1 Year
Yesterday marked 1 year of closing every ring every day. Between 8,000 - 15,000 steps per day, 30 - 90 exercise minutes depending on workout, and around 800 active calories per day minimum.

I know most of my users for Strength++ came from this sub, so it seems fitting to announce that after 2 years, it now received the biggest update yet.
So, what's new:
So yeah, it's kinda nice, if anyone needs a strength training app without too much hassle and complexity.
Just go to the gym, record, keep track of exercises, sets, reps and weights used, go home, add names to your exercises, maybe use apple intelligence to analyze your workouts and get suggestions for the next one.

Unfortunately, the update does't address the ongoing issues with inaccurate distance calculations for indoor treadmill workouts. My standard 4 mile run took me 4.55 miles to complete 4.0 Apple Watch miles. Very frustrating.

I’d like to preface this by saying don’t judge how low it is please. 2 years ago I was in ICU in complete respiratory failure and may not have survived. Before that I used a wheelchair a lot of the time and after was wheelchair bound. January this year I had a big abdominal surgery and was determined to try and improve my overall wellbeing.
This week I was able to walk 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym, something I never thought would be possible! So yes, it may be low, but I’ve also had respiratory testing in hospital and they’ve said my lungs are the best they’ve been in 3+ years. So hopefully, onwards and upwards💪🏼

I did a 30 minute HIIT cycling class and was in Zone 5 for 10 minutes. Does this seem normal? I don’t work out regularly and typically don’t do intense workouts.

A few people including myself noticed that the GPS was off when we updated to 27.
Now that 27.2 is out, has anyone tested it out on a run yet?

i started wearing my apple watch to bed about six months ago and at first it was cool to see the data. but now every morning the first thing i do is check my sleep score and if its bad my whole day starts off wrong. like i FELT fine until i saw a 68% and now suddenly im tired.
ive tried just not looking but its right there when i raise my wrist. ive tried turning off the sleep focus but it still shows the summary.
has anyone actually found a way to keep wearing it for the alarm and silent taptic wake but NOT see the score? or did you just stop wearing it to bed entirely? i feel like the data is making my sleep worse not better which is so backwards

After long development and testing, Apple Health is now available as integration.
Holt will show your data in a nice and friendly way. You just go into settings and enable it.
Holt also has "Holt Coach" that will prepare you for your next big race. It is a deterministic engine and not some AI or ML model where nobody knows what is going on behind it. This approach ensures same output with same input which makes sure it is consistent.
Holt is a pet project of mine and something I wanted to do for a long time.
It is free for everyone, and will be. This app that you see and feature it has right now will always be free no matter what. I won't be running involuntary ads, so don't worry about that 😄
You can join Holt's Discord server and follow on Instagram (links are in the App's settings)
I see there is no promotions rule, but I thought since the app is free and I don't earn anything from it, it is okay. I am sorry if I broke the rules.
Anyway, happy training, and thanks for reading.

When I started Zone 2 training, the standard “220 minus age” zones were way off for me. My Watch said Zone 2 when I was barely working. A few things that helped:
I built a small iPhone and Apple Watch app around that, called PulseZones. It does custom zones, weekly zone goals, and a live zone on the Watch, and it pulls from any workout saved to Apple Health. I’m a solo developer.
I’d really like feedback from people who train by heart rate. What’s confusing, what’s missing, and what would make you actually use it?
To say thanks, I’ll DM a free Lifetime Pro code to anyone who comments and is willing to try it and tell me what they think.

Finally got my boss to say yes to a walking pad at work lol. I've been using a deerrun pad under my desk for about two weeks now.
Today I got 90 minutes of walking in the morning just answering emails and doing my usual work. I used to spend most of the day sitting, so seeing that number on my Apple Watch was pretty satisfying!

The watch gives every workout an effort score and lets you adjust it afterwards, and honestly I mostly just leave whatever it guessed. I get the idea, it compares the last 7 days against the last 28 so you can see if you're ramping up too fast, but I'm not sure how many people really look at it.
Do you bother rating your sessions? And has it ever actually changed what you did that week, like backing off a bit or pushing more because it said you were below your usual?

Hi,
I’m considering buying WorkOutDoors but have a quick question about music controls.
Can you swipe left during a workout to access music controls, like in the native Apple Workout app? And can you adjust the volume using the Digital Crown?
This doesn’t work in Strava, but it does in Vanoor, so I was wondering if WOD supports it too.
Also, would you recommend WorkOutDoors over Vanoor, or vice versa?
Thanks!

What is the best way to use the bowling workout on Apple Watch?
I bowl twice a week but it artificially ups my data even when I’m sitting waiting to bowl.

7/23 I was 27.4. Started working out and it began creeping up but I was stuck in below average for over a year while it crept up. Now it’s moving a lot easier and I’m running a lot faster.
