Corinne Kernan Sévigny, of the Canadian Women's Army Corps
"I can remember that my poor parents were often asked how they could let their only daughter join the army. Even my friends, friends of the same age as me would say that I was completely crazy, that it was just something that wasn’t done."
At only 16 years old, Corinne Sévigny enlisted with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps during the Second World War. Sévigny served as a driver and was one of millions of women who helped with the war effort either overseas or at home: https://thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/mpsb-corinne-kernan-sevigny-primary-source
