I have had TMobile Internet for a little over a year. For about 10 months, it worked perfectly. Now, I'm having all kinds of issues not being able to connect to Netflix, Roblox, Hulu, Google Nest, etc. Other things work perfectly fine. If I connect any of these things to my phone as a Hotspot, they work fine.
I worked with Tmobile on this and they eventually sent me a new gateway. For a few weeks, everything worked again. And then out of nowhere this weekend, it reverted back to these specific apps not working again. I have done the reboot and factory reset and all those suggestions. I am getting pretty frustrated by this. This was not a problem until the last month or two.

Have TMHI 5G. Extremely lucky, outstanding in my area. Highly reliable and getting 250-500 download and 50-100 upload deepening on the time of day.
Travel a lot for work, get bored, and learned I can remote play into my son's PS5. Playing some of the classic games from my youth now to knock me out before bed...
It works okay 65% of the time, but I am trouble shooting between hotel WiFi and things I can do to my home set up to make it better.
AI thinks that my TMHI + WiFi tuned off with Hint Control + Eero 6 / SQM will smooth out my connection and improve the overall reliability.
Anyone messed with a set up like this before, does it make a big improvement?
Sidenote:
PS5 like 5' from the Mesh Node = 100 download 20 upload.
PS5 + Ethernet to Mesh Node = 350 download and 20 upload
Anyone know why

On Wednesday this week my internet suddenly dropped to below 1 mbps upload speed. I have contacted T-mobile and they said a cable was cut affecting my tower and adjacent towers. They are routing all the traffic through a working tower and it is causing massive slowdowns. Accidents happen, but there is still no alert or important message on the T-Mobile site or app letting users know there is a problem. It is going on 4 days and customer service is no help. I know, 1st world problems. Des Moines zip 50266

Paid around $400 for the glinet X3000 spitz ax. I've tried it at two different locations where we have T-Mobile internet the 5G home internet in place of the G4 AR routers. I did the IMEI clone, had AI walk me through setting up the software side of things and it worked.
Problem is after a couple of weeks of troubleshooting with AI, cloning the G4AR's Sims and using those inside the travel modem, my speeds are garbage compared.
Typically about half in both locations, locking onto the same towers and bands the t mobile gateways were currently connected to.
Tried every setting, apn's, hop, ttl settings, different tower locking, blocking certain bands, locking onto n41, n25, blocking NSA, blocking SA, EVERYTHING. Pitiful speeds with the glinet X3000. Physical location, antenna adjustments watching signal & interference.
Then I do a speed test on the 5G Network with my Samsung s24 Plus on one of the cheapest possible plans 20 ft away from the window and it just knocks it out of the park. I think it knocked the original T-Mobile Gateway out of the park too as far as ping, upload and download speeds. Locked on to the same exact bands, (I downloaded an app on my phone to make sure.)
Turns out the s24plus has a significantly better modem and processor, along with an internal 4X4 mimo antenna. With what's supposed to be a "slower apn" or sim provisions.
So why not just use a used, cheap galaxy as the T mobile 5g internet modem, a USBC interface going to a regular router, potentially run or root the phone so the base operating system is Linux, and install open wrt or the same software that the GLI net x3000 is running. Have all the capabilities as the X3000 but better, faster.
Anyone using an old android as a 5g modem? Hooked to an external router for the wifi?
One of the primary goals would be to have the same software options and internal configurations the GLI net has and I don't see why that's not possible. Tower locking, band masking, Sim card settings, VPN, etc... just superior hardware.

I love t mobile home internet, it only ends up entirely useless like 3/8ths of the day and otherwise just good enough to make leaving not worth bothering with
Oh ziply, when will you grace me with your presence at my zip code? I've long awaited your coming, the years grow dull and I may fade, but the heart never stops yearning. I wonder what life feels like with fast internet? Webpages loading within a second? No fiddling with a router? No interruptions during work? Uploading a large file within 24hrs? Oh my heart yearns for the future, my heart yearns for a connection that cannot be broken.

I need to provide audit level details on the cybersecurity configuration for the firewall etc. Is there a way to use the admin IP to review/configure/audit it? Is this still a 5y long (from my research) firmware fix that has yet to fix it? Thanks, I like the service, but if this base level function is not available up stream then I need to migrate.

Set it up after I got home from work a few hours ago and just been surfing/watching Netflix and downloading some movies but it seems solid so far. Does anyone have any info on how it handles with online gaming? I’m a console guy and will usually just be me playing on my connection. Just curious how it stands up latency wise as download speeds seem pretty solid.

