Guide Megathread: Name Reservation Updates

Edit 1: Still not allowing access as of 19:55 CET. No updates or news as of now.
Edit 2: No access at 20:15 CET. No updates from Blizzard. Current theory is that it won't happen until NA servers launch at earliest. This is not an official statement from Blizzard but speculation from the community.
Edit 3: 20:19 - reply from Blizzard NA on Twitter. They're still working on a fix.
EDIT 4: ITS UP! GET IN
Edit 5: time is 21:14 CET. It's down again. It worked for 15 minutes, congratulations to everyone who got in. I will log off now to sleep. I hope it will get up again soon.

Let's all keep our wonderful whining in a single post, but more importantly - updates about the issue.

STATUS:

No one can log into the EU servers to reserve their name. This is NOT affecting NA or other regions as they are not available yet.

It's been an hour and 30 minutes and the issue is still persisting. No need to write an additional post about it.

What do we know so far?:

On Twitter, the American WoW CS account wrote that they were working on a fix (no time-frame) as fast as they could and it would likely require a hot fix.

That's all we know. Will update once more information is coming in.

In regards to the RP-PVP realms not showing as one of the 4 possible servers (that are still down):

If the RP-PvP ruleset isn't visible when you log in, select a different ruleset first, then click Rulesets in the top navigation bar. The RP-PvP ruleset should then appear.

I can't click the "Play" button:

  1. Log out of battle.net
  2. Click the cogwheel at the top right
  3. Set it to "Europe"
  4. Log in again
  5. You should now be able to click "Play" and be stuck like the rest of us.

Guide [Addon] GuildMute – mute whole guilds (or a whole family of guilds) in WoW Forever

Thumbnail curseforge.com
674 Upvotes

Hey all!

Some guilds run lots of numbered chapters (Knights I, Knights II, Knights III...) and ignoring members one by one doesn't scale. GuildMute lets you hide a whole guild, or a whole family of guilds, with one rule.

There's an optional sighting-sharing feature between users, and it's off unless you turn it on.

Completely free to use, it's a new release, so I'd love feedback and bug reports. Please leave them below or in the addon comments on CurseForge. Thanks!

https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/guildmute-forever

PSA: I'm aware of a bug with resetting data, this is caused by the Forever client but I'm looking into it anyways.

Guide New to WoW Classic? Here's a quick guide to target markers

Edit: Just got back from work and after reading the comments I would like to address a few things.

Regarding sweatyness: having someone who knows the kill order, or what to CC, put up marks to make the run smoother is simply an act of kindness and the opposite of sweaty.

Regarding zug zug: if every dungeon is zug zug, it is not classic. Part of playing the game is gaining knowledge about the different levels of danger a mob might pose.

Regarding consensus: this is merely a guide. I didn't make this guide, I'm just passing on the closest we ever got to a consensus in Classic WoW. You do you, mark things however you want.

Regarding usage: marks in raids will differ. This is meant for group content.

Guide Did you know you can directly email Blizzard to report streamer ToS violations and RMT with video evidence?

Seeing the recent clips of streamers openly admitting to ToS violations and asking their chat to buy gold for them got me thinking.

A lot of players don't realize there is a direct way to send clear evidence to Blizzard outside the in-game report system.

If you have a clip or evidence of a streamer violating ToS or engaging in RMT you can email it directly to hacks@blizzard.com.
This goes straight to their dedicated team for ToS enforcement and game integrity.

Include the following in your email:

  • Streamer/Character name and server
  • Direct link to the video clip or post showing the admission
  • Brief description of the violation

In-game reports often get lost in automated systems or take forever but sending explicit video admissions directly to their email creates documented pressure.

The more people use the official channels with proper evidence the harder it becomes for them to ignore the issue.

Guide Shaman Tanking is great fun in Forever!

Thumbnail

Hello! I have previously shaman tanked in HC and wanted to test out the playstyle in Forever before it launched. Good news is it really works at low levels at least. It's also really, really fun and I would encourage you to give it a go if you are in enhancement! Here you can see a Hall of Thanes run I did with a lovely group of people, inc. a level 18 mage and 17 paladin.

