Discussion Trade for Porzingis

Can we realistically get Miles Turner? I mean he is a legit rim protector and a decent 3-point shooter, and he can bolster our front court depth. Can we get him now and not wait till next year? What are your thoughts? If not him then who can we trade for KP???

Discussion Who wants to Start a Controversy 👋

Post image

All his teams were stacked too with the exception of his first finals team. LeBron’s a bottom top 10 player & there’s a lot of strong arguments for this. Probably the most overrated superstar in NBA history.
People need to understand that assignments/rolls versus winning are two different things in any professional sport.
For example: LeBron James in his career due to his skillset, was given a role by the coach to score, pass, and rebound. There is no denying that he is a sensational talent. **Same role Russell Westbrook was given in his prime, by the way.
Steph Curry has been given a role by the coach due to his skillset to shoot anywhere on the court/play-make and look for the open man.
Yet… both LeBron & Steph have the exact same amount of championships. Why is that?
What Steph is good at LeBron can’t do. What LeBron is good at Steph can’t do. Therefore, since PLAYERS play to win the game, which strength from each player translates to winning? Cuz in the end, putting up a bunch a points in a loss means nothing if you didn’t win the game when it mattered most. and by the way… championships are the pinnacle point of winning.
Only difference in this scenario: Steph Curry won 2 rings with way less help than LeBron ever had in his career. You can compare Steph’s 2022 championship team to LeBron’s last Cleveland team he had in his first stint. The Cavs in 2010 were in first place & went 61-21. Steph’s Warriors finished 3rd place & went 53-29.
Yet Steph Curry still won a championship against a powerful Boston defense (That Durant lost to with a superteam) while LeBron in 2010 lost in the playoffs & ran to Miami.
Steph Curry is a greater player than LeBron James, because his game translates to actual championships while LeBron James’s game results in stat padding. By the way, how many championships does Kevin Durant have since he left the Warriors?
This is why LeBron needs highly talented Superteams to win a championship. While Steph Curry just needs bubblegum, a paperclip, and a hammer 🔨 and he’ll go get you that W when it matters most. Steph Curry not leaving Golden State, and running through the fire this season further proves this message.

Discussion How Can Steph Adapt His Game?

For over a decade, when Steph is on the floor, the foundation of the offense is him and his movement.

Looking to the future, the foundation of the offense has to at some point start to center on other players/concepts.

They could wait until Steph retires to implement that, but what if he participated in the transition? What could the core concepts be, what could the offense look like, how could they leverage Steph to enable that?

Discussion Yaxel > Giannis

I’m glad the Warriors didn’t trade for Giannis. Considering it would gut their starting lineup and bench, cost them the chance to make a pick in this year’s draft, and require them to give up at least 3 first round picks, I’d choose Yaxel any day.

Discussion Is yaxel the second coming of LeBron?

• Upvotes

I know it’s early but bro is tearing up the league. Have we ever seen a rookie this dominant? I know people talk about his age but it’s his first few games and he’s versing proper rosters so I think his age is less of a factor compared to what people are saying. If he develops a bit more, I think a discussion might have to take place.

Discussion I have hope

Just imagine how good our lineup will be the 3 games we'll have with this lineup after Jimmy comes back January

Steph, Yaxel, Jimmy, Podz, Porzingus,(Draymond?)

With a decent supporting cast of Moody, Gui, Melton, Horford, gp2, Brandon Williams, Will Richard, etc

We'll genuinely be unbeatable those 3 games.

Analysis The Brandon we need.

With Yax taking a lot of second unit scoring pressure off BP I hope it will allow him to play a lot like he did tonight taking good shots, not turning the ball over, and limiting the hair on fire drives to the rim. He definitely has to be a Robin to someone’s Batman and I think him getting paid has allowed him to be comfortable while not trying to force the I want to be a star hero plays. 18/7/5 0 turnovers needs to be what shoots for. I’d like settle for 15/5/5 on a consistent basis though 🤔😂

My guy is averaging 22.4 pts, 9.5 reb, 3.5 ast, 2 stl, and 6.1 personal fouls per 36 minutes on 50/100/83 splits. Maybe we don't need a center after all.