FIXED, THANKS EVERYONE I plugged it into my laptop and it worked so i tried cloning tMAC address with no luck so i did A full reset on my router and it's working again. Guess i wanted to set my smart home on separate vlan or spare router anyways.
Issue: As title says, no Internet through modem or wired connection when WAN1 or WAN2 is hooked up. Unplugged i can connect wireless to the modem and the Internet works.
Diagnostic: The modem shows to be connected and acts like its connected with Eithernet hooked up, so far I've tried the following:
-Different Ethernet cable that's known good.
-Both Ethernet ports on modem and on the router
-updated router firmware and reviewed settings
-Restart multiple times, unplugged for 30 minutes, reset modem
-Modem shows to be connected on HINT app communicating through the router. The router recieves correct IP
-Disabled adguard and any other router features not needed.
-Disconnected iPhone from T-Life and did diagnostics process on old Android phone.
-Tried putting in my real address, i could connect with the modem but not when router was hooked up.
-Switching to fallback wireless Internet on router then disabled it so it would only connect to WAN
Backstory - Self-owned Arcadyan TMO-G5AR is having issues, it's been working fine since i got it maybe 6 months ago or longer. I bought it brand new from a reputable (as in many good reviews) eBay seller. It replaced the Nokia trashcan I picked up in store maybe 4 years ago by providing an Alabama address when I'm in Texas. Router is a Flint 2 by GL-iNet running stock Firmware
Firmware is 1.00.6.
Recent Changes are i switched from Android to iPhone, slowly signing into everything, i signed into T-Life that morning and when i came home it said no Internet.
I like T-Mobile home Internet because the price is right and I would like to keep using it even if i have to run wireless to a repeater that's hooked to the router or spend $500 on a new modern.
Sorry for long post and misspelled words, i don't always see well to use spell check.
SOLVED Thanks!

When i first got t mobile 5g home internet over 3 years ago, ping was consistently under 50, last couple months it never hits below 75 anymore averaging between 85 and 110 on gaming (the same game that had under 50 for months before this started happening)
Will upgrading from rely home internet to amplified home internet fix this?

Hey everyone, I have had t mobile wifi for about 2 months now and have had a mostly good experience. However, this week, I've been having a peculiar issue. Whenever I visit a website, I get an error that I have no Internet connection, but when I refresh once or twice the website loads fine. Has anyone else dealt with this? I have restarted the router countless times and it may temporarily resolve the issue, but it always seems to come back. Let me know, thanks!

I’ve been having ongoing issues with our internet and connecting our small devices.
Backstory- We’ve had T-Mobile home internet for about 3 years? Never had an issue with it. Moved from IL to ND 2 years ago and still no issues. Moved a town over in May and had no issues at first. In June several of our small devices stopped connecting to the internet at the same time- our Yoto minis and Nintendo Switch.
I have been back and forth with T-mobile and Yoto trying to solve this issue. T-Mobile sent us a new router (Inseego FX4100) and it made no difference. It actually made my phone and iPad stop connecting until they changed the settings to 2.4GHz. Yoto sent us a new player, still would not connect. I am able to connect via hotspot but then I use my data and it’s frustrating to do everytime I want to download a new story. I got the brand new Yoto minis that just came out that is supposed to connect better, still will not connect. T-Mobile says it shows connected on their end but it won’t connect to Yoto servers.
I am so done with all of this. I haven’t tried any new settings with the switch, but they tech guys said it’s a known problem that the switch has online gaming issues due to us not having a static IP address. They said we could add on a static IP address for $3-4 a month and that might solve the problem. Does anyone have experience in this and did it fix the problem?
Other things- I live in a more rural area where we sometimes don’t get cell service, but internet hasn’t been a problem until June. The house we just moved in to has a metal roof, does that affect anything? I’ve used the app to find the best spot and we have full bars 5G connection.

I currently have a business line, static IP, using a third party gateway. If I enable IPv6 in the gateway and on my router, I'm not able to grab a prefix. Turns out that's by design apparently, as I was told by a few folks when calling that static IP lines do not get a prefix, therefor, only the router will grab a public routable IPv6, not my devices. For residential lines, if you have IPv6 enabled, does your router grab a prefix and give each device it's own public IPv6 address? Thanks!

