I know I'm squeaky so I think I'm not getting my chords right ? Not sure. I'm getting lessons with Danny from here now & learning tabs, I've managed to play oloah oe & here comes the sun & improving. But I had a lot of fun with this one today. Thanks for advice and being a great sub.

So, it's been 3-4 weeks since I'm learning ukulele. I've learnt the basic open chords such as C, A, F, Am, G, Am9, Dm.
I've also tried some finger picking too, but right now I can only use my thumb and index finger to pick the strings.
In this video, I'm playing with chord progression of G - Bm - Am9 - G with DDD UUU DUDU strumming pattern.
I need a honest feedback about my playing. I don't want to learn bad technique and then give a month to undo that.
So guys help me out.
I just picked up a ukulele and I'm really excited to start learning! I don't have any prior musical experience (genuinely) , so I'm looking for a beginner-friendly YouTube series or channel to help me get started.
What are your favorite channels for complete beginners? Any specific playlists you'd recommend? Thanks in advance for your help! My goal is to learn some songs I like. I generally prefer tabs from playing bass twenty years ago.

I just got my first soprano ukelele thinking it would be easy to learn..... I'm totally stunned as to how intricate it is to keep up with beat while being accurate when it comes to finger placement.....
And then there's this guy who can play both melodica and ukelele at the same time....

I can play twist and shout as well as the riptide on my ukulele exactly like how I learned from Andy's Guitar on Youtube; however, my ukelele which is a Concert version, it sounds nothing like the songs that I'm trying to play!
I have used the guitar tuner app on my Google Pixel 8a to tune my ukulele into the standard tuning, I'm also pretty sure that I'm strumming as well as placing my fingers on the right chords on the two songs that I can play. I'm also left handed and strumming with my left hand and my ukelele is for left handed people as well! Its a Aklot brand so it is not the cheepest one. It is also made with the mahogany wood and is exactly like Andy's guitar one for his main lessons. My sister bought it last year, brand new and she only played one song with it.
I can't figure out why it dousn't sound nothing like the songs that I'm playing, other than maybe there is something wrong with the strings. but even the strings are working and are still making good sound, is just that it sounds nothing like the music that I'm trying to play. Does anybody having a same problem as me?

I've been playing around a month, I've learned a lot of chords (C, G7, G, D, A, Am, F, Em, and a bunch of less common ones like Gmaj7 and C7) I've learnt a couple of songs, even begun to try singing and playing but I don't have any clear structure anymore, I used to just pick up the ukulele and play. But I don't know where to go from here, I feel kinda stuck cos I don't know what I should be learning and working on. Anyone have any tips?

First time caller, long time listener. I wanted to share a cover of Kim Kwang Seok's "Kuru Tteoki" or "A Stump" that I painstakingly learned by ear. The chords are G, C, D, and Eb. It is a Korean song from the 90's that I stumbled upon as a young kid when I found his album at a random thrift store in small town Ontario, CA.
The original song is here: https://youtu.be/-fQ4sajHM2c?si=MwydQ-EBbs_EuPKb
This is my first time ever posting my playing and singing online so please be kind- I will literally cry lol.

Anyone who doesnt take it serious and thinks its a toy probably thinks knives are a joke too. Lol sorry for the violent comparison but it will cut your soul just as deep as any guitar. The beautiful little chord machine. Ha
Just a cool ukulele jam ive been working on. Thanks for posting cool sounds and jamming out with me!

Does it have something to do with the wood? Is it something I should be concerned about? I bought this Ukulele new in Hawaii back in 2019 and I swear these lines have been forming more and more over time since and I don't know what the cause is. I don't recall them ever being there when I bought it.
Also if anybody can identify the type of wood it's made out of that would be greatly appreciated.

So, yeah, I've found I quite like the baritone ukes that I have, and am looking at picking up a resonator type. What's folks' experience with these? What brand do you recommend, what's available in my area (upstate New York, USA), what should I watch out for?

I hate the term 'jazz chords' but youtube tells me I should be more engaging, whatever that means.
Here's how to play fancy chords using four shapes as your base. It's a great crash course in harmony that'll help you no matter what type of music you play.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to start playing ukulele and would like to get a decent starter instrument. I looked through the FAQs and think I've found a contender in my budget but wanted to ask if anyone would give it a yay or nay. From what I can see on that review site linked in the mega thread there's not much rated higher I could get for £110 posted.
Sorry if this type of thread isn't allowed, I'm not trying to annoy anyone

I came across this sweet rendition of Levels (Avicii), but even when I slow it down to half speed it's difficult to figure out. I've only got the first few notes. I'm a 6 month uke beginner and even more new to finger picking. My ear can't quite figure it out, especially when 2 notes are being played at once. Any help transcribing this? I'd chip in a few bucks to a venmo or patreon or something
