Error while opening Kali machine

I downloaded a Kali VirtualBox machine from the kali.org site. When I launch it in VirtualBox I get this error

An error has occurred during virtual machine execution! The error details are shown below. You may try to correct the error and resume the virtual machine execution.

Details

The I/O cache encountered an error while updating data in medium "ahci-0-0" (rc=VERR_INVALID_HANDLE). Make sure there is enough free space on the disk and that the disk is working properly. Operation can be resumed afterwards.

Error ID: BLKCACHE_IOERR
Severity: Non-Fatal Error

When I tried to instead run an OSBox VM of Kali, I got this error

The virtual machine failed to boot. That might be caused by a missing operating system or misconfigured boot order. Mounting an operating system install DVD might solve this problem. Selecting an ISO file will attempt to mount it after the dialog is closed.

The vdi file is mounted. I am able to run OSBox VMs of Zorin and FreeDOS without any problems.

VirtualBox ver: 7.2.20 r175154 with VirtualBox Extension Pack 7.2.20r175154

Host OS: Win 11 Pro 25H2, not running Hyper-V