Core takeaways:

  • Right click is everything. Make sure your one hander is solid before going in to a dungeon.
  • Earth Shock missing is really terrible. I think if Shaman tanking is going to work later in the game, you will need 10 points in Restoration to get Tidal Focus (5% hit chance.)
  • Fire Nova is a massive improvement to shaman tanking. If you are pulling 3 mobs or more, have a fire totem ready pre-pull and use it effectively on CD. Save enough mana for a max rank Earthshock just in case. Also, Fire Nova definitely generates threat for the shaman, not the totem.
  • Gear is a necessity. Make sure you have strong attack power. Having a paladin in group for Blessing of Might is a serious bonus for your threat.
  • Buy Armor Kits! Getting 80 health from 4 medium armor kits is a 20% health improvement on my toon right now.
  • Lightning Shield - worth applying pre-pull, not worth applying mid fight. The damage is a bit lackluster and fights are short enough that Fire Nova will be a big threat generator for us.

Guide Fiveever Dungeon Guide

Post image
441 Upvotes

With dungeon quests giving so much XP, I wanted to make sure I never miss one. If you’re tired of scrolling through articles before every run, this is for you.

Pick a dungeon and the addon checks your quest log, shows which quests you already have and which you’re missing. It also shows pre quest and follow-up steps, map pins, minimum levels, XP, item rewards, whether quests are shareable, and preparation such as keys/mallet. There’s a compact boss and loot list too.

This is still a beta, and the data may change. Some higher-level dungeons currently use Classic data as a placeholder.

I’ll try to update the addon after each beta build.

Guide Your ruleset choice - a call to arms for RP

This is a call for all of you who want to immerse themselves in the game, wish it was more relaxed, who want to take it stress-free. This is a case for the RP ruleset. Join us. For the Horde! (or Alliance)

There are many misconceptions about the RP ruleset, while in truth, it is oftentimes by far the most chill place to be. "But I want to Raid!" - I am here to make the case to you that raiding, or any form of PvE, is very much alive on RP. Sweats however, are very hard to find, it is frowned upon. "But I want to PvP!" - Grab the RPPvP addon, binding you to an oath of PvP being on at all times.

PvE on RP: This has always been just as big as on other realms, there are just fewer people overall. This means that communities are smaller, more tight-knit and undesirables unwelcomed. PvE(raids/dungeons/other) in RP guilds is often far more about the social aspect, talking with one another, having fun. What about the RP? RP is present to a degree that you choose, join a guild or community that matches your level of RP, from bare minimum to full-fledged RP.

The RP ruleset: There are different rules both strict and community-driven on the RP ruleset. Strictly, the naming convention: your name must be fitting inside the world of Azeroth, no edgy stuff. At bare minimum most in the community will have an RP addon to broadcast their character's backstory to others, this can be 1-2 lines of text or a whole story, up to you! Freedom of choice is paramount in the RP ruleset. While it is commonly understood you are in-character, nobody can force you into RP if you don't want to engage and nobody is allowed to interrupt those who are RP'ing. In short: live in the world and let others live as they want as well.

Thinking of shifting your adventures to the RP ruleset?
You will get a more social and more immersive experience, killing dragons or picking herbs. As long as you adhere to the rules of RP, you are welcome. In return, you may just find yourself a new home.

Guide You can pre-download the WoW Forever launch client right now (same trick as the beta)

Remember the wow_classic_beta trick for downloading the beta early? The live launch client has its own code, so you can grab it ahead of launch the same way.

The easiest way is through Command Prompt:

  1. Press Windows + R
  2. Type cmd and press Enter
  3. Paste this command and press Enter:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net\Battle.net.exe" --game=wowf --install

Battle.net will open and offer to install World of Warcraft: Forever. If Battle.net isn’t on your C: drive, change the path to wherever your Battle.net.exe is.

