Discord Server for all EUR students

I've seen a bunch of different people create different WhatsApp groups and discord servers for EUR but it's always a different one so if you're interested, here's the link to one that I created, which hopefully, with the help of this reddit we can use as the unofficial official place to chat amongst ourselves : https://discord.gg/ZZcctP4Pdb
At the moment it's completely barebones because I just want to see if anyone is even interested but if a couple people join, then I'll be sure to make it more complete.

Accepted for the pre-master/master Orthopedagogiek. Would love to hear your experience with the university and/or the study!

• Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I got my acceptance email yesterday morning during an interview for a job (lol it threw me off guard!). I am super thrilled that I can go further with my education, especially in the Netherlands. I'm originally from California and speak around B2+ Dutch.

At the moment, I am considering accepting the offer from the university as it's close to where I live. However, I also received an offer from Leiden. After comparing the two studies on Studiekeuze123, Erasmus scores higher in pretty much all the categories.

With that being said, I would love to hear your experience with the uni and/or the study. :)

How to navigate Scholarship options for students pursuing a master’s degree at Erasmus

Hi everyone!

I’m planning to apply for Erasmus University Rotterdam’s International Public Management and Public Policy master’s programme, but I’m having trouble navigating the scholarship application process.

I understand that Erasmus University Rotterdam is no longer participating in the NL Scholarship (formerly the Holland Scholarship). I wanted to ask current students, alumni, or applicants about the other scholarship opportunities available to international students.

A few questions:

  • What other scholarships can international students apply for at Erasmus University Rotterdam?
  • Are there any merit-based scholarships for this programme, and are applicants automatically considered during admission, or do we need to submit separate applications?
  • Are there any university-specific scholarships or external funding opportunities worth exploring?

I’m an Indian applicant, so I’d particularly appreciate advice from students who have navigated the scholarship process as non-EU applicants.

Any guidance or personal experiences would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Chances of getting in IBEB or IBA

My final-year GPA is 9.11/10. However, the Spanish education system calculates the university admission grade based on both the final and penultimate years of high school, together with the university entrance exams. My GPA in the penultimate year was around 8/10, while my final university admission grade is 8.7/10.
In terms of individual subjects, I meet the minimum requirements plus on my university entrance exam I got a 9.65/10 in maths and a 9.25/10 in English. I also have honours in English, Physics and Business for my final year.
I also have have a 7.5 IELTS

Microeconomics IBEB

Hi guys, unfortunately I think my maths exam is going to go badly, so I was wondering: how much maths is there in microeconomics? Is it hard? What should I revise? And is the exam difficult in general? Thanks!

How hard is it to get in, and what’s student life like?

Hi everyone!
I’m an Italian student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and I’m seriously considering applying for the MSc Finance & Investments at Rotterdam erasmus school of economics.
I’d love to hear from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the university.
I have a few questions:

1. Admissions
How competitive is admission to the MSc Finance & Investments?
How important are GPA, GMAT scores, and extracurricular activities?

2. Academic experience
How challenging is the program in terms of workload and exams?
How well does it prepare students for careers in finance?
3. Career opportunities
How good are the career prospects after graduation?
Is it realistic to find a job in investment banking, asset management, or other finance-related fields?
Do graduates have opportunities to work abroad, particularly in London?
How useful is the university’s reputation and alumni network when looking for jobs?
4. Student life in Rotterdam
What’s Rotterdam like for an international student?
Is it easy to make friends and have a good social life?
How difficult is it to find accommodation, and what would be a realistic monthly budget?
Would you recommend Rotterdam over other European cities for a master’s degree?

Any honest opinions, personal experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to get an offer from Erasmus?

Guys, I am a student at university of twente in Foundation program called TPC(Twente Pathway College) and took a degree in International Business Administration because i have 11 years education in my school. Now I am preparing for OMPT-D and planning to take it in February to pursue a degree in Econometrics and Operation Research next year, but I do not know if Erasmus accept my offer even with a high OMPT because I have only 11 years education and this Foundation program only for University of Twente and Erasmus requires 12 years.

