Black Work Pants - where are we buying from?!

Tokito women’s pants were my fave. Bought in blue years ago. Needed black ones. Bought the same ones a year ago and they are soooooo bad. They stretch like no one’s business and they’re ripping at the pocket seams and belt loops.

I don’t mind splurging I just want a really great pair to wear most days. And black, proper black that hopefully doesn’t fade lol

Vinted hiding cheaper items from the UK?

I've barely used Vinted since the shipping from the UK increased but still look occasionally for brands and items I can't get here. About 4 days ago I found something in the UK I'd been looking for for ages and it was ~$9 plus shipping. Today I looked and noticed I wasn't seeing any cheaper items from the UK. I searched for multiple items I've saved that were less than $10, and nothing comes up. I can only find them in my favourites now.

I can find items <$30 if I'm logged out in a browser not the app, but none of the filters work and I can't find anything less than ~$8 unless it's in my favourites.

I get that Vinted are a business and I kind of expected this sort of thing but it's so sneaky. Since shipping increased to $11+, I've only bought things that were less than $20 because it's not worth it for me otherwise. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a way around it? Most of the brands I like are difficult or impossible to find here so this sucks for me

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Work bag

I know there’s already been a few posts about work bags - sorry I did have a look but couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for.

I’m after a tote work bag that I can fit my laptop and other things in, but I’m really wanting one that stands up on its own, if that makes sense. The one I have at the moment has no structure to it, so as soon as I take everything out, it’s a crumble mess on the floor. Just kind of makes getting a laptop in it a little bit harder at the end of the day than I would like. I also just looked really messy on the office floor.

I don’t particularly want to buy one online, I’d prefer a shop. But if I can’t, I can’t!

Any recommendations? Not too fussed on material or brand. I’m not heavy with my bags so I know it’ll last awhile.

I love Aus-owned kids labels but these new prices hurt

Kids shorts are $60+ now?

Fully aware that it costs a LOT of money to run a small business, I’m not dragging them. I know it must suck for them too and they need to stay afloat. I’ve supported Australian-owned kids labels since I became a Mum, I’m just sad that it’s being pushed out of my “fathomable” price range as a consumer and it’s forcing a lot of people back into fast fashion stores, AKA big corp/non-Aussie brands.

The camo and orange ones are so cute but I can’t comprehend the price for a toddler. Cries in inflation.

Edit: screenshotted brands are Franco’s Dad and Wylde The Label. Incredible 🔥

✏️ Product Review Oroton bag quality is not great or just me?

Is it just me or is the quality of Oroton leather bags not the best/does not wear well? I have never owned an Oroton bag until this year, but I always thought their quality to be good considering it’s an Australian brand. I purchased the Juliette Large Tote back in July from a DFO outlet store and am using it as my baby/nappy bag. The pebble leather on the four bottom corners has already worn off 😔 is it considered normal wear and tear? Does anyone else have a similar experience? Like, will any amount of friction cause pebble leather to peel off? From a tired first time mum who just wanted a chic nappy bag.

Kowtow Archive / Sample Sale

Hi all! I’ve never been to a sample / archive sale before.

Can someone shed light on past experiences regarding lines, availability and other tips?

It would be great if it’s about kowtow or other brands - saw Kloke having one too. Thank you!

Terrible take on Cue/Veronica Maine

Thumbnail

I don't know who Styled by Sally is but her take on Cue closing is terrible. She states that Cue should have aged with her customer instead of staying youth focused.

Cue had a successful 40+ years because they didn't age with the customer, but made a variety of goods that people age 18 - 50 would happily wear. The complaints from this sub about Cue have consistently been;

  1. Synthetic materials when people want natural.

  2. Clothing NOT being work friendly.

  3. Decrease in quality.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Peeps who used to wear Cue to work, where do you shop these days?

Back in Ye Olden Days when I entered the workplace (circa 2012), my favourite place to shop was Cue. My first suit was Cue, and I used to save up to buy their fit and flare dresses on sale.

