I need some help

I’ve had my wii U for over ten years and it is unmodded. About a year and a half ago I got a new gamepad and I was playing the wind waker hd. Then when I was done I decided to try playing a wii game then I got an error screen.

The error code: 160-0103

It says something is wrong with my system memory and after this happened I formatted my wii u as an attempt to fix this issue but…. After setting up my wii u it shows the same error screen. I want to fix it without soldering anything and I am having trouble finding a reliable guide online. Gbatemp is telling me to download a lot of stuff and it’s overwhelming. Is there a better guide or youtube video I can follow? I also don’t want to buy a raspberri pi tool unless it’s necessary

Pretty sure that's a nand error meaning your nand has failed It's not modded so you can't get isfshax

I'm pretty sure you're just doomed I hope you aren't but that's just me

Idk I'm able to boot my wii u I'll sometimes get this error, and sometimes I won't(when launching without aroma/tiramisu), you can install whatever you need to if you can get it to boot just even for a little while to install isfshax and REDnand/USBMLC

160-0103 indicates that the NAND, the internal memory, is failing. Problems are gonna get worse over time until it completely locks you out.

If you can still get into the Wii U, mod & install ISFShax & Stroopwafel immediately and then setup redNAND asap. It is the only solderless fix for this issue. If you can’t get the console to boot it’s already too late and the only fix is to solder.

For the setup of ISFShax & Stroopwafel I’d recommend using https://wafel.xyz, super-easy semi-automated process that downloads everything automatically, you only have to select how you wanna set it up (prepare by reading the guides first).
For setting up redNAND & rebuilding the MLC there aren’t really any shortcuts, but the gbatemp guide is pretty straight forward.

Does it matter that my WiiU is already modded with Aroma if I wanna follow this guide?

It does not, it just uses another route to boot Aroma. It’s even covered in the Wafel guide, basically just a different starting point: you can use an installer instead of a website.

I don't know about most of the guide but I recommend downloading the wuhb version of wafel installer of homebrew app store instead of website version it's more reliable

This guide is for USBMLC which is not REDnand btw, USB-MLC lives on a partition on your external HDD, REDnand redirects nand to a partition on a SD Card tbh he needs to use UDPIH which can be done on a modded Nintendo switch if you have one of those vs having to buy a 4$ pi.
