Acads How long does it usually take for FICs to grade submitted written assignments?

Hi everyone! I’m a first-trimester PTC student.

For those who have taken or are currently taking PTC courses, how many days or weeks does it usually take for professors/Faculty-in-Charge (FICs) to release grades after submitting a written assignment?

Just trying to gauge what the typical turnaround time is so I know what to expect. Thanks in advance!

Discussion How do you deal with a groupmate who is condescending and constantly disrupts the flow of discussions?

I’m currently doing group work for one of my classes, and honestly, I’m starting to get irritated with one of our team members.

For context, I don’t expect everyone to agree with every idea presented during a meeting. That’s the whole point of collaboration, right? We exchange ideas, challenge assumptions, and improve our output together. I’m more than willing to listen to constructive criticism and suggestions.

My problem is how this particular person communicates.
There are moments when our discussion is going smoothly. We’re building on each other’s ideas, establishing a direction, and making progress. Then this person suddenly throws in a side comment or a suggestion that completely derails the conversation. It’s not necessarily that the suggestion is bad, but the way it’s delivered and the timing make the discussion feel unnecessarily disrupted.

Example:

“oh tutal gusto mo yung plano na yan para mas marami kang airtime” like wtf???

“Bakit hindi nalang picture mo gamitin, tutal nagmamaganda ka?”

THIS IS OUR FIRST MEETING HA??? LIKE UNANG BESES NAMIN MAGMEMEET ONLINE!

What bothers me more is the condescending tone and the choice of words. Sometimes, it feels like he needs to insert his opinion into everything or make a comment just to establish that he has something to say. There’s a difference between contributing something meaningful to a discussion and constantly making remarks that undermine the flow of the conversation.

I understand that everyone has different communication styles, and maybe I’m also becoming less patient with this person. I’m trying to be self-aware because I don’t want my personal irritation to affect how I work with the rest of the group.

But at the same time, I feel like professionalism isn’t just about having good ideas. It’s also about knowing how to communicate them, when to speak, and how to respect the discussion that’s already happening.

For those who’ve experienced something similar, how do you deal with this kind of teammate?

Do you address it directly, let it slide to avoid unnecessary conflict, or find a way to manage the discussion so one person’s behavior doesn’t affect everyone else?

I want to handle this maturely without coming across as defensive or overly sensitive, but I also don’t want to keep getting annoyed every time we have a meeting.

Would appreciate hearing your experiences and advice. BTW nasa graduate program pala kami, kaya I was expecting more from the group.

Acads COMP ED 20 - Quick Rant

So ayorne, just as the title suggests, I have a quick rant lang about this course.

I am a 1st yr 1st Trim student and I work full-time, I have relevant work experience hence why I have some sort of knowledge about Excel but I never expected this course to really stump me. I underestimated how difficult it actually is to understand the concepts in an asynchronous learning environment.

Super difficult pala kapag mag isa ka lang umiintindi, and because of that I have been thinking of getting together with my coursemates for some discussion sorta thing.

Admissions UPOU PTC - chances of acceptance

Hello everyone. I just want to pop a question. (Please be kind 😭)

My application has now progressed from pre evaluation of documents to awaiting DERM completion.

To tell you honestly, I am heavily banking on getting PTC since I wanted to take LET. I realized late in life that I wanted to do teaching.

I’m really really high up with my anxieties that I might get rejected. During my college years, I was a dean lister for the first year, then second and third year (I never have a bagsak), but my grades were either B, C+ and I have a one D+ (lol). My QPA is at B overall. Fourth year I was able to bounce back.

I was just worrying if this will affect my application? All my documents were submitted right. What are the chances I’d get rejected and chances of being accepted? I know none of you are part of the faculty (just in case someone might get snarky 😭)

Admissions How long can I delay my uGAT?

I applied for UGAT in the first sem of last year for SY 2025-2026 and since then I kept failing to take my scheduled uGAT. There were several reasons that made me do so such as my hectic schedule and many more.

Now, given the news of several students failing uGAT and the test being a one chance test only I'm being inclined not to take my uGAT again. I have been preparing for it for about a month already but I really am not convinced with my preparation. I am only able to grasp the basics but haven't prepared yet for a time limited test environment.

Also, as I have learned they won't give back the documents you already submitted and I'm quite stressed about that too.

Question MPM graduation this december

Hiii! Graduating this Dec 2026. I received na yung mga information and program sa email, but wala akong mapagtanungan ng other questions.

- since 4pm yung start ng Graduation Program (dec 5) mismo, and may mga activities from 12:30nn, hindi ko alam kelan yung time na pwede yung mag sari sariling picture with family. Anxious ako kasi I have a 2 year old and plan namin na iuwi na siya sa airbnb after taking a family pic so I can focus na. Anyone who knows how it works usually?
- for the pre-graduation activities (dec 4) anyone who attended lang yung graduation rehearsal? is it ok if hindi na umattend ng morning events?

tyia!!

Admissions [HELP] Question about Mailing Hard Copies (LaLamove?)

Hi!

I plan to send the hard copy requirements through lalamove with the deadline happening within 5 days.

Question:

What instructions should I put in the app for the delivery driver? Or will they already know what to do once they reach the address, given that there's a supposed system for document delivery to the admissions office?

Question Has anyone here passed ADDAA after failing to qualify for BAMS?

I’d like to ask those who applied for BAMS but didn’t make it and decided to try ADDAA afterward. Did you still have enough time to apply after seeing the BAMS results, especially if the results came out early?
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this and successfully got into ADDAA. I’m considering it as an alternative, and I’d appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you!
