Discussion Confused by the narrative about Yaxel's age

The facts that he's 24 and played 6 years of college (fresh off of an NCAA championship) are the exact reasons he's capable of playing like a first option on an NBA team containing Steph Curry straight away. We have basically acquired a top 50 level player on a rookie contract for the next 4 years. This is absolutely the best case scenario for any team under the current CBA. Am I taking crazy pills?

Discussion Yaxel Lendeborg is going to be a Superstar in the NBA

Four games in averaging 21.8 pts, 9.2 rebs, 4.8 assists and 45 FG%. Combined with a joyful swagger and confidence, this is how future stars enter the league. We finally drafted another one.

Discussion Something about yesterday..

Not sure if its just me or not, last night was the first time someone outshined Curry on our team. For the first time in years, Curry looked quiet even with a perfect night. Yaxel outshined him completely. Not knocking on our chef, but this is very exciting for the franchise. Anyone else?

the fact that yax asked for advice from some of the legends is pretty cool, love it.

Other TIL: Since it's all about Yaxel tonight, I found it interesting how many players on our team speak Spanish.

During the NBA Showtime postgame interview, McGrady spoke some Spanish to Yaxel (like Shaq trying to speak Serbian to Jokic). It got me curious and from what I searched, Yaxel, Gui, Horford, And Porzingis all speak Spanish fluently.

Discussion Is Yaxel going to be the reason why there's hope and this season might be more interesting?

I know it was just one game but you can see his impact. He really takes a major load off everyone, is young, and is that go to guy this team has been missing for so long. They might still just be a borderline playoff team but they might be more enjoyful to watch and the future looks bright which is something we haven't felt in a while.

News In His First 4 Games, Yaxel Joins Elite Company

Associated Press reporter Josh Dubow shared the historic stat line: Lendeborg joins an elite, historic group of NBA players who achieved at least 87 points and 37 rebounds in their first four career games.

Player - Rookie Season

Yaxel Lendeborg 2026–27

Shaquille O'Neal 1992–93

David Robinson 1989–90

Patrick Ewing 1985–86

Terry Cummings 1982–83

John Drew 1974–75

Sidney Wicks 1971–72

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 1969–70

Elvin Hayes 1968–69

Walt Bellamy 1961–62

Oscar Robertson 1960–61

Wilt Chamberlain 1959–60

Lendeborg cemented his spot on this list following a breakout 31-point, 12-rebound, and 6-assist performance against the Denver Nuggets to help secure the Warriors' first win of the season.

Discussion Having someone this polished on a rookie scale contract is the best upside for Yaxel

It's very apparent that Yax is the most polished player fresh out of the draft the team has drafted since maybe Draymond. If Yax has as high of a ceiling as I hope he does, then having him be this good for the duration of his rookie contract gives the team so mucb flexibility to sign some big names.

If Dunleavy and the FO pull it off, we might have something truly special in the next few years. Personally, I hope its an elite center.

My guy is averaging 22.4 pts, 9.5 reb, 3.5 ast, 2 stl, and 6.1 personal fouls per 36 minutes on 50/100/83 splits. Maybe we don't need a center after all.

Discussion Warrors in 4K on YouTubeTV yesterday

I loved seeing the game last night in 4K on YouTubeTV. It looked better than any basketball game I've seen on TV, close to having really good seats in the arena.

A couple years ago I tried YouTubeTV's 4K (IIRC during the Olympics), but it looked like HD not 4K. Last night's 4K was dramatically better resolution, so I could literally see more of what players were doing.

Thankfully I got the first month free, because it's only 4K on NBCSN (NBC Sports Network), not NBCSBA (NBC Sports Bay Area), and the only other NBCSN Warriors games this season are these:

Mon, Feb 1, 2027 vs. Spurs 7:00 pm, and Mon, Feb 15, 2027 vs. Pacers 4:30 pm. So I plan to sub again for February ($9.99).

Discussion No AE tmrrw due to surgery

Anthony Edwards is gonna miss tomorrow's game due to knee surgery. That Timberwolves team seems a lot less scary now.

What would be a good gameplan/matchups for tomorrow if say, it's Ayo Dosumnu starting in place of AE? The team will lack a LOT of on ball creation now, so that should be something to take advantage of.

Discussion I have hope

Just imagine how good our lineup will be the 3 games we'll have with this lineup after Jimmy comes back January

Steph, Yaxel, Jimmy, Podz, Porzingus,(Draymond?)

With a decent supporting cast of Moody, Gui, Melton, Horford, gp2, Brandon Williams, Will Richard, etc

We'll genuinely be unbeatable those 3 games.
