Did you know that in some countries Indian summer can be as late as in November?

I’m staying in Mission Beach and some of the side streets here have two feet of water on them at high tide. Coastal flood warning until Thursday.

Not sure if this is the right sub but I saw this early Sunday morning in Northeast Oklahoma. Very cool but which kind of halo is this?

Enjoy a delightful day with mostly sunny skies and a refreshing chill in the air! Expect a high of 55 degrees, complemented by gentle northwesterly winds blowing at 5 to 10 mph. Perfect weather to step outside and soak in the beauty of the day!

I remember there were a couple days in the early 90s where we had steady 70mph winds. There was no storm activity, it was sunny with blue skies. I hope somebody has knowledge of a database that can be filtered for wind and can pinpoint the days this happened.

The weather has been pretty stormy lately where I live and I was laying in bed with the lights off whilst it was raining. My windows went totally bright white with light as if the lightning was really close by. This would have been normal but at the same time I heard an audible zap/fizz and saw white sparks almost like a bolt of light (maybe a foot long) on my ceiling - instantly I thought by the sound that a lightbulb had blown out but there are no lights on my ceilings and the closest electric appliance is the air conditioning and the wiring running along the adjacent wall.
Is this a cause for concern and what does this mean?
Get ready for a mostly sunny and warm day! With temperatures reaching a cozy 72 degrees and a light breeze from the west-northwest at 5-10 mph, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some time outside. Don’t miss out on this beautiful weather!

Well we're getting further from the sun. 2 celsius feels like -2 celcius

My wife loves all things weather, especially storms. She hasn’t yet really gotten into the scientific side of it but I think she might if given the opportunity. I think she’d find a weather station really cool and interesting. Are there any that aren’t hundreds of dollars but are still pretty cool? I think our 8.5 year old would also get a kick out of it (and would like being able to check on weather related things without asking to look at our phones)
I was looking at things like this https://a.co/d/0iUNM7kz or maybe https://a.co/d/07Yl4iix
but idk. Also obviously if it’s not accurate it’s sort of pointless so of course I don’t want to get something that’s essentially a toy and doesn’t give good info.
Also I’d take any other gift ideas! She really likes storms and tornados in particular.
