Restatement of community rules

Please follow the subreddit rules.

This isn’t a general post infertility subreddit - it’s a resource for what worked, what didn’t work, and comments about the same.

You’re all welcome here in the community but please make sure posts follow the rules.

I’ve been somewhat lenient because I know too well how much we need community as we go through this trying experience, but I’ll start locking and removing posts more aggressively if the posters don’t start following the WWFM rules more closely.

No solicitations or research requests permitted.

I’ve politely refused multiple times from various users who are requesting to do research on those of us who are going through infertility. Recent posting by a particularly brash research solicitor who didn’t ask permission has led me to this post.

This is NOT the place for you to gather human subjects. It’s a place of discussion and sharing what works.

I will remove any future postings of the sort that was posted today.

I’ve also banned the user for failure to exhibit common decency and follow the rules of the subreddit.

What did RI find that helped you?

After 5 losses (3 during IVF) we’re finally going to be seeing a RI in February! I’m curious what tests they ran, or if they were able to help you have success after several losses.

Clomid

Hey everyone!
My husband and I have been TTC for about 6 months, and my doctor prescribed Clomid because she suspects I may not be ovulating (I haven’t had a full hormone panel done yet).
I took my first round of Clomid at 50 mg this cycle, and my predicted ovulation day was Saturday (3 days ago). I’ve been testing with LH strips twice a day since finishing the meds, but I haven’t seen any rise at all so far.
Has anyone taken Clomid and never gotten an LH surge? I’m trying not to spiral while I wait to see my doctor in a couple of weeks, so I’d love to hear about anyone else’s experiences.

Baby problems

Me and my partner have been trying for a baby for the last few months, for reference me(22) and he is (24). He has had a history of smoking tobacco that he is trying to stop in order to try and have a little one but still no luck. He tries to bring up my drinking habits( I enjoy a good jack Daniel’s or dusse on the weekends as I work at a pharmacy full time ifykyk) as a reason why we haven’t been lucky considering our age group seems to have them as easy as rabbits😂we have seen a doctor and his swimmers are little to no movement. Besides us cutting our bad habits is there anything else we can do to maybe get lucky? This infertility issue has caused what seems to be a boulder or mount in our relationship and sometimes I feel as though he feels less than being that he is having a hard time giving me what we both want after months of trying. My heart goes out to all the women who might come across this post because it’s so hard providing motivation when your losing hope yourself

Need Advice on my Journey

I am 30 years old. My husband and I have been together for 7 years, during this time we have never used protection and I have never been on birth control my whole life.

Our form of “protection” is just the withdrawal method, but last year in July, we abstained from the withdrawal method and I ended up finding out I was pregnant in August. After finding out and having the pregnancy confirmed, I miscarried about a week after finding out and was possibly around 8 weeks.

I’ve had pcos for some time now and always struggled with losing weight. I don’t technically fall under the obese category, but am overweight by about 15-20 pounds. My doctors never said that the PCOS should cause significant issues with trying to conceive.

After my miscarriage, my husband and I waited to start trying again until January 2026. We have been trying since and I have not gotten pregnant.

After the miscarriage, I noticed my cycles started to get a lot longer and were anywhere from 36-47 days. I was able to regulate them again by limiting stress, eating more whole foods and sticking to my prenatal and other basic supplements. My cycles are now within the normal 31-32 day range and I typically ovulate around day 19. I have used my inito to make sure ovulation is confirmed.

I’ve spoken to fertility doctors and my OBGYN, they’ve done every bloodwork under the sun and nothing seems to be indicative of having issues conceiving. My ultrasound did show follicles on my ovaries and being a bit larger than normal, but nothing too crazy. (I’ll list them below for reference)

Here are test results from my bloodwork

Testosterone, total by MS: 36.2
Testosterone, free by ED-MS: 0.5
DHEA-S: 310.5
Insulin, total: 16.3 uU/mL
Hemoglobin A1C: 5.3%
Luteinizing hormone: 8.3 mIU/mL
Follicle Stimulating Hormone: 5.7 mIU/mL
Hydroproxyprogesterone: 38.41 ng/dL
Prolactin: 16.8 ng/ml
Anti Mullerian Hormone: 4.12 ng/mL
TSH: 1.02 mIU/L

These are all of my labs that were probably taken on day 10 of my cycle. (I think).

