Game Spoiler Do The Walkers Eat Animals?

I'm unsure of where to put this in terms of flair, so if a mod would like to apply one, do feel free — but I was watching a streamer play the TellTale game and that made me think:

Where are all the animals?

Do the walkers eat them? I imagine larger formed settlements do a lot of hunting, but surely live game shouldn't be that swiftly disappearing?

So do the walkers eat animals?

Clementine gets mauled because of a hungry dog, so.. where did all the natural meat humand and animals have eaten forever now go?

(Edit: Thank you to everyone who answered.

I never did see the show, so I was unsure.

Apologies.)

No Spoiler “Last Day On Earth” Episode that changed EVERYTHING

I was doing my annual rewatch of The Walking Dead, and I thought to myself this question:

Do you think if the writers knew how MUCH viewership and turmoil this episode cause audiences, they would’ve scrapped it?

As in, how many people stopped watching it afterwards? (I kept going but a LOT dropped)

Do you think that the writers would’ve stuck to the source material or still killed off who they killed off in this episode?

So many people loved spoiler glen and Abraham, so it was a massive hit.

Thoughts?

No Spoiler If Walking Dead actually happen irl 2027

I think people would survive more than 80% of the world. The fact that they are slow and easy to kill but can wipe out 90% of the entire earth population doesn't sit right with me. No way we could lose like that

Show Spoiler Season 4’s Flu Arc Lasted Way Too Long

I love season 4, it’s still one of if not the best season of the entire show. But this darn flu arc lasted way too long and should’ve been wrapped up sooner.

The first episode is good, a nice “uh oh” ending to the episode that sets it up nicely. The second episode is certainly good, seeing an initial outbreak was cool but also a terrifying reality to think about. The next three episodes of the five part arc is where, in my opinion, the sickness lasts too long.

I think they could’ve easily cut some of the scenes to reduce it to four episodes: 1. Same season opening; 2. Keep; 3. Mostly keep, some cut; 4. Cut a lot; 5. Mostly keep. I’m on another rewatch, and can’t help but find this arc as it is a bit of a drag unfortunately.

I love the prison, and wish we got more of it after season 3 but before everything goes to shit again. An extended flu arc certainly doesn’t help that. It also, in my opinion, forced some of the characters to stay in a rather annoying attitude for a while (Carol, Tyrese). They BOTH have valid reasons for being the way they are, but it seemed a bit dragged out a little too much, especially since we just barely saw the relationship between Ty and Karen to really care enough (and I LOVE Ty). I suppose some of the characters’ attitudes are not flowing or as natural as they can be in other parts of the show.

It’s still great tv and a part of the best TWD location and era, but some trimming down would’ve really helped the arc in my opinion. It’s still much better than later seasons. It’s got some fantastic scenes and acting, just needed a little less focus. Also a bit silly only two or three main characters get it, and the rest are fine. Oh well.

If I had a nickel for every time Carl got shot I would have three, which isn't much but it happened more than I wanted 😭

I just saw the EP where Ron shot him🤡

No Spoiler If you were to find yourself in the TWD world in the exact chronological order it unfolded in the series, how long would it take you to k!ll someone (human vs. zombie)?

Let's face it. In a world where law, punishment, and established rules are the norm, it's very difficult to "humble yourself" to kill.

  • At what point would you realise you had to kill someone?
  • How long do you think it would take you, and for what reasons would you kill?

No Spoiler Had an interesting dream last night with Beth

She was a sniper for the hospital from S5, and I was a random guy from the woods just trying to survive. Idk why she was out there, the dream sort of started mid conversation. We were talking and then I wanted to show her something so I moved away from her a bit and started yelling really loud like that random old guy from A Quiet Place. Of course, Walkers came. An even amount of them because what I did was in pairs. I weaved between them and almost got bit once but ultimately got away and went back to Beth. What I had done, I (in the dream) called a "Walker Dust" or a "Walker Hug". What happens is, I lead two into me from either side then jump out the way at the last second, and they collapse into each other. When they get back up, they are all tangled into each other and can't move much.

Nothing important or interesting, just thought it was kind of cool and wanted to share.

