colours, lining etc.

Plus he now has his pattern down there so any future coats can be made from that.

Nine basenjis and their friends Dizzy and Harper gathered on a beautiful sunny October morning in Washington Square Park, New York City. Making his first appearance, and helping to set the tone was Yoshi (male, 5-months-old.) He was run around by fellow puppy Otto (male, 9-months-old.) The rest of the crowd (most also running) was Bella Luna (female, 3-years-old,) Bronte (female, 3-years-old,) Edo (male, 6-years-old,) Scout (female, 9-years-old,) Loki (male, 11-years-old,) Kepler (male, 12-years-old,) and Maya (female, 14-years-old.) Also on hand, rescue Dizzy (female, yearling) and shiba Harper (female, 6-years-old.) Starting temperature: 55°F|13°C

Excellent weather and fun times as 6 basenji came together for the bimonthly meet up at S Street Dog Park in Washington, DC.

2 pack members joined the meet up for the first time— Lou and Ollie! The color coats in full effect — 1, tricolor, 1 trindle, 3 red/white and 1 brindle.

Anyone looking to have a basenji meetups up? Just moved to the area we have one 4 year old male and his mother 9 year old female.

My dad laid out this sleeping bag and asked me to roll it up. Jace and Elora are positive he put it there just for them! Try and get them to nap on a dog bed though? Absolutely not! That is beneath them 😂

We've made a new friend in the city. 2nd time we got to meet up with my friend and his dig Chula.

Hello, we’re a family (youngest 16yr) who lives in London who are interested in getting another dog. We have a house in the countryside where we spend our weekends and weeks at a time during holidays with a large garden and miles of coasts and river walks which we would like our dog to accompany us on, easily hours a day of exercise. That being said, when we are London we don’t have as much time, and the dog would have to be left at home alone for hours at a time (once settled in) and walked far less often, for shorter periods, sometimes (though rarely) just let out into the garden, but usually at least a 20min walk every day, though we have a relatively large (for london) garden. Our other dog, a very relaxed Boston terrier with very little exercise needs is somewhat territorial to new dogs, but relaxes after a short while and I am confident she will be fine with proper supervision.

I love my baby girls, but Zoey my red-and-I white Basenji is super nice, but Opal, my black-and-white Basenji has some nighttime aggression issues with growling and possessiveness of her sleeping area. I’ve heard that two female Basenji’s together have these types of issues, but I am just curious if any of you have advice.

Just adopted this week and she is the sweetest and smartest little cuddle bug.