Guide Note to Parents - The only way to "pause" the game is to turn invisible. This means picking a Night Elf, Rogue, or Druid!

I see some posts daily from parents and they always wonder - which class/race works best for getting interrupted by kids? The answer is Night Elf! Night elves get a racial ability called 'shadowmeld' that allows them to turn invisible anywhere indefinitely. That means when you get interrupted by a crying child, you can simply finish combat, hit shadowmeld, and walk away. I have been saved from so many child-interruption-related-deaths by shadowmelding! I strongly recommend it!

(And if you don't like Nelfs, you can be a druid or rogue of any race and you get the ability to turn invisible indefinitely at level 20)

Edit: NB: Children cry for many reasons at many times, and often it is a very quick resolution. My post was intended to be about those quick moments e.g. children crying out/talking in their sleep, or a small dispute playing in the yard, etc. These are minor and quick interruptions in which there is often just a check necessary and a pause is much more convenient that a log out + log in. I am sorry to those who imagined I was neglecting my children's attention needs; please believe that I have many children, I attend to much crying, and I am simply trying to share a tip for parents who want to lay this video game. In particular, I think of my wife, who plays while baby is nursing and needs to set him down when he falls asleep.

Guide Useful console commands

Thumbnail
gallery
403 Upvotes

I tested a bunch of console variables in Forever and decided to compile a list of some relevant ones.

I recommend making a backup of your Config.wtf in /World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/WTF/ before making any changes.

You can make a macro with the commands you want to use (recommended) or type them in the chat. Game will save them to your Config.wtf upon exit.

Some of these values may be overwritten by the game when changing Graphics settings or when entering a raid when using Raid Graphics. These are explicitly mentioned.

Secondary Lighting Low:

/console giquality 0
#Hidden secondary lighting quality, has no indirect lighting.
#Not recommended for general gameplay due to some scenes appearing excessively dark, but it's pretty cool for screenshots.
#If you need to use Secondary Lighting Low for performance reasons, you can use Shadow Quality Fair to get a playable experience.
#OVERWRITTEN when changing Secondary Lighting.

SSAO:

/console ssaotype 0 or /console ssaotype 1
#Switches between method 0 (default) and method 1.
#0 is more pronounced, 1 is subtler. AFAIK 0 is ASSAO and 1 is CACAO.
#From my testing, 0 is faster on Low SSAO, 0 and 1 are about equal on Good, 1 is faster on High and much faster on Ultra.

/console assaoHorizonAngleThresh 0.5
/console assaoDetailShadowStrength 5000
/console assaoBlurPassCount 4
#General tweaks for SSAO, applies to both methods.
#Slightly better accuracy, slightly lower radius, extra strength for tight spots, method 1 blur passes balanced between intensity and stability.
#Additionally, these solve some visual issues that the default configuration has on certain corners.
#No performance impact.

/console assaoBlurPassCount 1
#Unfiltered (Naive) SSAO.
#Only works with method 1.
#Does not exhibit the haloing issues that SSAO has otherwise.
#Only recommended when playing on a high resolution and/or high render scale. Replace assaoBlurPassCount in general tweaks.

Horizon Distance:

/console horizonstart 4000
#Pushes distance fog farther towards the horizon.
#Allows lower View Distances to reduce nearby fog without sacrificing performance.
#4000 is default on View Distance 10/max.
#Minimal performance impact.
#OVERWRITTEN when changing View Distance.

Shadow Cascades:

/console shadowNumCascades 4
#The new distance fog has trouble blending properly and appears exceedingly bright when unshaded.
#Ultra Shadow Quality uses 4 cascades, which cover a large enough distance to eliminate this issue.
#Good/High/Ultra use 3 cascades by default. 4 allows them eliminate this issue without sacrificing performance. #Disabled/Low/Fair do not benefit from this.
#Minimal performance impact.
#OVERWRITTEN when changing Shadow Quality.

