News [Jack Borman] Ayo Dosunmu has been gameday downgraded to questionable with right calf soreness. Certainly not a good sign for the Wolves with Bones Hyland already questionable. Will need to be a huge night for Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, Rudy Gobert and TJ Shannon to close out the Nuggets.

News [Jon Krawczynski] So here's what I have: - Ant was feeling really good after resting his knees in the summer. - Camp went well. Then he tweaked it in Miami. MRI revealed need for a cleanup. - Doing it now gets him back likely in Jan. He believes Wolves can contend for the title when he returns.

News Mike Conley is now free to join the Wolves
He got cut… is now free to come back on a cheap deal. Will be interesting to see if he wants to, or if another top team tries for him. I’m guessing at this point of his career, he’d choose familiarity and teammates he loves.

News [Howard Sinker] The Minnesota Timberwolves are adding former Trailblazers broadcaster Kevin Calabro and Chicago Cubs play-by-play voice Jon "Boog" Sciambi as announcers for the majority of their schedule.
Kevin Calabro and Jon "Boog" Sciambi have extensive experience as play-by-play announcers at the national level.
In addition to being the former long-time voice of the Portland Trailblazers, Calabro has called primetime games for TNT, TBS, ESPN Radio, and NBA TV. Sciambi is the play-by-play announcer for the Chicago Cubs, the voice of Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN, and the lead play-by-play announcer for the MLB the Show.
The duo will split play-by-play duties depending on availability. Michael Grady and Alan Horton will also do some of the games that aren't on national networks. For those who haven't heard of the source, Howard Sinker was the lead editor at the Star Tribune for 15 years.
Edit: Jim Pete will remain as color commentator, he isn't going anywhere y'all. He's a Wolves legend!

News New Wolves/Lynx ownership group still wants a new arena — and subsidies
Very light on specifics, but the rhetoric and talking points from the team has shifted. We probably shouldn’t be surprised, but interesting that they’re discussing it publicly now. Will be curious to see what the actual proposal when we actually get one and evaluate it then.

News Wolves announcer update: Michael Grady back for a (small) package of games. Alan Horton back to radio full time.
Per Judd Zulgad on Twitter:
Wolves announcer updates: No final decisions made on talent, but plan is to have Michael Grady back for a (small) package of games. Probably fewer than last season. Alan Horton expected to move back to radio full time, so another play-by-play person for TV will need to be hired.

News Per The Athletic's Sam Amick, the Timberwolves are monitoring Ja Morant's situation in Memphis.
Source is from this Athletic article posted this morning.
The relevant passage: "[...] but there is no shortage of teams that will continue monitoring his situation. The Minnesota Timberwolves, per a team source, are one. Ditto for the Sacramento Kings. The Grizzlies’ next opponent, the Houston Rockets, need a point guard after losing Fred Van Vleet to a torn ACL in the preseason but, per a team source, are unlikely to pursue him. That’s just a small sample size of what might be out there, and not out there, if the Morant sweepstakes ever actually begin. We’re not there yet, though, and may never be. No matter how inevitable it might seem."
I know the Timberwolves have to do their due diligence at a position of need that, if filled with the right player, could (IMO) vault them into legit title contenders.
But for a guy who has played in a little over half of games over the last four seasons and who is making $40 million a year, can't shoot, can't defend, has non-trivial off court issues, and has proven that he's willing to be a locker room cancer when things don't go his way... just feels like a horrible fit. Not to mention the opportunity cost to get him in terms of assets and salary (i.e., players important to this team).
