Is this confirmed? Did you test it? :( I think it looks so off when using the bigger center complication in modular faces, it doesn't have to update frequently if they wanted to save battery, just restore previous watches behavior, at least show the graph and latest processed sample. Also, I don't know how much battery the new behavior could save, new watches already refresh AOD every second. The seconds hand, numbers and graphs already refresh live every second, and the watch is already sampling heart rate multiple times a second to log every 5s,, so I'm still inclined to believe it's a bug, and it would be sad if they haven't fixed it yet or decided this is a new design choice.
Well, I guess from a rendering point of view… yeah, it could sue more battery to update it every second, cause I assume it’s not like a seconds hand or graph, processing that cost nothing. But maybe rendering a heart rate graph or number in AOD mode might use more… I’m still hopeful tho, just because it’s not expected that the big center heart rate complication literally goes blank, that’s not expected after years of at least showing a graph in AOD. Thanks for your input tho hehe I also have Ultra 4. Lets see. I’ll assume this behavior is here to stay for now.

Anyone able to test if the big heart rate graph complication still disappear on wrist down on Apple Watch 12?