Show Spoiler 9th time rewatching- Dale & Randall

Everytime I rewatch the show, I develop a new level of dislike or love for a character. I’m in season 2 and Dale…. I’ve never disliked him more. Specifically I’m at the Randall part. Everyone is warned that the group Randall travels with has 30 members, weapons, and the men are rapist/pedophiles. Dale’s immediate response is to plead for Randalls life. Now granted he’s right to not want to kill him immediately, but as the facts come out that Randall knew Maggie, knows where the farm is, and the area, means that even if they let him go 25 miles away, he could always come back for revenge.

Also, the way Randall talks about the guys he travelled with and how they raped those poor teenaged girls was creepy at MINIMUM. The way he said “real young real cute was” sick. The way he tried luring Carl to help him (granted he was desperate to escape) was also creepy. Dale wanting to let him live among them or be set free is just.. not smart. Then Dale had the audacity to ask the group “How are we any better than those people that were so afraid of?” Like sir, you’re not serious right now!

Bottom line, if I’m told: if we let this man go, he can go back to his armed group of 30 men which include murderous rapists and pedophiles, I would vote for his death immediately. Let Dale go to the frontlines & offer his body as tribute.

(I know the counter arguments I’ve been reading them for years but Dale PMO with this one)

Show Spoiler Did I miss something?

So I just got to Season 9, episode 8 again and I gotta say I am confused at why there is so much tension between Hilltop and Alexandria.

Like Ricks dead, then time skip, Maggie's gone but there's this bad blood between the two communities and I feel like I missed the memo on this one, it can't be Negan cause Maggie didn't want him dead anymore so what is it?

Show Spoiler So...this was all planned?? (Season 10 episode 12)

I'm watching this show for the first time and I believe I just witnessed the best Plottwist ever.

I've been thinking about Negan and Carol this whole season. I was really confused about Negan's storyline with the whisperers and I was kinda pissed off that everyone was pissed off at Carol bc honestly, she was right. She went about it the wrong way, could've communicated better in general. I feel like this will lead to some huge fight sooner or later anyways. But I understood her actions.

Either way, Negan taking the head to Carol and her basically implying this was their plan all along?? I love this so much. This is everything I could've hoped for and more.

I'm so hyped rn and I can't tell my best friend because she's not awake yet, so I'll tell the internet instead, I guess

My poor cat. I just rewatched season 8, and now my cat will have to put up with me yelling "You Know What It Is!" at her (or whispering it, but never just saying it), 24/7 for the next 3 weeks.

She is a survivor

What TWD things do you direct at your unlucky pets

No Spoiler Can we talk about the music here…?

Watching the sewer scene with Carl, Michonne, and Rick at the moment, and the score here is fantastic.

First, that tense “rararaan, rararaan, rararaaaan” guitar, building the suspense, then Carl’s “innocence lost” theme slips in, before a mournful melody washes in, and now the tension turns into heartbreak.

Bear McCreary’s work adds so, so much to the show.

Fun Post The 3 questions that Rick and his group used to ask..

Post image
• Upvotes

-How many walkers have you killed?

-How many people have you killed?

-Why?

Together, these three questions determine if you are capable, dangerous, and trustworthy enough to join the group.

That was so "to the point" and accurate.

No Spoiler Stopped watching after Rick left…

So I’ve seen some clips of negan and other character in season 10 I believe, and wonder if I should come back.. I may skip some of season 9, but if I come back I’ll watch all of season 10,.. so context I slowly got through season 9, don’t really remember any of it, but was also kind half way in half way out because of Rick’s absence.. but is season 10 with the whispers worth a watch?

I felt like the writing was pretty inconsistent when it came to Negan and Carl. I do believe Negan respected Carl, but I find it odd that he was mourning him and crying over him when he was about to kill him.

Show Spoiler Governor repeatedly surrounds himself with undead trapped in water

Thumbnail gallery
175 Upvotes

I find it interesting how the Governor repeatedly surrounds himself with undead trapped in water. In Season 3, he keeps reanimated heads in fish tanks and sits alone watching them. Then, in Season 4, after chaining Pete underwater, he returns to watch his reanimated body beneath the surface.

Both scenes involve undead people trapped in water, unable to escape, while the Governor watches from a position of control.

I think this goes beyond simple cruelty. The tanks, especially alongside his refusal to let go of Penny, suggest an obsession with keeping death contained and under his control. He can't accept losing his daughter, so he preserves her, and his fascination with the other heads seems to reflect that same disturbing need to control what death leaves behind.

Do you think he enjoys watching the undead, or is he trying to convince himself that even death is something he can control?
