Political The War With Iran was 100% Necessary
I will write this post in predictable response/answer format.
All of this could have been avoided had the Iranian leadership given up its nuclear program instead of stubbornly refusing.
Muh: We had no right to make any demands on Iran. Other countries have nuclear programs.
Answer: Yes, but those countries have not spent the past few decades funding terror and killing and threatening American citizens.
Muh: We already had a robust system in place, with the IAEA ensuring Iran didn’t breach its obligations.
Answer: Then why was Iran enriching uranium to 60%? Civilian reactors use 3 to 5 percent. Medical and research use goes up to about 20%. There was absolutely no need, zero, to enrich to that level unless they wanted a weapons option. They also refused deals to have the uranium enriched by outside sources and shipped back into the country.
Muh: But Israel is a genocidal state.
Answer: No jihadibots on my post.
Muh: Trump soils himself. Why won’t he release the Epstein files?
Answer: Not relevant to my post.
So yes, the war has caused higher gas prices and some economic pain, but at the end of the day, there was absolutely no choice. This despotic regime could not continue on the path they were on. The fact that murdered tens of thousands of their own people should be enough insight into their mindset.

SWANA Politics Why is Iran so reasonable?
I am consistently surprised by Iran. The US bombed a wedding for no reason, killing innocent civilians. Iran responds with bombing a military base, proportional response against hostile military forces
Now Iran is firing warning shots and holding back its deadliest missiles, showing capabilities without killing. They are announcing their blockades and conditions for ships well in advance. They are allow the US to smuggle ships because destroying them would pollute their gulf
Obviously I understand their treatment of women and other groups is terrible. No Theocracies should exist. Not defending domestic policies

Is Iran's economy really collapsing?
I'm a Westerner and see a lot of reports about this.
However, I'm skeptical as these are from the same sources that said the Russian economy was collapsing in mid 2022 and have continued to declare its imminent collapse perpetually since then.

Political Question Why is the Iran War so unpopular?
Iran supports terrorism and is capable of building nukes. I hate Trump, but I’m very confused why it hasn’t gotten more support.
