My son is about to enter 6th form age next school year and we tried to get him into a private school but his marks just arenβt going to be good enough so we will have to settle for 6th form which Iβm not super mad about because I think there is some merit in modern day public schooling, itβs just a matter of choosing the right one!
Based off what Iβve heard of Rudge Park it seems to be a good school. Iβve heard that at the first day of the school year the 6th Formers all meet up at the local pub and get drinks, I guess theyβre provided with fake IDβs. They also have non uniform day for Years 12 and 13 which I think is a good concept, a bit of freedom for the older students, they also host a 6th form Christmas party every year where the school allows the students 2 alcoholic drink tokens which is a great concept for preparing the students for the real world. Iβve also heard they do educational field trips to places like Swanage, they have the Duke of Edinburgh program as well as work experience, and they also host charity fashion shows to support sick children. Itβs also based close to the Waterside shopping Centre which my nephew and his friends like to go to after school.
What do we think? Is anyone a past student that has something good to say about the place?

Hey, anyone who got A* in both OCR chem and Edexcel maths can you please give me any advice about how you revised in year 13. Are there any good set of flashcards that you used for chemistry and is it beneficial to practice madasmaths questions. Also what was your daily schedule like around this time of the year and leading up to the exam season. I am really confused rn, struggling to make a routine that I can stick to without burning out but also not sure how or when to start revising, I havent really reviewed anything in a while (4 months). Pookie pls help. Im resitting rn, I was very close to an A in chemistry and I burned out while revising for maths which is funny because I used to be really good at maths but sucked at chem and I was struggling alot with my mental health at the time thats mainly why I messed up. Anyway I'd really appreciate any help you offer. >,< If you help me I'll sing you twinkle twinkle little stars or whatever nursery rhyme you want. (heart emoji)

I'm a Y13 applying for Oxford Maths. There are only a handful of official TMUA/ESAT papers, so I started writing my own, deliberately harder than the real thing, inspired by JZ style, and practised on them.
I sat the TMUA recently and it genuinely paid off: I stayed calm the whole way through because there wasn't a single question type I hadn't already seen, although there were slight variations and nuances.
So I've put everything on a site:
- TMUA mock sets with full worked solutions (500+ new TMUA questions available for free)
- 13 free ESAT papers (Maths 1, Maths 2 and now Physics), 27 questions in 40 mins, no calculator
- Interview simulator with a free AI interviewer which provides feedback and grades your responses.
- Olympiad preparation, including my Geometry book Beyond the Incenter, which is published on Amazon KDP.
- Diagrams typset in tkz-euclide in solutions
No sign-up needed: kevinvariant08.github.io
Would genuinely love feedback, especially if a question is too easy, too hard or just wrong. Good luck to everyone sitting ESAT and TMUA January and hope this helps!π«‘

So last night I got a dream that I got an offer from Warwick. I am now worried why didn't I get cambridge or imperial offer in my dream. Does this mean I am getting rejected from cambridge and imperial?

hey gang im so stuck between bristol philosophy and politics and manchester BASS philosophy and politics as my safety can I just get opinions
pros of bristol is that its a BSc degree so its more analytical philosophy which I prefer, and more respected for corporate law increasing the chances of me actually getting a job
cons of bristol is that its known to be quite snobby and not diverse at all which I am used to so wont be unbearable but still, and is a LOT more expensive which is a big issue
pros of manny is that it's very flexible so I could look into sociology or criminology and if I decide I dont wanna do what im currently doing I could switch, also decently cheaper but still a big city life, significantly lower grade requirements (BBC)
cons of manny is that its less respected for law, degree probably less respected as a bachelor of social sciences vs a BSc, im already applying to another manchester course so might seem pointless to have another one Idk

English student btw,
A in AS maths but a C (one mark off a B) in AS physics (I had extenuating circumstances for the C but I donβt want to report it to my school)
My school makes us sit AS exams for our Alevel predicted grades.
I did a mock in year 13 and I got an A* score so Iβm now predicted an A.
My predicted grades are AβοΈ * maths AAA physics, fm and my 4th unrelated subjec*t
Iβm looking to apply to Edinbrugh, UCL, st Andrewβs, bath for physics. Would I be disadvantaged in this exam cycle since I have to report my AS grade to the uni? im applying for physics
I also sat Alevel maths in year 12 (against my wish) but my school is going to mention my resit in my reference as I didnβt want to sit the Alevel a year early.

So im international and im planning to apply for CS in jan 2027. These are my choices as of now -
Imperial
UCL
Kings
Manchester (UoM)
and ig LSE(data science).
Im not sure if my choices are good. Many ppl have told me Warwick and Edinburgh are excellent choices but they are a bit far from London so networking isnt as good.
Can anyone pls suggest what my choices should be in regards of internship opportunities, safety in living and overall better places as i have no idea?

A lot of ppl got mad about my other ranking, so I've made a new one.
UK-focused rankings:
Complete University Guide 2027 = 25%
Guardian University Guide 2027 = 20%
Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027 = 15%
International rankings:
QS World University Rankings 2027 = 20%
Times Higher Education World Rankings 2027 = 20%
Therefore UK rankings influence 60% of the evaluation, whilst international rankings influence 40% of the evaluation. As well as this, I took into account research excellence and graduate employability.
University Rankings FINAL:

Is this too ambitious? I had 5th option that did not matter too much which is why I have applied Imperial (I'm aware the average offer is A*AA). Additionally does anyone know if anyone has got into Imperial materials with AAA?
