Discussion New store housing decor in the shop is against Blizzard's housing principles
New bundle is Kul Tiran themed. This is a rule #2 from official post on blizzard forums: https://news.blizzard.com/en-gb/article/24242736/developer-insight-hearthsteel-virtual-currency-and-housing-in-midnight

Discussion ngl I think I'd prefer the Old Gods in their true forms from the new Hearthstone expansion to be the main villains of TLT rather than villainbatting the Titans and watch Blizzard faceplant at being "MOrAlLy gRaY" for the umpteenth time.

Feedback I really hope we're going to get eyebrows with the new customization update.
And not just for orcs and trolls. Every race that doesn't already have them should get a few options to choose from!

Feedback This makes me so sad and I have nobody to vent to because my friends already dont play WoW anymore.
I was excited because I thought that these new cosmetics were related to talebound. Nope, BOTH are shop ads. The worst part is that kul tirans are my favorite culture and I love eldritch themes. I log in and the bug where my mount camera is in the clouds is back after it was fixed for a couple months. I am just genuinely fed up with how buggy everything is and how despite their game barely being playable a lot of the time, they are shoving more and more shop updates than ever before. I feel entirely powerless to do anything about it but watch and let my sub expire. It genuinely makes me sad because I dont see this getting better, I've observed it get worse and worse since dragonflight.
It's not just that, the content that they are rushing out that breaks the game for isn't even quality, they just recycled void incursions/void assaults but now its with bugs, both literal and software bugs. I am overall a fan of the macro story with Xalatath, but their execution of micro stories that revolve around the characters we interact with are incredibly boring and badly written. I know people are going to defend blizzard and accuse me of just being on a hate bandwagon but I am genuenly expressing the sense of depression I get when I play this game now. I only started playing in 2020, so I'm not one of those salty veterans that want only classic. I quit during shadowlands, came back for dragonflight, and played until now. My first MMO experience ever was WoW with me playing around at the end of BFA.
I am trying so hard to love this game but they just make it so goddamn difficult. I still love the world and the art style and I'm a big fan of the solo friendly gameplay, but the bugs just piss me off so much, especially because I am a software developer and these bugs are just not something that most other games have.
I'm also trying to cope with it by saying maybe they do care and the bugs are just really hard to fix, and maybe they are just super generous and I should think of the shop updates as basically free because I can just use in-game gold to buy them, but the more I tell myself that the more I dont want to play or do content because I feel like every death costs me real world money since Blizzard wants there to be such a large link between in-game gold and money.

Discussion The story of Midnight would have worked way better if Atal'utek was the first raid
As I discuss with my friends about lore, many share their fatigue with patch 12.1.5 : Yet another invasion on Quel'Thalas, another "Villain of the week" episode that will soon be forgotten.
Yet, those events could have worked perfectly fine had the story been better structured :
Imagine if, instead of directly rallying the loas, the first questlines of Zul'Aman revolved around Zul'Jan desperate attempts at fighting the Twillight Blade, rallying the different tribes in his fight. By fighting the Twillight Blade ourself, we would discover that his force has been infiltrated by disguised cultists, conspiring to push him into delving into the amani dark secrets once prohibited by the loas and the traditions they created.
By exposing the ruse, more sensible amani like Zul'jarra would accept to collaborate with us. Sadly, it would be too late to stop Zul'Jan from unleashing Ula'tek into Zul'Aman and causing chaos. Many followers of Zul'Jan would progressively switch side as they see the results of their transgression. As they proved their loyalty to their old values again, the loa would finally show up and offer their support.
Here things would be the same : Lor'Themar would firmly refuse to help the amani since the Sunwell itself is already under attack, stuck in a constant stalemate against the void. Xal'atath would shine through her sneaky plots as Kith'ix gets unleashed, overwhelming the exhausted amani forces to reach Quel'thalas.
As SIlvermoon gets attacked by the unleashed Aqir, they would be forced to deploy some members of the armies of the light, progressively weakening their hold for the Sunwell. As things get more desperate, they would finally accept to consider Umbric proposition to attack into their world.
Then things go as they did in the first patch, but this time it's more believable that both side are willing to collaborate : they both saw what happened when they refused to listen one another. It would have also let more time for the Horde to arrive and defend against the aqir/ethereals/nagas, while the alliance supports the assault on the voidstorm.
It could have even caused some faction tension, as Silvermoon could blame the Alliance for making the situation worse by making the Well fall into darkness and seemingly failing their mission.
Then the transition into the worldcore would have felt like the logical transition, following Xal'atath path. Really, it fixes so many issues with the story.