Discussion Is Yaxel going to be the reason why there's hope and this season might be more interesting?

I know it was just one game but you can see his impact. He really takes a major load off everyone, is young, and is that go to guy this team has been missing for so long. They might still just be a borderline playoff team but they might be more enjoyful to watch and the future looks bright which is something we haven't felt in a while.

Four games in averaging 21.8 pts, 9.2 rebs, 4.8 assists and 45 FG%. Combined with a joyful swagger and confidence, this is how future stars enter the league. We finally drafted another one.

Discussion Confused by the narrative about Yaxel's age

The facts that he's 24 and played 6 years of college (fresh off of an NCAA championship) are the exact reasons he's capable of playing like a first option on an NBA team containing Steph Curry straight away. We have basically acquired a top 50 level player on a rookie contract for the next 4 years. This is absolutely the best case scenario for any team under the current CBA. Am I taking crazy pills?

Not sure if its just me or not, last night was the first time someone outshined Curry on our team. For the first time in years, Curry looked quiet even with a perfect night. Yaxel outshined him completely. Not knocking on our chef, but this is very exciting for the franchise. Anyone else?

Discussion People sleeping on Podz

As hands down amazing as Yaxel was all game, and Steph was in the second half, Podz was the tonesetter and played like I've never seen him play before.

He took his shots without thinking. He defended with aggression, and he never double-guessed his options, just went for it. He even took a heat check in the first quarter.

He ended up with a +33 and had a damn near perfect game.

Enjoy the love Steph and Yax, but Podz set it all up time and time again. I feel so confident when he's on the floor now. This is his year.

Discussion Warrors in 4K on YouTubeTV yesterday

I loved seeing the game last night in 4K on YouTubeTV. It looked better than any basketball game I've seen on TV, close to having really good seats in the arena.

A couple years ago I tried YouTubeTV's 4K (IIRC during the Olympics), but it looked like HD not 4K. Last night's 4K was dramatically better resolution, so I could literally see more of what players were doing.

Thankfully I got the first month free, because it's only 4K on NBCSN (NBC Sports Network), not NBCSBA (NBC Sports Bay Area), and the only other NBCSN Warriors games this season are these:

Mon, Feb 1, 2027 vs. Spurs 7:00 pm, and Mon, Feb 15, 2027 vs. Pacers 4:30 pm. So I plan to sub again for February ($9.99).

Discussion Yaxel Leads Warriors With 31 in Blowout Win

Dubs move to 1-3 after defeating Nuggets on Monday night

The Warriors got their first win of the season Monday night against the Nuggets, winning handily 134-114.

The biggest story of the night is Yaxel Lendeborg. The broadcast called him the best rookie they’ve seen, for the second night in a row. The man is quickly becoming a double-double machine, as he totaled 31 points (!) and 12 rebounds. Perhaps most impressive to me, though, was the passing (6 assists on the night). His vision is absolutely off the charts for a rookie and is what makes me bullish on his star potential.

I guess I should also mention that Steph had 24 points and was a perfect 8-8 from the field. It was great to see a game from him with this kind of energy. His hands were active on defense, and you could see him directing guys out on the perimeter.

Kerr is still playing more three-guard lineups than I’d like. The team shot 22-44 (50%) from 3-point range, which helped cover up for our lack of size. At one point we had a lineup of Steph, Melton, GP2, Niang, and Draymond. The average height of that lineup is 6'4"... and they immediately gave up an 8-0 run in the first quarter.

But I don’t want to harp on the issues on a night this fun. Podziemski also deserves some love, as he finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and ZERO turnovers. (He was also a game-high +33.) The kid is simply a gamer, and seems to have gotten stronger over the offseason. I was really impressed with his verticality on defense this game against Jamal Murray.

When the game finished up, it cut to Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, and Carmelo Anthony for the postgame show. I know we’re not overly high on Yaxel because they could not shut up about his performance. I told some of my friends before the season that Yaxel was a lock for All-Rookie First Team, but that alone was selling him short. What a fun start it’s been to his NBA career.
