What do you guys think that each of the quotes that we have gotten so far for the playable UD2 protagonists could mean? 🤔 I will edit this as the last two get revealed.

Owen: “When the spotlight comes first someone has to come second” I think this means that as Owen being brash and trying to be a perfectionist the goal is we need to mold him to be humble and think of his other team members and not be selfish and let them shine as well. To be a good team leader basically.

Mina: “Not everything is worth the views” I think this obviously means the ritual scene from the 2nd trailer where Mina has to choose between sacrificing Plucky Chicken or slashing her palm; I think slashing the palm is the best choice in this situation.

Nate: “How much can you trust someone when your heart is broken” Sooo this one is a bit tricky for me and is interesting to me but I believe that he may have a crush on someone in the group and they don’t reciprocate the feelings back possibly it’s Josie or simply could be a girl back in where he lives like an ex girlfriend or something along those lines but this has him feeling trust issues and we will have to break his trust issues and have him trust the group more and build his confidence back up.

Josie: “When the odds are against you, how do you keep fighting” This makes me believe that Josie is gonna get the most intense segments throughout the game and that she might not be as close with everybody in the group besides Luke being her boyfriend and she must prove her worth to everybody and gain that respect from her crew members as a resourceful asset to the team.

Cameron: “Every secret comes with a cost” This one is most likely referring to the affair that he has or can have with Anna and he needs to tell the group including Sebastian who possibly can save him or kill him depending on how Cam goes about the situation testing his loyalty to the group and Seb.

Izzy: “Keep your head down or speak up and stand out” This is likely referring to her being the underdog and the newest member of the group and that she must speak her mind and step up to Owen and prove that her voice should be heard and that she should be more respected and valued.

Does anyone know of any good fanfics focusing on Jessica's night, injuries, and/or recovery process (especially her coming to turns with any physical scars that affect her appearance in some way)? Can be either solo survivor route or everyone lives route. I'd love to hear what you guys have found!

One thing I hope is that no character will get the Jessica/Matt or Max/Nick treatment. However, I have this weird feeling Luke and Izzy are going to suffer from it.

Idk if anyone has already posted this but this is something I noticed. Especially since the leaker who posted this posted this hours before the reveal trailer and was right about everything we know about until now.
Both mention heartbreak and Nate’s teaser mentions trust.

Why didnt the flamethrower guy report what happened to Beth and Hannah? They couldve saved Hannahs life if he said something to the authorities. Its shown hes not a villain or a bad guy later on?

My theory comes from this specific line of text: “…only to confront horrors that turn their staged fears into a deadly reality”; so what if what the curse does is turn into reality all the of their staged videos? Meaning we could have different enemies throughout the game, and since i think we can safely assume that the wendigo from the prologue seen in the trailer is fake, it could appear in ud2 as well if this ended up being true.

This is clearly very similar to the movie’s main gimmick of having a different enemy each night while having a big main villain: dr. hill in the movie and the ghostly boy and his vengeful mother in the game (or just dr. hill again and they’re one the multiple enemies).

Or… maybe that line could just mean that they’re encountering real danger for the first time after all their staged videos, but theorizing is more fun

I dont understand Joshs logic. Why terrorize the two people that had the least to do with the prank on Beth and Hannah? I know Ashley was there and sort of deserves it. But Chris was passed out during the prank and Sam tried to stop the prank. Additionally, seems like Chris is the closest to Josh friend wise. I would understand terrorizing Mike, Emily, and Jessica since they were the ring leaders of the prank.

I first played until dawn in 2016 & I got two trophies at that time. I played the game again in 2026 & got the other 17 trophies to receive a 100 percent platinum trophy. The problem is when I look at my trophies account from another pan profile it says 100 percent on every game but until dawn it shows no trophies completed at all. I don't have the game or trophies hidden the only thing I can think of is it's a glitch because I got Two trophies in 2016 on PS4 then didn't play the game again till 2026 or it's because in 2016 I didn't play it on cd I played it via psn network not via cd hope I can get some help here if not I will just have to play the PS5 remake & get 100 percent not a fan tbh as I love the original

First of all, why would you go back to the place you claimed to be the soul survivor of a demonic attack. Wouldn't that be traumatizing? She's also wearing the exact outfit as if she wanted Dead True to recreate the events. She looks unfazed despite loosing her family, or did she? If that is her brother on the photo, does that mean the machete guy is her brother? They both wear the same patterned jacket.

Is Yoona trying to find a big sacrifice? The chicken is referred to as the "medium sacrifice" which suggests there is a small and a big one. Is she trying to either please Sebastian or maybe save a family member held captive by this game's monster (theorized to be the yokai, the Jorogumo)

For all the years I've seen playthroughs of this game, I always thought this was just Chris being a super good person who irrationally blamed himself. But now I finally understand, Chris is basically saying "I should've trusted him earlier".

As Chris explains in the Skeptical choice, even with everything Josh did, the idea of him straight up murdering Jessica was far-fetched. Chris is likely wishing he believed him earlier. Even though Chris has every reason to hate him, he remains loyal and THAT is a true friend

I was doing some research and I noticed that in the trailer where it shows the dead true cast at a horrorcon event; Anna is all the way at the right of the table so does this mean that she’s a part of the crew as well before-hand? Sebastian isn’t present which makes me think that we won’t get introduced to him until we get to the island. Also interesting enough where is everybody else like Cam and all them?
