With dungeon quests giving so much XP, I wanted to make sure I never miss one. If you’re tired of scrolling through articles before every run, this is for you.
Pick a dungeon and the addon checks your quest log, shows which quests you already have and which you’re missing. It also shows pre quest and follow-up steps, map pins, minimum levels, XP, item rewards, whether quests are shareable, and preparation such as keys/mallet. There’s a compact boss and loot list too.
This is still a beta, and the data may change. Some higher-level dungeons currently use Classic data as a placeholder.
I'd also love to see one for major elite areas (Stonewatch Keep, Pyrewood Village, Jintha'Alor etc.) I try to do those on every character as well as they are basically uninstanced dungeons.
Maybe I can look into creating a companion addon for this? How hard would that be?
Huge fan of this, there are so many quests in areas around the dungeons that are chains or in the case of WC having to go to the guy in TB to get a quest. You sometimes wouldnt even know theybare available until after youve run. While i like dungeons i dont wanna run the same thing 4 times for 4 seperste quests, so being able to tell at a glance if i have them all is nice.
This looks like a way friendlier UI than looking this up with Questie, as it appears to show where the quest chain starts, not which quest is in it, and then you have to research backwards.
DungeonJournal is an addon that does this and shows boss drop loot. It also has horde and alliance toggle for quests. It tells you which prerequisites but doesn’t show you on map or anything
Don't get me wrong, but can you please release a non-branded version? 🙂 How about naming it Forever Dungeon Guide? I think the extra play on words 4-ever/5-ever is not really needed... at least in my opinion.
Being downvoted like hell, but I’m not against AI. I’m building my own addons myself with it.
I’m just foreseeing how many posts like this we will get. While it is interesting to see all the creativity, we will get a lot of buggy, non-maintained software along with it.
Here is what I am learning, if I am not going to passionately maintain something, then I'm not going to upload it. That being said, the sheer volume of things being uploaded in any of these spaces makes it hard to want to maintain something at the current moment.
Honestly I'm just having some fun. I'm not really an AI supporter but I think AI is going to continue to exist in very "low stakes" projects like these.
I might catch some downvotes for this and not being knee jerk anti-AI but this seems like a harmless usage of AI to me. I suppose I get the environmental issues, but I’ve heard conflicting information about whether that’s even legit or not. My biggest problem with AI is art and it taking away jobs that could have easily gone to a real person. Like a company using it when they have the money to hire a designer. But none of these addons would have been like commissioned by an addon maker or something. If anything this is a good side of AI because people who have good addon ideas can easily make them and then the rest of us benefit from it and it’s not negatively affecting anyone else (again withholding the environmental side of things).