Dynamic Resolution Scaling:

/console DynamicRenderScale 1
#Set your desired Target FPS in the in-game Graphics settings to use it.
#It has no FPS averaging built-in from what I can tell, so any stutter will make it kick in.
#Multiple users report their game crashes with this option enabled.

/console DynamicRenderScaleMin
#Minimum allowed render scale.
#1 = 100%, 0.5 = 50% etc.
#Resample Quality = Bicubic is recommended when using Render Scale > 100% and DynamicRenderScaleMin = 1, FSR is recommended when using Render Scale ≤ 100% and/or DynamicRenderScaleMin < 1.

Contrast Adaptive Sharpening:

/console ResampleAlwaysSharpen 1
#Enables CAS even when not using FSR.
#Control sharpening intensity with Resample Sharpness in Graphics settings.
#Minimal performance impact.

Detail Density:

/console groundEffectDensity
#Density of ground clutter.
#Minimum is 16, maximum is 256. Game uses 48 on Ground Clutter 10.
#Moderate performance impact, dependent on ground clutter distance.
#OVERWRITTEN when changing Ground Clutter.

Weather Density:

/console weatherdensity
#Intensity of weather effects. Users might want to configure to preference, independently of Particle Density.
#Game uses 0 on Particle Density Disabled/Low, 1 on Fair/Good and 3 on High/Ultra.
#Very noticeable, minimal performance impact, moderate performance impact with new weather.
#OVERWRITTEN when changing Particle Density.

Pixel Format:

/console renderformat
#Color accuracy. Higher values have better color accuracy and less color banding.
#Valid values are 0, 1, 2 and 3. Game uses 2 by default. 0 seems to be using 2.
#2 has a moderate performance cost, 3 has a major performance cost. 1 can be used if you need more performance.

Guide Wow Forever Fate Randomizer!

Thumbnail

Can’t decide what faction, race or class to play in WoW Forever? Tired of your current character? Want to make an alt but have no idea what to roll?

NO FEAR! I, Kozmek, have created a place where FATE decides your next main or alt!

I genuinely have the hardest time picking a race and class combo, so I originally made this for myself. Then I figured maybe some of you struggle with the same shit lol.

Introducing the WoW Forever Fate Randomizer!

🎮 Play here: https://kozmek.github.io/fate-randomizer/
There are two ways to play.

🏆 Championship: Fate picks five characters. You eliminate two and crown a champion from the remaining three. Do that three times, then throw your three champions into a grand final to decide your next character!

🎲 Quick Roll: Just want a character? Hit the button and let fate decide.

It supports both Horde and Alliance, with race and class filters, options to prevent repeat rolls, spinning faction reveals and downloadable result cards. Your progress is saved separately for each faction.

It’s completely free, works on your phone and doesn’t require an account.

Give it a shot and let me know what you get. I’m curious whether fate gives you your dream main or something you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole.

This is an unofficial fan project and isn’t affiliated with Blizzard.

Guide Healers are going to be ok leveling! Here are my tips for hybrids that work for me.

I love hybrids and I love healing dungeons! I played a lot of era, hardcore, classic wow.

I see a lot of people worried about how healers will fare if they don’t spam dungeons due to the exp changes.

I think it will all be ok and here is my advice. I don’t think a lot will change from era/hardcore to forever for healers.

This is what you do and how healers have always survived best:

  1. Keep two sets of gear. One dps set and one healer set.

Work on both right from the get go and don’t worry that one is not complete right away. Try to get a piece for every slot even if they are not the best pieces.

  1. Level in a dps talent spec but throw on your healing set when you heal at level dungeons. Heals dungeons and group content in a dps leveling spec.

In era/classic, low level dungeons were not very punishing and just having healing gear was more than good enough to heal. It seems that for forever it will be the same way and even more so because gear stats are even more important in forever for casters. Even more so than in era/classic!

  1. At level 40 (or whenever they offer it in Forever) buy duel spec and then you can have a dedicated heal talent spec from here on when the content is harder.