I was a trashcan customer for many years and I got close to 1 g upload speed consistently. Of course when congestion happens it drops. But the fact I could get that high.
Now after switching out and back I have a g4 router. I took it literally under the cell tower the max upload I got was exactly 100M. That made me think they now throttle upload? The download I got was 1 g bps no problem.
100 M is good but that’s literally under the tower. In my house I could never get above 15. Most of the time just 6-10m

I just got a G4SE with the Rely plan. In the room where the G4SE (and the entire front of my house), my iPhone on T-Mobile stays on 5G UC. The G4SE reports "Excellent" "advanced cellular metrics" but frequently drops down to longer range band b12 LTE. This is on the first floor. I'll try moving the gateway to the second floor to see if I get further improvement in the cellular metrics.
In the current gateway location, it reports LTE metrics of:
5G, when connected, reports:
I had the gateway another room where it was using the directional antenna, but the numbers ranged from good to excellent. When I moved it to the front of the house, the numbers improved slightly.
I had one speed test on my iPhone of 749 Mbps down in the front of the house which is truly incredible. I typically see down speeds in the 200's and 300's. Ping and Jitter is much better than I thought wireless would be. Up and down speeds vary considerably, making the gateway more suitable to backup internet than primary internet.
My intention is for this unit to replace my cellular backup over Verizon. The T-Mobile gateway over LTE is substantially faster than my Verizon LTE backup.
Is there anything I can do to have the gateway stay on 5G more often? Should I switch to the Amplified plan to get the G5SE which may stay on 5G UC longer like my iPhone?
As a backup internet, T-Mobile internet with the G4SE on LTE, generally gives me the full bandwidth I need in a backup situation. 200 to 350 Mbps down is fine for backup. Upload speeds have been ranging from 15.6 Mbps to 77 Mbps, which is better than other cellular backup options. The upload speeds work in a backup situation. I've seen 104 Mbps up in the same room on my iPhone. I'm happy so far with the product for backup internet use. Should I just stay on Rely or should I upgrade to Amplified to get the G5SE gateway. I don't need more download bandwidth, especially downloads, but it doesn't hurt to have more.
For backup use, I'd prefer to have the options to turn off the WiFi radios and to get the IP address passthrough to my router, but otherwise it seems like this will work well.

I just got the TMO-5GMSE. I put it in my window for best signal, but I would like to run the power back to my network closet about 20 feet away where I have a great big UPS. I have a 1/2 inch conduit I could use, or drill a small hole in the floor to get it there.
Are there any known options for this unit either a USB C extension cord that is PD capable or would power over ethernet work even if an adapter would be required at the access point to route the power into the USB C port on it?

Have been using the Sagemcom FAST 5688W for about 3 years now with speeds 300+ to 400+ and gaming pings usually between 40 and 60, so I haven't been too concerned. Now I have the ability to upgrade and was wondering if the newer white looking box is worth it? Would I see any improvement?

I just switched to tmobile from xfinity and have the TMO-G5MAR gateway. I am trying to connect my eero pro second gen model # B010001. I have the ethernet cable connected between the gateway and my eero device, but the eero has no connectivity. The wifi on the tmobile gateway works, so it has a good connection. The eeros work fine when connected to my cable modem. Is there a way to connect to them to the tmobile gateway? Or would I have to buy t mobile extenders to have mesh?
Edit: i got it working. After connecting, I had to hard reset the eero router, delete my network in the eero app, and then re-add my eero router and beacons. One of the beacons had to be reset a few times before it would work properly (kept getting a message that it was out of range during the placement check step), but eventually it started working again. I'm still dealing with a significant speed difference for devices connected to the eeros via wifi.

What you see here is a long span of testing.
The 15th and the 1st the weather was not the best and hence why I say weather affects the speed up and down.
As you can see, the upload speeds very greatly and gaming on it, affects it.
Also as noted. I called t mobile in the first to report this situation. All I heard was they are working on x mostly more then it’s crowded.
$50 a month should be more reasonable but seeing the avg is like 75-100 a month i guess nothing anyone can do.

I have the G4AR hooked up to an Asus rt-be86u. This was mostly to add stability and functionality across multiple locations with streaming platforms.
I don't get the best signal on the G4AR but speeds have been fine for our needs. Would small antennas like the Asus work well on the back of the G4AR?
Not sure I want to add an external antenna yet. I've heard they work but getting one through my roof and walls will be challenging.
I have 3 towers in a triangle pattern with my house in the middle. Around a mile or so.
Bands at the north tower: 71, 25, 41, 66, 2.
Bands at the SE tower: 71, 25, 41, 66, 2, 12, 71
Bands at the SW tower: 41, 66, 2, 12, 71
I don't need the fastest speeds but want reliability and consistent wifi which has helped adding the Asus. Any help is appreciated 👍

My upload speed is terrible and I’m constantly lagging and my download speed usually doesn’t even get 100 mpbs doesn’t matter what time of day is this a problem with the modem (it’s a tmo-g4ar) is there a solution I can do at home or do I have to go and get a new box?
r/tmobileisp • u/TwangClub • 11d ago
I’ve had to reset my modem 3 times in the last 4 hours and at least twice a day for the last couple weeks. It’s probably time to switch back to xfinity. If you’re considering signing up for this terrible service don’t. Run while you still can.