My doctor suggested I try letrozol, then IUI, then IVF based on how this journey goes. They also suggest I do a HSG test. I want to do the test bur am also terrified of it being super painful?

My question to all you lovely people is, does anyone have a similar experience as me? Did anyone have that “aha” moment where you figured out what was wrong? I’ve been working out, eating healthier, tracking my cycle, doing fertility massages, taking supplements and trying to lower stress.

Any comments or just sharing your journey would be greatly appreciated. I didn’t realize how lonely this journey would be.

It wasn’t me after all

It’s been 2, almost 3 years. This has been a really long and exhausting journey. I’ve done all the things— from evaluations and at home ttc stuff. I never thought this would be my reality.

I had a 6wL in January. That was the only pregnancy while ttc since early 2024...

I started my testing a little over a year ago. Everything was normal, but I always had a feeling that it was me.

Well, it’s not me. My partner finally got his SA done and we are shocked and devastated. Luckily though, there‘s changes that can be made to help.

And now we know, and the journey continues. Male factor infertility affects 40-50% of couples. Do not wait. I wish we would have checked sooner, we probably would have a LC by now.

Anyway, if anyone has advice what worked for your man to get his sperm numbers looking good and you finally got your baby, please let me know!!

His motility is: only 20% are moving and his morphology is 1%. The concentration is borderline at 16mil.

Any positive stories or advice you can give? Thank you!

Progesterone vs pregnancy

This is my first cycle taking 100mg oral progesterone, prescribed by my OB, and I’m currently 8 DPO.

Between 6–8 DPO, I’ve been experiencing little pinchy cramps and general mild aches low down in my abdomen. I haven’t had any breast tenderness, which I did experience in my previous pregnancy. Generally I have no pre period symptoms but this is also my first month taking progesterone.

For those who took oral progesterone during their TWW and went on to get a positive pregnancy test, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

- What symptoms did you experience around 6–8 DPO?
- Did your symptoms feel different in a cycle that resulted in pregnancy compared with your usual cycles on progesterone?

I know progesterone side effects can overlap with early pregnancy symptoms, but I’d be interested to hear your personal experiences and whether you noticed any differences. Thank you!

Starting Month 11 TTC - HyCoSy?

My husband and I both 28 have been trying to conceive for about 10 cycles. I have a negative test and I’m just waiting for my period to come. My cycles are regular.

I’ve had a progesterone 7 DPO test and transvaginal ultrasound. Both had blood teststo check overall levels. My husband has had a sperm analysis which mostly came back fine just the viscosity was a little bit higher for which it is. I suspect this was due to lower abstinence period. It has been repeated and we’re waiting for results. He doesn’t smoke or drink and has a healthy lifestyle. I’m expecting it to be normal.

I’m just wondering if it’s worth at this point to get a HyCoSy test or wait a little longer. I live in the UK and it would mean that I’d have to go private at this stage because the GP referral would take a while.

Any advice from anyone who has gone through something similar or similar timeline would be super helpful. There’s not a lot of success stories out there around 10-18 month mark. Usually people take a short time ie less than 6 months or significantly longer + with medical help.

Anyone had any success from having it done at this point?

Thanks

Anything you have tried before FET or after FET that helped. I know these remedies might not be scientifically proven 🙈

Pineapple core ? beet juice ? Warm feet ? Pomegranate juice ?

When to start eating pine apple core
Is it day before transfer and continue for 4 days post transfer?

I have been drinking pomegranate post by period whenever i remember
Eating 1-2 Brazil nuts a day
2-3 times a week - acupuncture session
Started wearing socks because it’s getting chilly here in new jersey
Trying to eat protein every meal

Planning to go pee right after transfer and continue with normal activities

Has anyone had luck getting pregnant after a hysterosalpingogram procedure even if their tubes were clear? I've been trying for over a year and this is my first time having this procedure. should they have scheduled my check up for like a little over 2 weeks after my procedure got done ?

