I got a new gun! 😊 Video from defensive rifle training. First ever training opportunity! First time using the 10.5 Geiselle SD 5.56 and the Dead Air Laz 6

Wanted to share some training content with you all. I’ve shot an AR-15 about three times before this and just recently started buying my own. I took a leap and got a Geiselle by my third rifle purchase (what can I say, I’m a lesbian and we move quickly 😂 joking). I was the only woman there over the entire weekend.
What you’re seeing in the video was a moving drill. We were instructed not to go fast. They wanted us to get the feel of moving and firing accurately at the same time. It was more difficult than I imagined. In my head I’m thinking “how hard is it to aim and press the trigger and walk” typing it out shows me how silly and basic my line of thinking was lol. I was focusing on trying to shoot in between my steps and not when my foot lands but that was so hard to think about while moving sideways so forgive me for how choppy that looks. Definitely need to find an outdoor range to practice this one more.
I also got some opportunities to do some barricade drills. My build has a barricade stop so that was a game changer. Also learned valuable safety lessons, built muscle memory with my safety, learned about dry fire and live fire drills, holdovers and how to zero. The instructors were incredible! Didn’t feel militant at all and their feedback was incredible. Super safe class that I would honestly take again for the fun of it.
I ended the weekend with a pretty nice award from the instructors. They waited till the end to give me a patch, custom magazine, cup, and some sweet stickers! I am really proud of myself for achieving that award and for winning one of the shooting qualifications against the entire group. The patch is a big deal to the instructors and not everybody gets one. Patting myself on the back. Okay I’m done. Not trying to be braggadocios at all. Just still excited about what’s to come. That class gave me life (not what happened after for those who saw my post).