Housing All WoW Lumber Farming Routes (Reupload)
For crafting housing decor and making lots of gold via AH.
Disclaimer: These routes are for farming 200+ lumber, if you only need a couple - there are better and easier to get to areas. The routes have a nice respawn rate and/or very few mobs at the nodes (midnight) - Rates are estimates and depend on your farming style.

Question Would i be able to raid in retail without speaking?
I don't mean without following comms just without me specifically speaking, I can understand english without problems, but I don't have confidence in speaking it yet, would it be detrimental to the raid if i play without being able to speak?

Discussion What specific criteria makes a villain like Arthas, Gul'dan, Garrosh, or Sire Denathrius compelling compared to villains like the Jailer and Zul'jan?

Seeing the discourse surrounding Zul'jan's lackluster decision-making and departure from the material plane, I wanted to pose the question: What specific elements or traits make a Warcraft villain/antagonist compelling for you personally?
The recent trend of morally grey, tragic-backstory-spamming villains has been exhausting. The overuse of mind control and magic wand instantaneous corruptionβ’ (Anduin, Ysera, Taran Zhu, Vaelastrasz) is also exhausting. A villain can truly just be a bad person determined to crush opposition beneath their boots.
The writer's obsession with redemption for the irredeemable is frustrating. Zul'jan was a fool. Zul'jara's emotional sendoff to Zul'jan was almost offensive with how stupid he was as a person. He got thousands killed, some had their souls annihilated, and it just gives the impression that among the writing team: a poorly written story is considered passable as long as it falls in the genre of tragedy. Tragedy, the genre, is not a free pass. There's a reason people have different reactions to Arthas' fall from grace compared to Zul'jan.
Terrible trends in wow story telling:
- Character breaks that turn consistent principles into a jumbled mess just to add a self-insistent "Morally Grey" tag.
- Repetitive Storytelling. Garrosh 2.0 and 3.0 don't hit as hard as Garrosh.
- Over relying on "Puppetmaster" or "Secret 4D Chess Mastermind" tropes.
- Hand wavey redemption arcs, in game NPC backlash/hostility/ridicule is invisible. Show me a night elf clocking Sylvanus on sight
- Villain appears before the heroes and isn't a strong enough threat to paralyze us immediately but isn't attacked immediately. There's a reason we couldn't approach, let alone hold a two-way conversation with Arthas. Villains that don't hold that sort of power but appear, should immediately enter combat (with banter).
- Talking so slow in cutscenes and dialogue it's painful.
Personally, I liked Gul'dan because he's just blatantly evil. There's elements of manipulation in the demon blood, but there's no subtlety. Even his design adds to it all: a hunched-over, raspy-voiced, evil warlock swinging far above the weight class of everyone else in the verse at the time.
Some specifics that I particularly enjoy in previous villains:
- Sire Denathrius & Xalatath's suave cadence and condescending demeanor. Compared to brute strength, Xal values manipulation. She doesn't just force-grip random lore NPC's and reduce them to mindless raid bosses like the Jailer did. Leverage & Power = good.
- Arthas' & the Old Gods' Ethereal / Otherworldly presence. A presence that gives you pause and makes you doubt reality itself. Madness is simultaneously good and bad depending on how it's handled. Show me an NPC who whimpers in a corner or babbles incoherently when touched by the void, not just someone repeating "power!"
- Bargains of desperation (King Rastakhan). This is a personal pick, but watching a reluctant bargain being struck can showcase good morally grey storytelling. When your back is against the wall and your kingdom is falling, these are the decisions that draw intrigue and interest in the lore.
I am by no means a lore nerd, so let me know if you disagree with anything I mentioned or think I used a poor example. What are the good/bad villains of wow for you and why?
