Just came here to say Mike Campbell is THE MAN!! He is just so talented and also so cool! I saw his new album is up for a Grammy. I hope he wins because it’s time this guy is recognized for his new work because it’s incredible. Huge TP&H superfan and Recently discovered the 4 Dirty Knobs albums and listened to all and here are my favorite songs:

Build Your Build Your Own Mike Campbell Red Dog Telecaster

When Fender came out with a Master Built replica of Mike Campbell's Red Dog guitar, I knew it would be way out of my price range. When Fender came out with a version of Mike's Broadcaster, it sold out so quick that it didn't matter if I could afford it or not. There was no way I would spend over $20,000 on a replica guitar, so I decided to make my own. About 8 years ago I did kind of a lazy job crafting my own Campbell Broadcaster and it's become my main guitar. This time around I thought I'd put some actual planning into it. I came up with this build today with some help from Claude AI. I hope it helps someone else. I can't wait to start building my own Red Dog.

It’s never been talked about enough that Tom Petty used the word "lucky" in his songs again and again + that one member of the Traveling Wilburys was named Lucky (Bob Dylan) he worked with, and that in the early 90s, Tom recorded a song with Roger McGuinn literally titled "King of the Hill"! And then, OVERALL, he voices a character named Lucky on the show “King of the Hill”?! WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS

I assumed it would be the American treasure extended version at the original albums sped-up speed, but it’s actually slightly different than that. It fades out, but sounds like there’s some vocal riffing at the very end that is different from the American treasure version

Anyone know what kinda jacket/overshirt Tom has on this album cover? I'm planning to be damn the torpedos Tom for halloween this year but I cant figure out what this jacket is. Doesnt help that I couldn't find any outtake photos
