5/5 from Warwick, Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff and Leicester

My son is about to enter 6th form age next school year and we tried to get him into a private school but his marks just aren’t going to be good enough so we will have to settle for 6th form which I’m not super mad about because I think there is some merit in modern day public schooling, it’s just a matter of choosing the right one!

Based off what I’ve heard of Rudge Park it seems to be a good school. I’ve heard that at the first day of the school year the 6th Formers all meet up at the local pub and get drinks, I guess they’re provided with fake ID’s. They also have non uniform day for Years 12 and 13 which I think is a good concept, a bit of freedom for the older students, they also host a 6th form Christmas party every year where the school allows the students 2 alcoholic drink tokens which is a great concept for preparing the students for the real world. I’ve also heard they do educational field trips to places like Swanage, they have the Duke of Edinburgh program as well as work experience, and they also host charity fashion shows to support sick children. It’s also based close to the Waterside shopping Centre which my nephew and his friends like to go to after school.

What do we think? Is anyone a past student that has something good to say about the place?

So last night I got a dream that I got an offer from Warwick. I am now worried why didn't I get cambridge or imperial offer in my dream. Does this mean I am getting rejected from cambridge and imperial?

I went to the open day on Saturday and I literally asked how long they take to send out offers and now I've got mine!

BSC ECO KCL BREADD. If anyone wants my qualifications im sorry but im an international student studying cbse board so the a level or gcse equivalents are hard to estimate. BUT BREADDDD

Weightings

UK-focused rankings:
Complete University Guide 2027 = 25%
Guardian University Guide 2027 = 20%
Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027 = 15%

International rankings:
QS World University Rankings 2027 = 20%
Times Higher Education World Rankings 2027 = 20%

Therefore UK rankings influence 60% of the evaluation, whilst international rankings influence 40% of the evaluation. As well as this, I took into account research excellence and graduate employability.

Idk how it is for STEM but for humanities it literally feels like you have to change your entire cognitive ability to achieve an A* its so tedious bro💔

So im international and im planning to apply for CS in jan 2027. These are my choices as of now -

Imperial

UCL

Kings

Manchester (UoM)

and ig LSE(data science).

Im not sure if my choices are good. Many ppl have told me Warwick and Edinburgh are excellent choices but they are a bit far from London so networking isnt as good.

Can anyone pls suggest what my choices should be in regards of internship opportunities, safety in living and overall better places as i have no idea?

Which will open more opportunities in AI or quant in 2030?

Quite brief, got a high B in my maths mock, accidentally skipped a page of questions and realised too late, and also crappy time management. On my further maths mock I got an A*.

I'm a private candidate, so there's a bit of an issue if I try and negotiate with the centre I did my mocks with as they have literally no idea who I am 💀 is there a chance I could ask them to predict me an A* in my maths if I've technically redeemed myself in my further maths mock exam??

My course requires an A* in maths and AA in 2 other subjects and I don't know if I'd get auto rejected if my predicted grade was to be put as an A for maths. They normally predict the grade above which is what they've said. I feel like such an idiot because I just have no idea how I've put myself in a crappy situation like this

yayayay safety secured

Pretty chuffed about this :)
