This isn't one of the usual beta builds found on the hiddenpalace, I got this build off of some neversoft forum site back around the time I was in college (around 2011) and there are parts of the level that are just wrong or completely missing.

I was stuck at the beginning of THP8 (the Shag Dad's Balls mission) for months because of the R2 trigger, and when I researched it, it seemed to be a common problem on PS3s after the 2.41 update (if I'm not mistaken, it's this one). But I found a way to fix it; I didn't see anyone talking about the fix online, so I decided to share it here. Basically, I connected my DualShock 4 and set it as controller #1, then I entered the game and connected the DualShock 3, which automatically became controller #2, So I held down the PS button until that mini settings menu appeared, then I configured the DualShock 3 as controller #1 and the L2 and R2 buttons started working completely normally. If that doesn't work, you can also connect the DualShock 4 as controller #1 and the DualShock 3 as controller #2, then after entering the game, turn off both controllers and then turn on the DualShock 3, It also worked as an alternative when the first method didn't work.

PS: I used a Dualshock 4 as a support to help with the fix, but I imagine another Dualshock 3 would work as well. So for the fix you need 1 Dualshock 4 and 1 Dualshock 3, Or just 2 Dualshock 3s.

Title. Can't get into THUG 2 remix because you can't spin with the shoulder buttons. Seems to be the same issue with THAW. For some reason this control option is not available for them. Does anyone know any version I can emulate on a PSP that would work with this control option available?

For the past few weeks I've worked with Claude in a loop to recompile THP8 to a native Windows/Linux executable ("Project 8 Plus"). It features uncapped FPS, ultrawide and custom soundtrack support, HD textures, and various minor additions like more character customization.

I want to clarify this is completely legal/I am not distributing anything from the original game - you download the Project 8 Plus launcher and give it a ROM and the executable is made on your machine.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 was released in North America 24 years ago

I have some ideas for the project, but little knowledge of reverse engineering; I can help by remastering the game and with other tasks.

Looking at it, it seems like there are a few clues that indicate you can get in there, a couple of the doors are already cracked open and it's got that busted roof section on the back half that looks like you can break through it. Or maybe it was possible in the PC version but not the new version for PlayStation?

Tried Project 8 on my actual PS3 before, and it runs like garbage. I couldn't really play it that way and dropped.

But since then, the PS3 emulator has made huge improvements, and can now flawlessly run the game and fix the performance: a stable 60fps (and beyond if you wish, though they warn you that the physics may break).

You still have to deal with some jank because this game was rushed out the door: the annual release schedule finally caught up with Neversoft with this game. And the physics are new, takes some adapting for sure.

If you want a challenge, absolutely play this, getting to 100% is quite the accomplishment.

Anyone who has the specs to run the emulator (see: https://rpcs3.net/faq ), I definitely recommend it. It's more Tony Hawk's at the end of the day. If this had proper development time, I suspect it would've been one of the most celebrated titles in the series.

You can hear tons of gameplay in the background including the cops yelling at the “street racing punks” and Eric Sparrow saying “whatevah” after being his dumb*ss in the best score challenge. I also used the activision theme a couple times. I hope u find it dope!

I’ve been working on a combo route and finally managed to hit 16 million points in a single combo!

It might not be that much for this subreddit, but it was a huge achievement for me!

The run didn’t go exactly as planned, so I had to improvise a bit. Ironically, the run where everything went wrong ended up being the one where I beat my record 😂

I completely lost control of the grind balance near the end, but somehow managed to land it!
Any tips on how to push this to 20M?
