Sibling sexual tension
I am new to the show, and am watching S1E3 for the first time. I believe im watching the showtime version. I do not otherwise have a ton of context for this period in history, so I truly am experiencing it for the first time. This show is predominantly in my wheel house, and I have enjoyed other shows in a similar time period, such as Medici.
However one thing that has taken me out of it is the raw sexual chemistry between Lucrezia and and Cesare. I know they are supposed to be siblings but I am rooting for them to get together. It doesnt hurt that ive had a long-time celebrity crush on Holliday Grainger but my point still stands. Its more that im seeing an intense sexual chemistry between the actors, and i dont buy that she is 14. I also am seeing a lot of framing and directing that to me reads as sexual chemistry, such as the close intimate hugs, and one scene in E3 where Cesare pushes Lucrezia against a wall, and tells her that love and marriage aren't necessarily the same, and that she can rely on him. If they weren't siblings id place these two as an end-game couple.
The first time you see these two on screen, Lucrezia is watching Cesare fuck. Then the next morning he embraces her, nearly kisses her, and then lies on the grass facing her, promising that she doesn't have to marry. This was one instance where the tacky "dear brother" and "dear sister" address were needed as I, in the audience, really would have assumed that they were at least lovers, if not just in an open marriage from the way they were interacting.
Lol, there is a part of me that wants to see them kiss already. I hope that im not the only one who sees chemistry between these to and that fandom already has a ton of fan-edits of these two already.
Anyway, I am going crazy, or am reasonable to sexual tension between these two? I just needed to get this off my chest before I watch more.
Thank you for listening to my ted talk.