You could even wait till 50 in era and hardcore cuz it was still good to just have healing gear with a dps spec up to that point, but I liked having it right away on a hardcore server.

Tips on how to maintain two sets of gear:

-if a quest doesn’t give you a good piece for one set, take the piece for your other set.

-if everyone greeds on a piece of gear in a dungeon and it’s good for your other set, ask if you can need on it for your off spec. 99% of the time people will say “go for it.”

-pick a profession that can make gear for both your two sets and go out of your way to make pieces for both your sets.

-go silver elite hunting for specific pieces of gear for your sets.

- look for cheap greens on the AH. At low levels it doesn’t have to be good, it just has to fill the slot.

Guide Calm down, it’s forever

Seems like the majority of complaints here is “it’s not efficient enough” “this is unfair” etc

What’s the hurry? You’re not a streamer, you’re not a “content creator” not everything has to be optimised, not everything has to be an efficiency/time ratio. So what if dungeons don’t give alot of xp, they give overpowered gear, or fun unique bonuses/on use.

To boot there’s only going to be mega servers. No matter how fast or slow you level there’s going to be 10s of thousands of players in all brackets of ‘efficiency’ if you get to 60 in January you’re still going to full raid geared before February. This is your one chance to enjoy a launch experience that’ll probably NEVER happen again unlike fresh vanilla and early expansions.

Guide WoW Forever - Beyond Ultra Graphics (Settings & Console Commands)

I saw this post yesterday:

https://www.reddit.com/r/wowforever/comments/1x2srnz/a_couple_of_commands_to_increase_the_amount_of/

Which reminded me of some previous posts from years ago:

This one from 7 years ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/WowUI/comments/e9si2e/other_is_there_a_newer_or_better_beyond_ultra/

And this one from 11 years ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/4jullb/legion_enhancing_the_client_via_console_aka_max/

And then the dozens of YouTube videos that built upon those 2 posts (as recently as a few months ago) titled “How to make WoW look BEYOND ULTRA”.

I actually spent a lot of time looking into this for myself so I figured that I might as well do an updated guide for WoW Forever on how to push the graphic quality to the absolute maximum.

Obviously it makes sense to do this only if you have the hardware that can handle it.

First of all, do a backup of your WTF file, you might not like the result, you need to be able to roll back.

Before going into the console commands macros let's look at the graphics options. A lot of these settings are poorly understood, and you want to use the macros only after you've correctly configured your graphics settings.

Graphics

* Monitor: Your choice.

* Display Mode: Fullscreen (Windowed) Because you are not an animal.

* Resolution: Use the native resolution of your monitor (don’t put Default, select the correct resolution).

* Render Scale: If you have a good PC use 200%. This is probably the single setting that makes the biggest visual difference. 200% means twice the width and the height, so the game renders 4× as many pixels. If your PC can’t handle it, stay at 100%.

* Use UI Scale: A setting that is too often forgotten. Maybe it's just me getting old, but I find the default UI scale on a 4K monitor, when this setting is disabled, to be too small. I like 80% in general but Action Bars are too big, good thing that you can downscale them with Edit Mode (I put 70%).

* Vertical Sync: Disable this. Depending on your monitor's refresh rate, this can either do almost nothing or cause issues with input lag (and if you're a true gamer, the mere mention of "input lag" probably made you recoil in disgust). If you know what you're doing, Vertical Sync may be something you want, but if you're not the kind of person who can say off the top of your head how many hertz your monitor has, leave V-Sync off.

* Low Latency Mode: Auto Detect. Not gonna lie got no idea what this does.

* Anti-Aliasing: If your PC is good enough to use 200% Render Scale (see above) then disable Anti-Aliasing (put to None). Basically, the downsampling already acts as supersampling anti-aliasing, so you don't need additional AA. If you use 100% Render Scale, set Anti-Aliasing to Image-Based Techniques and CMAA 2.

* Character Models: Won’t open that can of worms. You do you.

* Camera FOV: Max (90).

Graphics Quality

Slide everything all the way to 10.

