My mom's new boyfriend is Dracula and i'm cooked.

He’s tall, has dark hair, and is really, really creepy. Ugly too (although my mom does not think so because i heard them kiss and i about threw up).

His name is Vladimir. VLAD-IMIR!!! And i'm the only person in this family who thinks that's a red flag.

The second was that he didn't show up in the TV's reflection when he came over for the first time. My friend Howie and i even followed them to their first date at the movies and he didn't show up on camera (we got yelled at by a boomer who needed to relax).

i tried telling my brother, but he doesn't believe me... will you?

Non-Fiction After six years of research and writing, my first book about premortem thinking is finally here

Today, my first book, The Upside of Downside Thinking: A Premortem Approach to Better Decision Making, is officially out through ATD Press.

The idea started with a TEDx talk I gave in 2019 about decision-making. That led me down a rabbit hole of researching psychology, cognitive biases, business failures, and why smart people and successful organizations sometimes get blindsided by problems they could have anticipated.

Eventually, that research became a book about a simple but powerful idea: What if we could learn from failure before it happens?

The book explores a technique called a premortem. Before making an important decision, you imagine it has already failed and work backward to figure out what went wrong. The goal isn’t to become pessimistic or avoid taking risks. It’s to spot blind spots, challenge assumptions, and give your decisions a better chance of succeeding.

It’s been a long, occasionally frustrating, but incredibly rewarding journey to get this thing into the world. I’m excited that it’s finally here!

If you’re interested in decision-making, psychology, leadership, or the reasons things go wrong, you can find the book here:

https://www.theupsideofdownsidethinking.com

Happy to answer any questions about the book, the research, or the process of writing it.

Non-Fiction Why I Wrote The Purpose Seekers

• Upvotes

I’ve spent more than 35 years working in business, built 12 businesses, and worked with more than 75 founders and business owners.

I’ve seen ambition create extraordinary things. I’ve also seen how easily people can become trapped by the very things they’re trying to build.

When you’re running a business, growing a company, or pursuing a career, it’s easy to become consumed by the next milestone. Revenue. Growth. Recognition. The next problem to solve.

But there’s a question we don’t always stop to ask:
Are we building something that reflects who we really are, or are we simply getting better at pursuing what we think we’re supposed to want?

My work with founders has repeatedly brought me back to the relationship between identity, beliefs, decisions, and purpose. Those conversations, together with my own professional experience, became the foundation for The Purpose Seekers.

I didn’t want to write another book that simply tells people to find their passion, follow their dreams, or discover one grand purpose that will answer every question.

I wanted to explore something more practical.
What if purpose isn’t a fixed destination? What if it evolves as we grow, learn, question our assumptions, and make different choices?

And what if the business we build, the decisions we make, and the person we become are more connected than we realise?

That’s what I invite readers to explore in this book.
I’m sharing it for free during selected Kindle promotions because ideas are most valuable when people can engage with them, challenge them, and decide what they mean in their own lives.

If something in these questions resonates with you, I’d be glad to have you read it.

I have have three promotional windows:
October 29–30, 2026
November 21, 2026
December 17–18, 2026

Honest reviews and feedback are always welcome.

Not Hollow - Cover

Two astronauts. One small robot. A mystery that spans centuries.

IT’S 1989: Two astronauts become the first humans to walk on the moon. Then the world goes silent.

Commander Finn Strause and Laura Fraser were meant to plant a flag and come home heroes. Instead, they find something waiting in the dust, something that shouldn’t exist, and the journey home becomes a journey they were never prepared for.

Something is coming for everyone. Not a war. Not a weapon. An ending. And an unlikely crew is tasked with stopping it, helped by a robot named Lumo, who holds answers they can’t yet fathom.

From a quiet base in the Karoo to the surface of Mars, from forgotten corners of history to the edge of everything, Not Hollow is a story about the people we lose, the people we find again, and a question older than the stars: Is it hollow?

Adult - Thriller Search for Redemption: Code 419 (available on Kindle Unlimited)

Pitch

A young man under the thumb of the criminal justice system since age 14 finds himself free of all supervision, save the Texas sex offender registry.  Naïve, struggling to find himself without the security of a probation officer and anxious to prove his value to society, he answers an internet scam from Ghana, only to discover a captive woman begging for help. Risking his freedom and life, he crosses the Atlantic on a dangerous rescue mission against a ruthless cyber-extortion syndicate. Search for Redemption: Code 419 is a gritty, high-stakes psychological thriller exploring accountability, trauma, and earned redemption.

Blurb

A young Ghanaian princess writes to him in fear and secrecy, her voice trembling through the screen. She speaks of betrayal, captivity, and a desperate need for escape. She speaks of trust. She speaks of him. For the first time in years, Sam feels chosen—not as a threat, not as a burden, but as a man capable of saving someone.

As Sam’s devotion deepens, the line between truth and illusion blurs. His need to rescue the princess becomes a pilgrimage toward redemption, pulling him from the quiet routines of Texas into a country he has never seen, toward people he cannot understand, and into a story that may not be what it seems. What begins as an act of compassion becomes a reckoning with the stories we inherit, the stories we invent, and the ones we cling to when we cannot bear our own.

Search for Redemption: Code 419 is a haunting, character‑driven novel about longing, shame, and the fragile human hunger to be forgiven. It asks whether redemption is something we find—or something we create at great cost.