It's been many years since I've needed professional attire, but I'm back in a professional workplace. I'm bamboozled about how to rebuild my wardrobe. Workwear fashion has become more casual, but I still need to look professional. Cue and VM have gone to the dogs, and most of what I see either looks badly made, cut for a totally different body, or is stupendously expensive.

I'm in the office three days a week. I don't need to wear a suit at all, but my scraped-together wardrobe of "the semi-professional stuff I have that kind of fits and hasn't been eaten by moths" isn't great from a style perspective... or my confidence.

If you're in this camp too, where do you find good stuff these days?

The new Country Road app…

Is anyone else disappointed? Clunky and harder to keep track of spend to maintain tiers. When it first cut over it wasn’t applying free shipping for gold and platinum. Also my birthday and welcome rewards are nowhere to be seen.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Where to buy bras

I’ve been looking for bras , been to big w, Kmart is useless. I don’t have bras and things kind of money right now , I don’t know where else to look other than SHEIN. Is best and less better than big W and Kmart ( as far as sizing goes , quality I don’t mind so much cos I don’t have money to be too picky with that ) ( I’m just out of the standard cheaper ranges in those stores ) ( I’m in Perth btw , )

Thank you.

👗 Look of the Day Henne Photoshoot Styling

I’m definitely out of touch with fashion, so correct me if this is vogue.
Just got a marketing email from Henne - the model is stunning and definitely not her fault - no shade to her!
These shoes fitting the way they do is giving Kmart catalogue not $250 for a singlet

Retailer links going random places - whyyyy

Does anyone else find the way retailers use links frustrating?

Can’t count the number of times I have seen a product advertised on Instagram/wherever, clicked the link and been taken to a generic page for that retailer without the actual product. The integration with Instagram shopping now seems to be making it even worse! I just clicked on a Jo Mercer shoe ad for a specific pair of shoes, and it took me to some weird page with an immediate pop up I had to close.

I want to see the product you’ve hooked me in with!! Not dodge your email signup and then have to navigate your jumpy side menus!

If anyone works in digital marketing can you explain why retailers do this? The Iconic is also terrible for it. Is it because they think I might see another product and buy that as well as the one I went to find? Because tbh I just get frustrated and close the whole tab. At least it’s making it easier for me not to impulse shop!

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Has anyone used this?

Post image
15 Upvotes

I got a sponsored ad today for this shopping wishlist app. Ever since the one I was using closed down (omg 8 months preggo with baby brain and I can not for the life of me remember what it was called - had a red and cream logo) I’ve been wondering if any are as good. Has anyone tried this one called Sortd? Desperate for a good one with good organization. Not too keen about the social part I just need one that I can compartmentalise different wishlists like one for me one for the kids one for stuff to buy as gifts for people. Bonus if it has a price tracker / price drop notification. Keen to hear your thoughts!

So what brands can I actually use The Iconic discount codes on??

Twice recently I’ve been lucky enough to snag discount codes for The Iconic but each time I’ve tried to use them I’ve gotten an error saying the discount is not valid for items in my bag. I messaged The Iconic and they told me that discount codes can’t be used for “marketplace sellers” which seems to be basically every brand they stock….when did this happen?? I used to shop on The Iconic heaps and have never heard of this but it seems pretty dodgy to me…

❗ ID This Outfit does anyone know these jeans?

Post image
7 Upvotes

hi everyone :)

i was out yesterday and saw someone wearing the best fitting most flattering pair of low rise jeans i had ever seen. i wasn't able to ask where the jeans are from because they looked like they were in a rush and i didn't want to intrude. i have tried looking online, pinterest, typing every description i can think of into google but i cant find anything.

i remembered the jeans having a very distinct and pretty stitching on the back pockets, so ive drawn it up here (same colours and pattern type i remember) to see if anyone could identify it. im sure this is an unusual thing to post so i apologise but am completely out of options!

btw the jeans were the same type of colour in the image here.

thank you :)

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Which Aussie mid market work brands are actually good quality and price ?

I feel like there are more australian mid market brands closing. Cue, Sass and Bide, Shona Joy. I feel like its hard to find good quality pieces that are not polyester and cheaply made sold at a high price?

Any recommendsirons? Or reasons why?