On previous Classic clients I used to put everything at 10 and then lower Liquid Detail back to the minimum because I really didn't like the Cataclysm "liquid metal" water. On Forever tho the water looks amazing so I definitely just max everything out.

I assume that you won’t use the setting that allows to lower graphic settings in Raids or Battlegrounds, cause if you feel the need to do that then your PC is not good enough to run the settings we are working on, so what’s the point.

If you do lower graphic quality in Raids/BGs know that most (almost all) console commands below actually have a specific “RAID” (which applys to BG too) version so you’ll need other macros to specifically edit the graphics settings in Raids/BGs that are not controlled by the game options.

If you do enable this option to lower graphics in Raids/BG and then see plain looking ground with low clutter in Hyjal despite using the console command to improve it, this is why.

Advanced

* Triple Buffering: Off (or maybe you want this if you have Vertical Sync enabled, but in that case you probably know what you're doing, so you know better).

* Texture Filtering: Max (16x).

* Resample Quality: FidelityFX Super Resolution.

* VRS Mode: Off. "Variable Rate Shading", this can save performance by reducing shading quality in parts of the screen, which is the opposite of what we want since we are going for MAXIMUM quality.

* Graphics API: Select x12.

* Physics Interactions: Player and NPC.

* Graphics Card: Select your Graphics Card don't put Auto Detect.

* Max Foreground FPS: Toggle this off.

* Max Background FPS: If you like having the game still look normal on your main monitor while you're browsing something on your side monitor, you can disable this or set it to 60 FPS. Most people will probably use 30 or 20 FPS to save performance while the game isn't focused. I wouldn't set it to the minimum tho, very low FPS can cause crashes.

* Target FPS: TOGGLE THIS OFF. This is important to disable: you don't want a Target FPS of 60, because Dynamic Render Scaling can lower your Render Scale to hit that target, which completely contradicts the whole point of going “Beyond Ultra.” Obviously, you need a good PC for this.

* Resample Sharpness: Max (0).

* Contrast: KEEP IT AT 50. You might have used higher contrast on previous Classic clients. There was a time when a lot of YouTube videos from popular content creators were going crazy about making the game look better, and a big part of it was simply increasing the contrast to get more vibrant colors. But on Forever, the game can get so dark sometimes (which is great) that anything above 50 can make it literally unplayable. Just try going to the Ruins of Lordaeron at night with contrast set to 60.

* Brightness: 50. Looks very bad if you increase it IMO. If the game looks too dark for you at contrast 50, it probably has more to do with your environment than with the game itself, you should tweak your monitor's brightness setting rather than WoW's.

* Gamma: 1.0.

Compatibility Settings

Leave all four enabled. These settings exist mostly so people with problematic hardware/drivers can disable newer rendering paths as troubleshooting. On a modern high-end PC turning them off is more likely to reduce performance, cause hitching, or disable graphical features so that's not what we want.

Now for console commands

You’ll need 8 macros to cover everything.

To be perfectly transparent: most of those settings will do nothing, either because the default value is already optimal, or because the setting was already correctly set by your graphic settings, or also because a lot of those are probably not in the game anymore and I just put them cause they were in the old Reddits posts.

But better safe than sorry, none of the ones that could potentially be argued as useless can hurt you and who knows what you already edited, or an addon might have edited, or what Blizzard will bring back one day, so might as well setup all settings in one go.

Create the 8 macros, drag them in a bar, click on each macro once (or multiple times, does not matter), and you’re done, you can delete the macros after that if you want. Obviously you don’t have to click each macro once every time you log in.

/console componentTexCacheSize 1024

/console componentTexLoadLimit 48

/console componentThread 12

If your actual character and/or your model of the character in the character pane disappears, just relog. Could not figure out why this bug happens sometimes. (Can actually be pretty fun to have your character be invisible.)