I checked the official website of Erasmus and it says that we do not accept any Foundation program.

However, I know a guy who was also in the same Foundation program as me last year and he got offer from Erasmus because he just passed the OMPT-D and showed certificate of completion of 11 grades of school and that’s all.

I am just very concerned about it if I can get offer From Erasmus, just in case if you know something please tell me!

Failed first block IBEB

Guys, I don't think I'm going to pass the first block. My first experience with university was tough, but now I think I understand how it works. Do you think it'll get better? Do I still have a chance of staying if I fail the first two exams? Any advice? Has this ever happened to you? Thanks, I'm really worried...

People who already passed OMPT-D please tell about your preparation for this test, how long did you prepare? And if you can tell some advices so please!

I am a student in University of twente in TPC foundation programme because I had a 11 years in school instead of 12 and UT requires 12 years so that is why I went to the pre-bachelor program in International Business administration.

I am preparing for OMPT-D and planning to take until beginning of February, but I do not know if I can get higher 75% for university of Erasmus and take a degree in Econometrics and Operation Research, now I am going to learn Trigonometry and then Derivatives then other topics like integration and etc. To be honest I do not know if I can manage it in 3 months and if you guys already passed OMPT-D please give me some advice that really helped you during your preparation, I would be very grateful.

Indian applicant to RSM and ESE (Sept 2027), how are job prospects after graduating? I want to stay in NL.

Hi all,

I'm an Indian applicant (3-year BBA, founder's office experience at a startup, had my own start up prior) applying for Sept 2027 to:

- RSM: MSc Business Analytics & Management (alternative: MSc Strategic Management)

- Erasmus School of Economics: MSc Financial Economics (alternative: Strategy Economics, Economics & Business, )

- UvA MSc Finance as another option, with Germany as a backup

I'm funding this fully with an education loan and I want to stay in the Netherlands after graduating, not go back.

For current students and alumni of RSM and ESE: did you find a job after graduating? How long did it take, in what roles and sectors, and did you need Dutch?

Also, what was your experience getting accepted with a 3-year Indian degree?

Honest answers welcome, I'd rather know before I take the loan.

Thanks!

My possibilities of getting into the IBA (International Business Administration) course

I know RSM is quite competitive so let me list what is basically my CV,

AP grades: 4 in AP euro, 4 in AP Psych, 5 in AP Micro, 3 in AP CSP, 3 in AP Seminar

My predicted for this year will be in AP Research, AP Calc AB, AP Macro, and AP Business and personal finance. I will get good predicted and hopefully do well in the exams as well.

My extracurriculars involve, Investment club, Business and economics club, varsity track, varsity football, starting a company where I sold bracelets and donating everything to charity (still starting out). I have had two jobs as a chef and opened my own 'restaurant' in the boarding house. I have leadership roles in the boarding house.

I know they care a lot about international stuff I am Scandinavian going to an American/International school in Europe.

I think that is everything so, what are my chances and is there anything that I could mention that I haven't thought about, obviously I will only mention it if it is applicable to me

Struggling as a first year student IBEB

Hi everyone, I'm a first-year IBEB student and I'm about to take my first two exams. I find math really difficult, and even though I've studied a lot for accounting, I'm still struggling a lot (I did a mock test and got a 4.5). What do you recommend? Will it get better? Or should I consider switching programs? And what if I fail both exams? I'm feeling really unmotivated right now. Thanks

is IBA easy?

I am applying for IBA at erasmus rotterdam and have heard its piss easy from some students while some say the workload is substantial and should not be underestimated. I have done A-level maths and recieved an A, I have covered pure 1, pure 2, and stats 1 so far and its calm. Is there a lot of overlap there for maths ? Can any IBA students out there who do A-levels let me know if it makes it easier for me or if it is still hard.

Does the course itself give you much free time for activities friends and hobbies, maybe even weekly getaways to relax or explore? What is the student culture like for IBA specifically as well? Is it very competitive or more relaxed?