Did XYZ Work? What worked for you

Hi guys I need some success stories on transferring a euploid day 5 3BC

Today we had our sixth FET (all euploid) our first two failed, third blighted ovum, fourth resulted in our beautiful daughter who passed in December due to labour complications, fifth failed. Today was our sixth, our day 6 5BB did not survive the thaw. I’m devestated. So they transfered our day 5 3BC. We now only have two remaining embryos that are also day 53BC.

Have you had success with this grade? We are going to do a retrieval if this one does not work but I am trying to keep up hope until beta.

For the cycle which resulted in my daughter, we did the CPP protocol and repeated that for the transfer following but it did not work. For the transfer today we did the same protocol.

High FSH/low AMH help?

28F. 11.4 mIU/mL FSH and 0.49 ng/uL AMH as measured on CD 3. 9-10 day luteal phase. 26-30 day cycle. Tracked previously with OPKs and last cycle also tracked with Inito. Last cycle, I had a small LH surge followed by a larger surge later and Inito confirmed ovulation a few days after second surge, so I think I ovulated last cycle? Been TTC naturally for 4 cycles but decided to do hormone testing because of short luteal phase.

Feeling devastated about high FSH and low AMH… I know I need to contact a fertility specialist based on a quick google search but wanted to ask about anyone else’s experiences with high FSH and low AMH. Has anyone successfully gotten pregnant with high FSH and low AMH? What did you try and what ended up helping the most? Has anyone been able to have a biological child?

Low egg membrane tension—what helped you?

**Low fertilization in two ICSI cycles + low egg membrane tension**
Me 34, my husband is 35, and we have unexplained infertility. My AMH is around 6, and his routine semen analysis is normal. We’re preparing for a third retrieval and would appreciate experiences from anyone with similar results.
**Cycle 1 — April**
Kelnor 1/35 birth control for about 26 days total.
Gonal-F: 150 IU daily.
Menopur: 75 IU for the first 6 days, then 150 IU for 3 days.
Ganirelix starting on stimulation day 4; Lupron trigger on day 10.
**18 retrieved → 13 mature → 7 fertilized with ICSI (54%) → 5 blasts → 1 euploid.**
**Cycle 2 — September**
Same birth control for about 17 days.
Gonal-F: 150 IU daily.
Menopur: 150 IU throughout.
Ganirelix; Lupron trigger on day 11.
**21 retrieved → 17 mature/injected → 6 normally fertilized (2PN, 35%).**
The embryologist provided this breakdown of the 17 injected eggs:
6 normal 2PN
5 degenerated after ICSI
3 had 0PN
2 had 1PN
1 had 3PN
They noted **little to no membrane tension in multiple eggs during ICSI**. ZyMot was already used, and they saw no significant concerns with the routine sperm parameters.
We ultimately froze two blasts: a **day-6 4AB from the 3PN embryo** and a **day-7 4AA from a 2PN embryo**. PGT-A results are pending.
Post-Lupron labs this cycle, approximately 10 hours after the trigger: LH 96.3 mIU/mL and progesterone 11.8 ng/mL.
The lab said his semen parameters would allow us to consider conventional IVF. I’m planning to discuss **split insemination—part conventional IVF, part ICSI—and sperm DNA fragmentation testing** with our doctor.
Has anyone had low membrane tension/high degeneration after ICSI and better results in a later cycle? Did changing stimulation doses, trigger timing, or the fertilization/injection technique help? Were AOA or any additional tests useful in your particular situation?
I’d appreciate suggestions for specific questions to bring to our doctor and embryology team. Thank you!

Did XYZ Work? Advice after chemical - baby aspirin & progesterone

I had a chemical pregnancy last month at around 5 weeks after having sex just once, 3–4 days before ovulation! It was an accidental but very wanted pregnancy.
I’ve ovulated again this cycle. My luteal phase is usually around 11 days, so my OB prescribed oral progesterone 100mg daily to lengthen it. She wasn’t clear on when to start/stop it or whether I should stop to let my period come if I’m not pregnant. If I get a positive, she’ll switch me to vaginal suppositories.
I’m also considering baby aspirin as a preventative measure.