Macro 8 — Lighting / rendering / models

/console giQuality 4

/console graphicsLightMode 3

/console graphicsComputeEffects 4

/console graphicsBloomUserMult 1

/console sunshafts 2

/console characterAmbient 1

/console OutlineEngineMode 2

/console M2UseThreads 3

/console terrainMipLevel 0

I don't think anybody will actually tweak any of those settings, but in case you do, be careful with giQuality: putting anything greater than 5 crashes the game (and 5 is sub-optimal).

If you’re interested, you can find all the details and the result of all the testing I made for all those commands here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1H9iU_NLJ7xgEbdYTa1ir9fZG0sFknpFh4J4MM5YtgXo/edit?gid=76237904#gid=76237904

In case of problems

If you encounter crashes, FPS issues, stuttering, or graphical bugs after doing all this, troubleshoot in roughly this order:

* First of all, this might not be caused by the graphic settings. Make sure it's not your GPU drivers, some kind of update to the NVIDIA app (as they like to do like a thousand a day), or Windows update, or an Addon.

* Then Drop Render Scale from 200% to 100%. 200% is extremely demanding and can put a lot of pressure on your GPU and VRAM.

* Then play with Compatibility Settings (bottom of the Graphic Settings). Try disabling them one by one and test various combinations of the 4. These settings specifically exist to work around crashes or visual issues on some systems.

* Then If you're using DirectX 12 (in the Graphics API settings), try DirectX 11.

* Then revert the most aggressive draw-distance/LOD settings first, especially farclip, terrainLodDist, entityLodDist, wmoLodDist, and bodyQuota.

Here is the macro to dial those down:

/console farclip 2112

/console terrainLodDist 500

/console entityLodDist 100

/console wmoLodDist 400

/console bodyQuota 100

All those 5 values can go down to 0, so you can put everything to 0 as a test but it's unlikely that the dialed down values are creating issues.

If nothing works just roll back to your previous WTF file.

------------

EDIT:
Adding this after seeing some of the comments.

The post is about Beyond Ultra graphics, not "best graphics while optimizing for performance." These settings are insanely demanding; you need a very good PC to run everything at maximum.

If you drop below 60 FPS with all those settings, you need to lower some stuff. You need to put Render Scale back to 100% and reduce horizonStart, wmoLodDist, and terrainLodDist.

If you have less than 60 FPS while alone outdoors, with everything set up as described in this post except Render Scale at 100% and reduced values on the three most critical console commands, then your PC is simply not able to run graphics above the default Ultra settings.

"Not capping foreground FPS is absolutely terrible advice"
I hear you. But, damn, I would like to see the PC that can go above 120 FPS with those settings.

"No V-Sync?"
Like I said above, it could improve things depending on your monitor, but even at 240 Hz I read that input lag can still be noticeable. Honestly, it sounds placebo-effect-y, but still, input lag is too scary.

"Could you just add these to the Config.wtf?"
No, you would get every single one of my options.

Thank you.

EDIT 2:
Changed waterDetail value tu put back default (2).

waterDetail 3 caused me a crash in the City of Dalaran. If anybody encountered an access_violation error this was it.

Hi everyone !

To help new players get started with the release of Forever, I’ve created an illustrated beginner’s guide to World of Warcraft: Forever. I hope it will inspire more people to join the adventure and discover Azeroth.

It covers character creation, the interface, quests, combat basics, equipment, professions, travel, dungeons, and common terminology. The goal is to help new players get started without feeling overwhelmed.

(PDF can be found here)

If you're new to the game, want to explore World of Warcraft, or know someone who might be interested, this is for you. I hope you'll like it!

If you spot an error or find an explanation unclear, please let me know so I can improve the next version.

Note: I originally wrote this guide in French and translated it into English myself, so I apologize for any awkward wording or translation errors… French Guide here

Thank you for your time, and see you in Azeroth !

Yes, Im a retail baby all point and laugh, but the fact is i feel so much more comfortable tanking when i have a route in mind.

So i built a web app that lets me make them myself since there doesn't seem to be any available for the new forever dungeons. (This is where someone links me to a ready built tool invalidating the past 6 hours xd).