Questions for anyone with experience:
● Has progesterone helped you with a short luteal phase or after a chemical?
● When do you start and stop it?
● Did you take baby aspirin from ovulation or wait until a positive test?
● Are there any risks of either medication negatively affecting conception or early pregnancy?

I’m trying to give myself the best chance of conceiving and having it stick, but don’t want to take anything unnecessarily that could actually hurt my chances. Would love to hear your experiences! ❤️

Endometrial biopsy and SIS - painful?

I have an endometrial biopsy to check for endometritis and a SIS scheduled for today. I'm looking to hear others' experiences regarding pain for these procedures. I only felt mild cramping during the HSG procedure, so I'm hoping these are similar!

Looking for insight / success stories

Hi, I turned 32 this year and was diagnosed with DOR. Fell pregnant naturally in Feb with an ectopic and lost my left tube and was then told I had very early stage endo. My AMH was .17 and higher FSH. My last AFC count was 9. Is there a chance I can conceive on our own before turning to a fertility clinic? I have on high doses of coQ10 and lots of supplements which I think have contributed to my higher afc. My periods are only like 3 days but the first 2 are very heavy and crampy. Just curious if anyone has a similar story that resulted in a pregnancy on their own.

All symptoms and then nothing!

Trying to conceive for the first baby for years!

I had nausea, very sore breasts, headache, thigh pain, pulling sensation in uterus, frequent urge to pee, constipation, dry mouth, weird taste in mouth, strong sense of smell, high body temp (not fever) you name it and I had it for a week after ovulation (started 5-6 days after ovulation), and suddenly, it all vanished. Still 5-6 days more to go before the expected period.

What kind of trolling is this, and why do I deserve it?

It happened for the first time in these many years. Even my fertility specialist was all hyped up that I've conceived.

HyCoSy blocked tube - need positive stories

I had a HyCoSy procedure this morning and didn’t really know what to expect because I read so many different experiences. I crossed my fingers and hoped I would be lucky and it wouldn’t be so bad.

A few months back I did egg retrieval completely unmedicated and I would say that this was worse then that! First it was only small cramps but once the diy went in the tube and hit the spot where there seems to be a blockage I screamed. I was nauseous, white as s ghost and shaking, and in s lot of pain. The doctor offered to stop but I wanted the diy to go all the way through so I powered through. She said it was hard to push the diy in and that there seemed to be a blockage. I thought about telling her to force the tube open and push more but In the moment I couldn’t survive more pain. I couldn’t stand for an hour because of fainting and had to lie down in s recovery room. Still feeling regretful that I didn’t ask her to push harder.

I only have one ovary and one tube and it seemed as though the diy didn’t go all the way to the ovary.. it went all the way until it reached the end.. the doctor told me that it looked like it’s blocked at the end 😢 but she also said that there is still a small chance that the diy opened up the tube and washed something out? This was at a fertility clinic and ofc they recommended ivf straight away. But I’m thinking.. I should at least try naturally for 1-3 months right? I’ve heard stories of tubes unblocking after HyCoSy. What do you think? Anyone have stories about Hycosy unblocking the tube? I’m so sad 😞

TTC

Hi team! My husband and I are TTC. Yay! Last month I got my first negative test, which I was assuming was going to happen but disappointing non the less. Anyways, I am on here to ask if anyone has any recommendations for fertility trackers or apps? Is getting an oura ring worth it? Or Inito? Or YO Sperm Test? Just trying to increase my odds the best I can! I am using LH strips at home and taking a prenatal. Thanks!

Hydrosalpinx

I’ve had unexplained infertility for 5 years. I decided to get a 2nd opinion this past month and found out that my hsg was not normal. My right tube has hydrosalpinx and needs to be removed. And then after removal we will try iuis. Has anyone had success after having one tube removed?
